Review: One and the Flame by Milly Taiden 3 of 5 stars

One and the Flame (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 67)

One and the Flame by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Deimos Uannsvo is the leader of the Zehvrd dragon clutch on Nova Aurora and he has a problem with his cattle ranch as the cows are becoming sick and he needs help. Hope Oliver is a veterinary assistant on Earth and Gerri has asked her to come to Nova Aurora to help diagnose the cattle problem. She is determined to focus on the cattle and not the sexy dragon man as she is not there for love and will go home when it is resolved. Deimos knows that Hope is his mate as soon as he meets her but he needs to focus on saving his ranch before he convinced Hope to stay with him.

I enjoyed this story with the mystery of who or what was poisoning the cows and whether would Deimos be able to romance Hope enough to persuade her to stay with him. The mystery and the danger was fun to trace through their thought processes and the final confrontations were suitably dramatic. The conclusion was a bit quick and instalove like even with the mate bond tinkering with Hope's feelings. It was easy to read and understand. Contains some light mature content.

Review: Alpha Geek: Tripp by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Alpha Geek: Tripp

Alpha Geek: Tripp by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tripp Webster is into climbing and is about to do the big one - his next trip is to get to the top of Mount Everest. Snow Leopard shifter Amelia Fields works in the office of Nick Milan’s protection agency and so when a client requests someone with mountain climbing experience she is the one for the job but she did not expect the client to be her fated mate. Tripp needs protection because a family drama has created some dangers in his life. His father left him with a fortune as well as a secret son to deal with. Too bad his mysterious brother wasn’t willing to share. Assuming that Tripp has not survived the "accident" which happened on the way up they did not account for the special shifter serum that the snow leopard is carrying so that now he can show them who the real alpha is.

I enjoyed this story with the efficient and organised Amelia and the professional and practised Tripp who had been on countless climbs before. I loved their instant connection and that they were able to still concentrate on ensuring that they had the right equipment. I liked the way that she protected him as much as she could on the climb up before the attack when she did what she needed to do in order to keep him alive. Easy to read, feel and understand. Review: Flame it Up by Milly Taiden 3 of 5 stars

Flame it Up (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 62)

Flame it Up by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human Mazie Kettler left home to make the world a better place taking assignments on projects worldwide. She has heard of Gerri Wilder and wasn't sure that she believed all the stories about her. Then she meets dragon shifter Pyrus Bloodmoon who came flying into their camp to save the day and it made her heart beat faster. Pyrus is doing his best to protect his employees from the actions of his ex-business partner but when his fated mate comes into his life she becomes the centre of his priorities. The ex-business partner uses Mazie as a pawn in his twisted game testing how far Pyrus will go to save her but he is willing to fight to the death to save her.

This story had the usual ingredients of Gerri giving the right environment for them to meet, leaving it up to the shifter to woo his mate, some crossed wires and mortal danger before a battle and time to make up. I did find Mazie quite irritating and did wonder if she took him seriously at one point. I was pleased that they finally got the HEA that they deserved especially with how it ended. Review: Hammer by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Hammer (Caged and Dangerous, #7)

Hammer by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dragon shifter Hammer Vykovsky is in Supermax for a crime he didn't commit and is given a chance at freedom if he goes on a mission to retrieve Charlie Jackson who had been working on a site documenting the remains and artefacts that had been found. Having found her it became apparent that she was his mate, his dragon wanted her, but he could see no reason as to why she would want him as she was so smart and independent with a future. Can he lower his walls enough for her to see the real him?

I loved this story with the original danger to Charlie, the escape and the twists and turns as they moved towards their pickup point. Their relationship developed as Charlie was determined to find out more about him and to understand him which fit well with her job and her personality. I was heartbroken when she had so many doubts and the way that her independence made sure that she went and did what was her career as well as her passion but thankfully Hammer and her Dad were able to have a way that they could be together. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains some mature content.

Review: Fanging Up by Milly Taiden 3 of 5 stars

Fanging Up (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 63)

Fanging Up by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Panther shifter and billionaire Devin Mitchell has everything except a mate which s fine by him as he has learnt that people can't be trusted and that darkness can lurk even if the most trusted of friends. When he meets Kate he is tempted to throw all of his trust issues to the wind and give her his heart. With dreams of becoming an interior designer, Kate Reese is stuck working in a discount furniture store. Having had a lifetime f bouncing between divorced parents she always felt like the odd one out and she had as many trust issues as Devin. Loving him should not be possible but her heart is arguing to say he can be trusted. Gerri Wilder can bring them together but even the fated mate sense won't be able to guarantee they can overcome their trust issues - that is going to take hard work and determination.

