Review: Bratva's Mercy by Gianni Holmes 3 of 5 stars

Bratva's Mercy

Bratva's Mercy by Gianni Holmes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sergei can’t stop watching Leo, the grieving man whose husband was murdered only weeks ago — a murder Sergei helped hide. He knows Leo should see him as a monster, yet he aches for the moment Leo finally lets him in. When that happens, Sergei gives him everything, even as others insist Leo is only using him. Real or not, Sergei is already lost. Leo is his.

I enjoyed this story, but I didn’t quite love it. Sergei was the highlight for me — the way he loved, protected, and cared for Leo was genuinely moving. But Leo himself was harder to connect with. For most of the book, it felt like he was using Sergei, whether for revenge over his husband’s death or simply for sex, and that made their relationship difficult to fully invest in. As the story unfolded, it became clear that Leo’s marriage hadn’t been good, which made his need for revenge feel pointless and dangerously self‑destructive. I wanted to love this book, but I struggled with those choices and the emotional imbalance between them. I’m really hoping the next book gives Sergei the kindness and clarity he deserves and offers a more balanced conclusion to their story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Hazard by Eden Finley 5 of 5 stars

Hazard

Hazard by Eden Finley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hazard joins Mike Bravo Ops hoping to meet the godfather his father adored, but instead finds Decaf cold, distant, and nothing like the man described in those journals — despite Hazard’s inconvenient attraction to him. Decaf, still haunted by the loss of Hazard’s father, wants Hazard far away for his own safety, but Hazard’s stubbornness forces him into the protector role he promised. Their growing connection becomes tangled with grief, danger, and the ghost of the man who once bound them both.

A bittersweet story that carries two powerful threads with the intense, complicated relationship between Hazard and Decaf, and the emotional ending of the Mike Bravo Ops series itself. Both arcs are full of big emotions and heavy feelings, though the strongest moments come from watching Hazard and Decaf navigate their grief, history, and the fragile connection growing between them. The series ending hit hard. It felt sad to see these kind, loyal, tough men forced to flee for their lives and disappear, especially after everything they’ve survived. Their final chapters were moving, painful, and deeply human giving a farewell that lingers. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Grumpy Gus by Athena Steller 3 of 5 stars

Grumpy Gus: A Daddy's Boy short story

Grumpy Gus: A Daddy's Boy short story by Athena Steller
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Avery returns three years after the Daddy’s Boy series, facing big life changes that always make him anxious. Now finished with school and committed to working at the Canine Companion Camp, he’s ready for his next chapter — supported by his Daddy and their found family. That journey includes responding to a surprising, important question Jace suddenly asks.

This was such a sweet short story, the kind that just makes you smile. I loved getting an update on Jace and Avery, and seeing through Gus just how skilled and successful Avery has become at training and matching assistance dogs — it added a lovely, heartwarming layer to the story. The ending was perfect, especially the big question Jace asks and Avery’s adorable reaction. A gentle, feel‑good revisit with characters who continue to grow in all the right ways. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

** Please note that this takes place three years after the end of the Daddy's boy series.

Review: Bailey by Ella Frank 4 of 5 stars

Bailey

Bailey by Ella Frank
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Craig Bailey has always lived by strict rules and a clear sense of right and wrong — until he meets Henri Boudreaux, a mysterious bad boy full of secrets. Henri is exactly the kind of man who could break Bailey’s heart, yet his vulnerability pulls Bailey in. As their connection grows, Bailey learns that love isn’t so black and white.

This story felt like a beautiful exploration of trust, love, and all the shades of grey that exist between right and wrong. I loved that we were taken on the same emotional journey as Bailey and Henri, learning alongside them as they navigated the complexities of Henri’s past and what it meant for their future together. The book was full of big emotions and heartfelt moments, and watching them work through their histories while building something real made the relationship feel deeply earned. A powerful, emotional read about choosing connection even when the path isn’t simple. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Omega Captive of the Bad Boy Dragon by Wendy Rathbone 4 of 5 stars

Omega Captive of the Bad Boy Dragon

Omega Captive of the Bad Boy Dragon by Wendy Rathbone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cassius is a powerless set omega trapped on a dragon breeding ranch, until dragon shifter Malin rents him at a party — a moment that feels more like rescue than danger. Malin, a wealthy playboy with anger issues and a broken relationship with his father, unexpectedly finds himself wanting to help Cassius. Their story becomes both Malin’s redemption and a romance between two imperfect people who fit together perfectly.

