Review: Seth's Awakening by Kim Breyon 4 of 5 stars

Seth's Awakening

Seth's Awakening by Kim Breyon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Seth flees to San Diego after a painful personal loss, desperate for a fresh start after spending his whole adult life raising his son. Lonely and unsure how to rebuild, he unexpectedly finds comfort in Declan, a red‑haired bartender whose kindness — and quiet intensity — catch him completely off guard. Their attraction grows quickly, but Declan carries deep wounds of his own, making it hard for him to trust again. As their connection deepens, both men must face their heartbreak and decide whether two broken hearts can finally fit together.

This story had such a powerful emotional pull, and the connection between Seth and Declan felt immediate and deeply affecting. Both men are hurting in their own ways, yet they manage to offer each other exactly the support, affection, and steadiness they’ve been missing. I loved watching them show up for one another through both the good moments and the painful ones — it made their relationship feel real and beautifully earned. The book is full of raw emotions and heartfelt scenes that are easy to read, easy to feel, and impossible to forget. There are definitely moments that bring sadness, but also plenty that bring warmth and hope. And best of all, it leads to a happy ending that feels truly deserved. This was an MM story with mature content.
