These are my favourite books in 2021 in no particular order:
The White Death by JC Andrijeski
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08W9R5K2R
NYPD homicide vampire detective Nick Tanaka will do anything to keep his mate Wynter James safe and that would include selling his soul to his sire Brick and his dark underground group of vampires called the White Death. OMG - if I could give this 10 stars I would. My mind is totally blown and so buckle up and prepare for a fast-paced ride full of bombshells and a-ha moments. So much is finally clear and yet so much is still unresolved.

Detective Kate Morgan worked hard to get to that level and having come from a family of victims she stands up for the victim, abhors those that prey on them, and never backs down. So when Kate finds a connection between several cold cases to a recent case where a child's life is in jeopardy she'll make a deal with the devil if she has to in order to protect the child. Simon St. Laurent has a gift of the sight and knows that once he uses it he can never walk away. But when nightmares of his own past are triggered he just can't stand back and watch child after child being abused. So Simon vows to save the children even if it means he has to deal with critical and very cranky detective Kate Morgan.

Artificer Jackson Pryde and Mage Xander Wright were working in the mountain halls of the dvergar (dwarven people who mine for jewels and ore) when they find a cluster of the Chrysanthemysts.