I loved this story. Watching Malin learn compassion and actively educate himself about set omegas — and what life on a dragon breeding ranch was truly like — gave the whole book so much heart. His growing understanding, paired with the peace he found living with Cassius, opened the door for him to finally reach out to his father, and that emotional shift was beautiful to see. The story is full of big feelings and raw emotion, with both men working through their histories while slowly building something real together. Their relationship felt meaningful, healing, and deeply earned. A wonderful blend of character growth and romance. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: Henri by Ella Frank 3 of 3 stars

Henri

Henri by Ella Frank
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Henri Boudreaux has never lived a clean, simple life. As the son of a criminal and Priest’s ex‑boyfriend, trouble follows him everywhere. But things get truly messy when he ends up in bed with Officer Craig Bailey — the very law he’s spent years dodging. Henri’s no good man, and Bailey is about to learn exactly how bad he can be.

This one missed the mark for me. While there was plenty of passion and physical intensity between Henri and Bailey, I felt the story didn’t balance it with enough talking, emotional exploration, or deeper connection. They never really unpacked their thoughts or feelings as they got closer, and by the end Bailey still didn’t know what Henri actually did for a living or the full truth about his connection to Priest. The suspense and chemistry were there, but I wanted more insight into who they were beneath all the heat. I’m really hoping the next book digs into those missing pieces and gives their relationship the depth it deserves. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Burton (Special Operations Sitter by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Burton (Special Operations Sitter

Burton (Special Operations Sitter by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Burton and Anderson protect Talia and her triplets after a violent attack, while a gentle romance grows between Burton and nurse Sammy. As danger escalates, Sammy helps uncover the dark truth about Talia’s husband and his ties to a global criminal network.

A gripping, layered mystery sits at the heart of this story, with the people behind the attack on Talia hidden behind a web of lies that only grows more complex each time Burton, Sammy, and the team uncover a new piece of information. Every answer seems to reveal another hidden organisation, another secret, another danger lurking just out of sight. Amid all this tension, the slow, steady development of Burton and Sammy’s relationship is a real highlight. Their willingness to support Talia and her triplets while still carving out small moments for each other made their connection feel genuine and earned. As the emotional stakes rose and the truth became harder to untangle, their bond deepened beautifully. Plenty of feeling, plenty of suspense, and a mystery that keeps expanding in unexpected ways — a very satisfying read. This was an MF story with a little mature content at the end.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: Thin Ice by Declan Rhodes 5 of 5 stars

Thin Ice

Thin Ice by Declan Rhodes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nolan Mercer is a veteran hockey star who’s spent years turning pain into performance, but when a man tied to his old team dies trying to reach him, the Guardians quietly assign Elias Ward to protect him during the Stanley Cup Final. What should be a simple job spirals fast: Nolan remembers dangerous things about a rookie’s long‑ago death, his body is failing, and someone powerful wants the past to stay buried. As attacks escalate, Elias finds himself falling for the man he’s meant to guard, even as Nolan refuses to stop digging for the truth — a truth that could get them both killed.

A great suspense story wrapped around a romance, this book pulled me in from the start. I loved Nolan and Elias’s relationship and the way they managed to stay connected and supportive even with all the pressure surrounding them both. The medical details felt believable, and the tie‑in with ice hockey made everything even more grounded. Their thoughts and emotions were easy to feel and understand, and I found myself fully invested as the danger escalated and the truth came to light. I loved that in the end everything worked out, giving them the well‑deserved HEA they’d fought so hard for. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Apricity by Paulina Ian-Kane 5 of 5 stars

Apricity

Apricity by Paulina Ian-Kane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luca Neto is focused on one thing: destroying the Enzino family. Kidnapping their mafia prince wasn’t part of the plan, but it leaves him stuck dealing with Art Enzino — tiny, chaotic, flirtatious, and tied to the people who ruined Luca’s life. Art may look like a tempting, elvish twink, but he’s still the enemy: son of the man who destroyed Luca’s family and brother of the monster who scarred him. Luca has waited years for revenge, and he won’t let Art — or anyone — get in the way of finally bringing peace to his parents.