I enjoyed this story although I did find the introspection and trust issues a little tedious at times which were laboured as the storyline went on. The shifter fight was quite interesting as I thought that it would turn Kate away from shifters given their violence. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.

Review: Wounded Soldiers Trilogy by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Wounded Soldiers Trilogy

Wounded Soldiers Trilogy by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great value Trilogy of stories around how three wounded soldiers found love against the odds:

A Hero’s Pride

After one bad marriage and too many useless relationships, Kayla Santomas finally let her best friend set her up for a blind date thinking that dinner was all she had to get through. Ryan Mitchell lost part of his leg in Afghanistan and has lost interest in going on dates or even in being aroused. Finally, he agrees to a blind date arranged by his brother.

I enjoyed this story with the two wounded people finding that they were capable of being attracted to someone else and could even allow themselves to fall in love - but first they did need to actually try. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

A Hero Scarred

Having gotten rid of one jerk of a man, Jessie Tavarez is not interested in finding another. So she gives in to going to stay on holiday as arranged by her friend Kayla. When there she has an unexpected first date with a soldier who has been physically scarred by war who then turns out to be the first man to make her realise not all men are the same. Matt Payne is an injured ex-serviceman who has been hiding his physical scars from his family and women who will just offer him sympathy. Discovering he has been set up finds him having dinner with the first woman he physically and emotionally connected with since his injuries.

I enjoyed this story with the two damaged people who may have made mistakes but actually were very compatible if they were to give themselves a chance. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

A Hero For Sale

After being badly scarred and then dumped by his fiancee, Captain Nick Gates is not interested in being sold in a bachelor auction but unfortunately for him, it is happening. When he is won by Addy they both cannot fight their attraction but they cannot fight the fact that she is related to someone who he despises. Maybe they can focus on falling in love things will work themselves out, but of course, they will find out that in love and war everything goes.

This was a lovely story with a great twist in their history and what happens in the present. Everything could have gone badly wrong and so I was thrilled when everything actually did work out. Easy to read and understand, contains some mature content.

Review: Alpha Geek: Levi by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Alpha Geek: Levi

Alpha Geek: Levi by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wolf shifter Hannah Tyson works for Nick in the shifter protection agency and likes to be thought of as a "lone wolf" as it is far more predictable than any human interaction. But when Nick offers her a great case she is happy to leave her sanctuary. The client Levi is really different from what she expected - could love be something for her after all? Tech genius and human Levi Sandoval is trying to create a legacy outside of his father's shadow but he never realised that creating drones would put him in the sights of vigilantes. Needing a bodyguard he was not prepared for it to be a gorgeous badass woman. Can Hannah trust the fated mate instinct when Levi after a fatal injury is helped by the serum into a big, bad alpha tiger he wants to claim his mate as well as take on the bad guys head-on will she join him?

I enjoyed this story with the new drone technology, the fated mate scenario, the doubts, the serum use and the dramatic way that everything ended. Levi was definitely one of the really nice people in the world and it was great to see that he could change course when things weren't just for good. Easy to read and understand, there was mature content as well as some light violence.

Review: Gripp by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Gripp (Caged and Dangerous, #6)

Gripp by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Panther shifter Gripp did what was right and due to crooked politicians ended up in the Supermax jail. He is then given a mission to earn his freedom - to go and rescue a female journalist who just happens to be his mate. You might think that they have nothing in common, but they have more than you could imagine and as you say, opposites attract.

I loved this story. It was great to see him meet a strong and determined sassy woman who was not prepared to give in. It was great to see them butt heads and how she was actually kicking ass and doing everything she could to hold her own. I enjoyed their journey to freedom and how they were able to work together to get past the obstacles. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.

Lexi is unlucky in love and so when Gerri Wilder tells her that there is another possibility that includes fated mates, shifters and going to an alien planet, cynical Lexit thinks this is ner one shot at finding something new. Rao is the leader of the Shadowed Rock Pride or lion shifters on Nova Aurora. He never asked to be matched by Gerri but King Alyx didn't give him a choice in the matter. Lexi thinks Rao is too good to be true and Rao thinks that he doesn’t deserve his own happily ever after. Can these two broken lovers piece each other’s hearts together and become extraordinary or will they both go back to their ordinary lives?

