Review: The Math Teacher and His Werewolf by Shaw Montgomery 3 of 5 stars

The Math Teacher and His Werewolf: A Fated Mates Romance

The Math Teacher and His Werewolf: A Fated Mates Romance by Shaw Montgomery
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dorian, a math teacher who’s always known the supernatural exists but prefers not to get involved, suddenly finds it impossible to ignore the very obvious werewolf hanging around the animal shelter where he volunteers. Braun, that slightly grumpy werewolf with a mischievous sense of humor, has never paid much attention to humans — until Dorian walks in and turns out to be his mate. With one awkward conversation, everything changes, and the two must figure out how to balance saving the day with the pull of a budding happily‑ever‑after.

This was such a sweet, clever story, and I loved the way Dorian handled the young werewolf at the shelter — calm, thoughtful, and exactly the kind of steady presence Braun’s pack needed in an alpha mate. His open‑mindedness and quiet competence made him feel perfect for the role, even before he realised what he was stepping into. The romance itself was warm and fun, with clear communication and a lovely sense of connection between Dorian and Braun. I really enjoyed their dynamic, though I found myself wishing we’d learned more about the other pack and what came next for them. The only thing that occasionally pulled me out of the story was the missing words here and there, which made some sections a bit harder to follow. But overall, it was an enjoyable, charming read with a delightful pairing at its heart. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.

Review: Ornamental by E.M. Lindsey 5 of 5 stars

Ornamental

Ornamental by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luke feels like the only one at Irons and Works still unlucky in love, convinced something about him must be unlovable. That changes when Tony introduces his older half‑brother — a single dad with Tourette Syndrome whose quiet intensity immediately focuses on Luke. Despite the age gap and their personal complications, the spark between them grows through practice dates, stargazing, and learning to trust, leading them toward a sweet, well‑earned happily ever after.

This story is full of big, heartfelt emotions, and the connection between Luke and Raf is impossible to miss. Both men carry their own wounds, but Raf’s especially — losing so much because of his Tourette Syndrome — hit hard and added such depth to his journey. I found myself rooting for him from the moment he appeared. What made the book even more special was the way the Irons and Works chosen family immediately wrapped Raf in warmth and support. They didn’t just accept him; they gave him space, help, and belonging in all the ways he’d been denied before. Luke and Raf’s bond grows with tenderness, intensity, and a sense of inevitability, making their romance both moving and deeply satisfying. A beautiful, emotional read that left me smiling. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: A Daddy for Cooper by Emory Winters 4 of 5 stars

A Daddy for Cooper

A Daddy for Cooper by Emory Winters
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cooper, a submissive alpha finally ready to stop hiding who he is, finds himself irresistibly drawn to Patrick Morgan — the enigmatic Daddy Dom he’s quietly admired ever since Patrick returned to Foxwood Hollow. Patrick, still carrying deep trust wounds from his past, believes he should stay far away from someone as open‑hearted and vulnerable as Cooper. But the pull between them is undeniable. Cooper craves Patrick’s guidance, and Patrick can’t ignore the beautiful, eager fox who slips through the cracks in his walls. In their small, close‑knit shifter town, resisting each other becomes impossible.

This story is packed with deep, heartfelt emotion, and the connection between Cooper and Patrick is powerful from the very beginning. As they navigate their complicated dynamic — Cooper with his tender vulnerability and Patrick with his guarded, wounded heart — there are moments that absolutely tug at the reader. I found myself wanting to wrap Cooper in the biggest hug, especially during the scenes where his hurt was so raw and beautifully written. Their journey is full of intensity, longing, and genuine feeling, and the emotional beats are described in a way that makes them easy to understand and impossible not to feel. A touching, tear‑pricking story that delivers both depth and warmth. This was an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Scratcher

Scratcher by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Micah lives by strict hookup rules to keep his emotions in check, but everything changes when he meets Ryan — a gorgeous, stressed‑out stranger who can only offer secret Thursday‑night meetups. Despite Ryan’s hidden complications, their connection deepens fast, pushing Micah to want more for the first time. To make it work, he needs Ryan to give him something real, something worth holding onto.