I loved this dark, intense story, especially the way it blended violence, vengeance, and the raw, brutal passion that Luca used to vent his hatred toward the Enzino family. The violent hate‑sex was a deliberate part of his character — a release valve for everything he’d endured — and it fit the tone of the book perfectly. Art’s personality was wonderfully complex, shaped by years of neglect and abuse, and it made his chaotic behaviour feel real rather than exaggerated. Both Luca and Art might seem unhinged on the surface, but the story makes it clear they’re products of their pasts, and that depth made their dynamic compelling. The whole book was packed with emotion and feeling, easy to understand and easy to get swept up in. A dark, dramatic, addictive read. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Boy Toy Not Included by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Boy Toy Not Included

Boy Toy Not Included by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kuba is supposed to be just another job — the assignment that finally lets Diesel settle near his mom. But once he reaches Seattle, Kuba proves far more complicated than expected. He needs Diesel’s help in ways that go well beyond protection, leaving Diesel unsure where “home” really is anymore. For Kuba, having Diesel around brings new distractions and dangers, and suddenly it’s not just his own life at risk.

This book was filled with passion, both in Kuba’s fierce drive to beat Dread and in the way he and Diesel slowly fell in love. I loved the danger and drama woven through the story — from the threats of Dread’s supporters to the tension around revealing Kuba’s sexuality — all of it added real weight to their journey. Their relationship was wonderful to follow, especially as they worked through tough moments and still came out stronger on the other side. The writing made everything easy to read, feel, and understand, and I was fully swept up in their fight for something better together. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Princess, the Prick & the Priest by Ella Frank 5 of 5 stars

The Princess, the Prick & the Priest

The Princess, the Prick & the Priest by Ella Frank
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Robbie knows everyone doubted his relationship, calling it too complicated and too messy — which only makes it sweeter to prove them wrong. Julien and Priest are brilliant, sexy, and absolutely devoted to him, even if convincing his loud, opinionated Italian family is its own challenge. After everything they’ve survived together, Robbie is determined to claim their well‑earned happily ever after… and with his men, there are always a few surprises waiting.

I loved this final chapter in Robbie, Julien, and Priest’s journey with a beautifully emotional conclusion that gives their love the well‑earned happily ever after that they’ve fought so hard for. The story is packed with deep feelings, raw moments, and the kind of emotional intensity that guarantees a few tears along the way. There was absolutely no need to worry about Robbie's family as they accepted their relationship with the same confidence that they accepted Robbie's sexuality and personality. The epilogue was perfect, offering exactly the right ending for them and leaving me with that warm, satisfied feeling that their story landed exactly where it should. And now I’m genuinely intrigued to see where the series goes next, especially with new characters stepping into the spotlight. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Review: Priest by Ella Frank 5 of 5 stars

Priest

Priest by Ella Frank
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Joel Priestley — once Joel Donovan, son of a feared and violent man — has spent his life trying to escape the darkness of his father’s legacy. At eighteen he remade himself as Priest, determined to right those wrongs and convinced no one could ever love the son of a monster. But everything changed when Julien, the thief who stole his heart, and Robbie, the sweetheart who lit up his world, became his family. Priest let himself believe in love… until danger reminded him that enemies don’t stay buried. This begins the story of what Priest will do to protect the Princess and the Prick — and how far he’ll go to defend what’s his.