I enjoyed this story with the proud lion shifter having to step down and give her the real him to show human Lexi that he was understanding and caring too. Alpha Geek: Maverick

Alpha Geek: Maverick by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lion shifter Pilar Douglas works as a bodyguard while she supports her younger sister and is allocated an assignment to protect scientist Maverick Wilcox but what she did not expect was to walk into the roof and find her mate. Maverick is working on a cure for the disease that killed his sister but he has been noticed by the wrong people a local group wants him to use his brain on their schemes but he just wants to get closer to Pilar so he can date her. When Maverick is poisoned he is ready to die rather than agree to help the bad guys with a cure. Pilar has the agency's special serum on hand to save him and neutralise the poison. Now Maverick is a big bad alpha shifter and he is the one calling the shots!

I enjoyed this story with the fated mates, the bad guys and the desperate battle to save the geek so that he can continue his important work. I enjoyed the way that even before the transformation he was attracted to her in a major way. Full of danger and drama there were also some tender moments too. Easy to read and understand. Roar Enforcement (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 60)

Roar Enforcement by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lion shifter and billionaire businessman Jake has long since given up finding his mate but agrees to a data set up by Gerri Wilder but his date human Casey is a philosophy major who likes to go to poetry slams and so he is like a fish out of water. However, she has a dazzling smile, and is beautiful and having met her she is also his mate. Casey doubts that he has anything in common with her and has no idea what he could have in common with her, but is willing to see how far things go (expecting it to not last that long). However, they do both like a deep meaningful conversation, midnight strolls under the stars and monster trucks (really?). Can they find the HEA they so richly deserve?

I enjoyed this story with two very different people finding a common ground (some of which was very unusual) that gave them a more solid basis for happiness than might be anticipated. Easy to read and understand, it was great to read something where life was not easy, they both made mistakes, but it was possible to move past them to find happiness. Contains some mature content.

Flame to Please (Paranormal Dating Agency, #59)

Flame to Please by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human Emmy Nelson is a romance writer who has cancelled her wedding after finding the groom and her best friend in bed together. With the expensive honeymoon to Hawaii paid in full, she heeds the advice of her good friend Gerri Wilder and goes anyway so that she can have a much-needed getaway. Kingston Conrad is the heir to the Pacific Dragos Clan and he gets a phone call from Gerri to tell him that his mate is on the island. As soon as he meets her he knows and cannot resist her even though there are some in the clan who want to keep them apart. He will protect her to the death - let's hope it doesn't get that far!

I enjoyed this story with the subtle way that Gerri enabled Emmy to go to Hawaii, the discord in the dragon clan and the way that everything was resolved. I loved that Kingston was a gentleman and stuck to that policy even when it must have been very hard for him to do that. Emmy was fortunate that her job could be done anywhere. This geek will convince his tigress that compassion and love aren’t weaknesses, and that love is worth taking a chance on.

I enjoyed this story with the different problems on Tucker's and Myra's sides. I liked the way that they supported each other and it was at times as if one was the cheerleader for the others. A nice dramatic story which contained plenty of surprises for everyone involved. An easy-to-read story which contains some mature content.

The Ice is Right (Paranormal Dating Agency, #57)

The Ice is Right by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After years of doing the same commute to the same job, Joy Roberson has a nudge from friend Gerri Wilder and so she applies for a job in Alaska in a place called Polar Point. What she never expected there was to find a hot romance. Adam Caldwell is a pilot for Polar Point Logistics and has been alone since he left his clan behind and so had no hope of finding love let alone his fated mate until he meets the new woman at work. However, fate appears to not want them together and so is prepared to sacrifice his shifter half in order to go to Florida and be with her - the question is can he live with that price or will it kill him in the end?

I enjoyed this story with the move to Alaska, the romance and then drama she found there followed by all the events back in Florida as well as in Alaska again. There was plenty of danger and drama as well as some very raw emotions in this story. At the centre of it all was a love story between Joy and Adam with a little help from Gerri. Barrel was imprisoned in the special jail for shifters for killing the people who had killed his family and is now freed in order to go on a mission to save Eva from people who have captured her to work for her in the sex trade. Can they get the HEA they deserve at the end of this wild adventure?