This was such an emotional, beautifully crafted story, and the connection between Micah and Ryan was impossible to ignore. Even with both men facing real constraints — Micah navigating life with BPD and Ryan trapped in a complicated home situation — their pull toward each other felt natural, tender, and deeply human. I really appreciated how sensitively Micah’s BPD was portrayed. It was honest and factual without ever reducing him to a diagnosis. Ryan’s circumstances were equally clear and easy to understand, adding weight to why he struggled to give more even when he wanted to. Their relationship is full of big emotions, raw moments, and a slow, steady shift toward something real. And the happy ending felt absolutely earned. A heartfelt, moving read that stayed with me. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: It Started with a Text by Jax Calder 4 of 5 stars

It Started with a Text

It Started with a Text by Jax Calder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nick never expects anything serious to come from a snarky viral video he makes about his celebrity crush, pop star Anthony Devine. So when someone claiming to be Anthony slides into his DMs, Nick assumes it’s just a catfish. But their conversations quickly become the best part of his day — funny, honest, and surprisingly intimate. After a month of nonstop messaging, Nick is falling hard for a guy whose real identity he still doubts. Meeting could ruin everything… or prove that the man behind the screen really is the superstar he’s been crushing on. It Started with a Text is a sweet, modern novella about unexpected connection, online chemistry, and the possibility that the “catfish” might actually be the real deal.

This was such a fun, charming read. The humour between Nick and AntD absolutely made the story — that video recreating the pretentious apartment tour had me laughing out loud. Their banter was sharp and playful, but what really won me over were the deeper conversations they shared about emotions, trust, and past hurt. For a novella, it packed a surprising amount of heart. Their connection felt effortless, growing from jokes and memes into something meaningful and sweet. Add in the modern twist of maybe‑catfishing, maybe‑not, and it becomes a delightful blend of tension and hope. A light, funny, heartfelt story with a satisfying HEA. I enjoyed every minute. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: House of Cards by Courtney W. Dixon 5 of 5 stars

House of Cards

House of Cards by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calvin Abernathy is perfectly content with his no‑strings, no‑kids lifestyle — until a tragic accident leaves him the guardian of his friends’ grieving fourteen‑year‑old son. Completely out of his depth, he turns to his hot, infuriating neighbor Seth for help. Seth has always thought Calvin was a jerk, even if an annoyingly attractive one, but he agrees to step in for the boy’s sake. As the two men grow closer, their friendship starts to blur into something deeper, complicating Seth’s new relationship and forcing him to confront what — and who — he really wants. When red flags appear with Seth’s boyfriend, the choice becomes clear: it’s Calvin he trusts, and Calvin he’s falling for.

This story had such a strong, undeniable pull between Calvin and Seth — the kind of connection that only grows deeper as their lives and families slowly merge. Watching them navigate everything from Seth’s increasingly troubling boyfriend situation to Calvin suddenly becoming guardian to Braeden added so many rich layers to their relationship. The emotional stakes were high, and every feeling was beautifully described and easy to connect with. I loved how their bond shifted from irritation to friendship to something much more meaningful, all while juggling kids, grief, healing, and the messy realities of starting over. Braeden’s storyline in particular brought so much heart, grounding Calvin in ways he never expected. A heartfelt, emotional read, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: To Touch the Light by E.M. Lindsey 4 of 5 stars

To Touch the Light

To Touch the Light by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mario Garcia, a lonely, overworked head chef with no holiday spirit, has only one soft spot: Viktor Popov, the half‑blind Russian dishwasher hiding a mysterious past. Viktor once lived a life of privilege but now keeps to the shadows, hoping no one notices his failing eyesight or his secrets. When Mario pulls him out of the cold one night and shows him genuine care, both men begin to realise that, despite their hard lives, they might be exactly what the other needs — especially under the gentle glow of the menorah.

This was a beautifully tender story built on a deep, undeniable connection between two men who both live outside what most people would call “normal.” What really stood out to me was the respect they showed each other from the very beginning — a quiet, steady recognition of the other’s worth, even when neither of them fully believed in their own. Their love and passion felt genuine and hard‑won, and I adored watching them slowly let themselves hope again. The emotional intimacy between them was wonderfully written, and it was easy to feel every moment of longing, fear, and warmth. I only wish we’d learned a bit more about Viktor’s past before he was forced to leave, especially something as simple as his surname. Still, their relationship was heartfelt and compelling, and I loved seeing them find exactly what they needed in each other. This was an XM story with mature content.