I loved this story and all the drama and emotion woven through it as Robbie learned the truth about Priest’s past and as that past finally came to a head. Watching the three of them face what was forced upon them — each showing their strength, loyalty, and love in different ways — made the whole book feel powerful and deeply moving. The emotions were clear and easy to feel, and I was completely invested in these men and their relationship, hoping they’d find the resolution they needed for the happy ending they all deserved. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Review: Julien by Ella Frank 5 of 5 stars

Julien

Julien by Ella Frank
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Julien Thornton seems to have everything — fame, a thriving career, a loving husband — but for eight years he’s been carrying a secret that only a few people know. Behind the public charm and celebrity shine, he battles a painful truth every day with the support of his husband, Joel Priestley, and now their boyfriend, Robbie Bianchi. But Robbie doesn’t know what Julien is fighting, or what happened all those years ago. And with the anniversary of Julien’s sister’s death approaching, the moment for honesty is running out. The question becomes whether the princess can be forgiven by the prick the way the priest once did.

I loved this story and the deep emotions running through every chapter as Julien, Joel, and Robbie continued settling into their relationship. The way Robbie and Joel supported Julien while he worked through the grief and complicated feelings surrounding his sister’s death was beautifully handled — tender, patient, and full of heart. Everything was written so clearly that I could feel and understand every moment right alongside them, and I was completely swept up in their journey. A powerful, emotional instalment that left me eager to keep following these three men. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Review: Taken by the Lord of the Nocturne Court by K.A. Merikan 3 of 5 stars

Taken by the Lord of the Nocturne Court

Taken by the Lord of the Nocturne Court by K.A. Merikan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Luke, a lonely small‑town guy with a rough past, is suddenly claimed by Kyran, an elven prince from the Nightmare Realm who insists Luke is his destined Dark Companion. Kyran drags him to a dangerous, moonlit palace where beasts and scheming courtiers await — and a full‑moon wedding is already planned. Luke fights the allure of Kyran’s darkness, devotion, and seductive charm, but the longer he stays, the more he wonders whether this gilded cage — and the prince who wants him — might be exactly what he’s needed all along.

I struggled with this story, especially at the start — I found myself feeling more annoyed with Luke than empathetic, and I almost set the book aside twice. After taking breaks and reading other things, I was able to come back and finish it. What kept me going was the scene setting, which was vivid and atmospheric, and the descriptions of the supernatural creatures and characters, which were genuinely good. Those elements were the strongest part of the book for me. The romance felt lacking for much of the story, and that made it harder to stay fully invested, but the worldbuilding was rich enough to carry me through to the end. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Robbie by Ella Frank 5 of 5 stars

Robbie

Robbie by Ella Frank
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Robbie Bianchi, king of bad decisions, finds himself confessing his vulnerabilities to Julian “The Prick” and Joel “The Priest” after a lonely night, a pitcher of Margaritas and one too many Bitter Bitches cocktails. Love and rules don’t mix well for Robbie, and this moment of honesty sets the stage for the messy, emotional story of the priest, the princess, and the prick.

I loved this story and the undeniable connection between Robbie, Julian, and Joel as they slowly worked through what it really meant to blend their lives. Robbie’s caution felt so genuine, and the steady assurances from both men made their developing bond even more compelling. I also appreciated that all three carried pain from their pasts, even if Robbie’s was the focus here — it gave their relationship depth and made every step forward feel earned. The writing was clear, emotional, and easy to feel and understand, pulling me right into their world. I’m already looking forward to the next book so I can understand these men even better and see where their journey leads. This was an MMM story with mature content and polyamory.

Locked In Love

Locked In Love by Lark Taylor
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ash, a vampire with a terrible track record in love, turns to Cupid for help finding the mate Fate hasn’t delivered. When he meets Lochlan — a tall, Scottish water mage waiting for their escape‑room date — he’s convinced it must be a mistake. But locked in together, Ash starts to wonder if Cupid really has found the perfect match after all.

This was such a sweet novella, with Cupid stepping in to help two paranormal men realise they’re the perfect match for each other. The escape‑room setting was a fun touch — playful, low‑pressure, and the ideal way for Ash and Lochlan to get to know one another without all the usual supernatural intensity. Their connection felt warm and charming, and the Cupid‑guided matchmaking added a lovely, lighthearted vibe to the whole story. A gentle, feel‑good read that leaves you smiling. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Librarian's Familiar by T.J. Nichols 5 of 5 stars

The Librarian's Familiar

The Librarian's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

August North returns to Claw Lake after twenty years, still carrying the secrets that once drove him away—he’s a polar‑bear shifter, and he’s gay. With his sports career over, he’s drawn back to the Alaskan wilderness even if it means facing his past. Charlie Quinlan arrives as the new librarian, though he’s really there to contain threats from the nearby paranormal prison. When wild magic stirs, the two outsiders are pulled together by danger, instinct, and an unwanted fated‑mate bond. In a tight‑knit paranormal town, they must decide whether belonging—and each other—is worth the risk.