I really enjoyed this story with the dramatic moments at the hands of evil people, the resourceful Eva and the determined Barrel who would do anything to protect her. When they are together their passion was the brightness that both of their lives needed. There was a lot of danger and drama in this story, as well as mature content as they experienced off-the-charts passion together. Easy to read and understand I was swept away in the story.

Flame on You by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Finn Levine is an alpha dragon and is happy living his life moving from one adventure to another - the last thing he wants is a mate to tie him down. Human Willa Prentice is a travel blogger and doesn't need a permanent address or a man to be happy as she is just a free spirit. With her trusty duffel called Stu she feels that it is better to be free to climb a cliff than let a man in. Then Gerr Wilder introduces Finn to Willa at a party and everything changes as the pair of adventure-loving fated mates go on an adventure together. However, they need to survive long enough to learn that falling in love with each other is the best adventure.

I enjoyed this story with them both so reticent, then Finn accepted what was happening between them only for Willa to be even more hesitant. Of course, there has to be some danger to threaten one or both of them and it was great that they were able to rescue and give a chance to their relationship which they were never going to be able to avoid. I loved how he tried so hard to be respectful and yet still failed when he let his emotions take control. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

Fang to Rights (Paranormal Dating Agency, #56)

Fang to Rights by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Social media influencer Olivia tries to promote up-and-coming artists and is not afraid of going against the bigwigs who are the gatekeepers to the industry - the worst of which is Henry Darrow. Then she and Henry are set up on a blind date by Gerri Wilder. As soon as Henry touches Olivia he realises that she is his mate and he releases that the only way she will have anything to do with him is if he changes his ways and finds a way to compromise. Not being a shifter Olivia is not affected by that but she is pleasantly surprised when he is not as bad as she thought and was even starting to want him more than her next breath. When an unhinged shifter artist targets Olivia for not putting him on her podcast Henry realises that there is far more at stake and he will do anything at any cost to protect her.

I enjoyed this story which was a nice addition to the Paranormal Dating Agency series of books. I liked that Henry had to make some fairly major changes for her and that at the same time their viewpoints were not so far apart they just went about it in a different way. As always there are crossed wires and a threat which Henry managed to counter quite well. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

Flame Difference (Paranormal Dating Agency, #55)

Flame Difference by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Azura Morrow has a family estate in shambles and her little brother is close to being a juvenile delinquent and thrown in jail. Then a chance meeting with Gerri Wilder results in a promise and plan to help turn the estate around. Onyx is a dragon shifter on Nova Aurora and is in no hurry to find a mate his friends have persuaded him to speak to Gerri Wilder who then calls to say she has found his mate. So Onyx needs to put his doubts aside and travel to Earth where he sets eyes on the curvy beauty and knows he will never be the same. But he soon learns that she won't make any time for anything loving until she can keep her brother on the straight and narrow - and Onyx is going to have to find a way to help him so that he can romance Azura and somehow get her to stay with him on his planet.

I enjoyed this story with much of the danger and drama involving the brother and not the sister. It was a nice change from a story just focused on the female. I felt that Onyx was very tolerant as I could have seen him being far more strict with her brother but it was great to see him treating her with such great care and consideration. It was great to have them experience a HEA and I enjoyed reading some more about Nova Aurora.

Saxon (Alpha Geek #15)

Saxon by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Investigative journalist Saxon stumbles upon a secret that has him on the other side of Nick's shifter protection agency. Can they find a common ground before it is too late? Shifter Genesis has always taken care of herself but luck ran out when she was locked up for murder even though it was self-defence. Nick helps her to be released as long as she works for him. Never normally a problem but the geek she is investigating is cute and her fated mate. He finds out about a secret serum that can turn humans into shifters and he has some decisions to make - his new beautiful sassy secretary is a shifter and she just saved his life but she just made the decision to use the serum on him to save him and he needs to decide whether to forgive her and to keep it a secret or not.

I liked this story. It took a little while to get used to Genesis as she was a bit abrupt but there was no denying their attraction and that he now needed to do a radical about-turn on what he was going to be and how his life will be in the future. There was definitely danger and drama in this story with some almost comical moments involving Genesis and her attempts to work for Saxon. Easy to read and understand. Contains just a little mature content.