I loved this story. The mix of a witch‑librarian who’s also the last line of defence for a supernatural prison and a polar‑bear shifter who spent years closeted—both as a shifter and a gay man in the ice‑hockey world made for such a compelling, emotional read. All the layers of complication between them, and around them, gave the romance real depth: their fated‑mate bond, their personal histories, and the growing threat facing everyone in Claw Lake. There were great moments of danger and drama balanced beautifully with gentleness, affection, and the slow building of trust. The writing was clear, easy to follow, and full of emotion, making it simple to feel everything right alongside them. A wonderfully engaging addition to the series. This was an MM story with mature content.

Santa Just for One Day

Santa Just for One Day by Declan Rhodes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Noel North has lost his Christmas spirit—until carefree Jack Frost drifts into his life and rekindles it. But Jack’s father is a ruthless developer determined to shut down Yuletide Valley’s hospital and erase the town’s traditions. As Noel and Jack grow closer, Noel steps into his late father’s Santa suit and joins Jack to fight back. Together, they race to save the hospital and protect the town’s holiday magic before Jack’s father destroys Christmas for good.

A really nice Christmas short story with a gentle emotional core. I enjoyed watching Noel confront everything he’d tried to leave behind in Yuletide Valley — his complicated feelings about his hometown, the weight of his father’s legacy, and what it truly means to step into the Santa role he’s being asked to take over. His growing connection with Jack adds another layer, especially as Noel has to face how Jack’s family ties clash with his own history. Overall, it’s a festive, easy read with a warm holiday atmosphere and a satisfying blend of personal reflection and budding romance. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Shadow King by S. Rodman 5 of 5 stars

Shadow King

Shadow King by S. Rodman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Felix summons Dis, a dangerous shadow king who once led a coup — though Dis did burn down his flat and ruin his emo records, so Felix feels justified. What he didn’t expect was how attractive, furious, and powerful Dis would be… or that the binding spell would trap him in Felix’s tiny Bristol flat until Felix decides otherwise. Now the ancient shadow king is stuck above a coffee shop, simmering with indignation while Felix cheerfully calls him Disney. It might be the worst idea Felix has ever had — or the best.

I loved this book with emo witch Felix and the chaotic, irresistible disaster of summoning Dis. Felix wanted a confrontation and maybe even a little payback after Dis wrecked his home and upended his life, but what he got instead was a slow‑burn connection that neither of them expected. Watching their feelings develop, bit by bit, was incredibly satisfying, especially since admitting those emotions took time for both of them. I also adored Brian/Bunny, the new character who added charm, humour, and intrigue. I can’t wait to see what happens with him in the next book. This story was packed with danger, drama, emotions, and feelings, all wrapped up in a magical, messy, wonderfully intense dynamic between Felix and Dis. A fantastic instalment in the series. This was an MM story with mature content.

The Thief's Familiar

The Thief's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Agent Kavi Dhillon has spent two years chasing the elusive thief Wraith, and their latest collision comes when both go after a possibly real phoenix egg. Wraith is Adrian Tanner, a master thief who lives in the shadows, and Kavi is the tiger‑shifter agent determined to catch him. When their worlds collide, danger, secrets, and a fated‑mates spark turn the job into something far more complicated.

I didn’t enjoy the start of this instalment as much as the others in the series, but it definitely picked up once the mystery, danger, and drama intensified. What really stood out was the way the story showed that even with a mate bond, a relationship still needs real work, communication, and effort to thrive — something I appreciated seeing explored so clearly. There were plenty of emotions and feelings throughout as the two mates navigated their connection, especially once the stakes rose and the investigation deepened. By the end, the story had built into something engaging and satisfying, reminding me why I enjoy this series. This was an MM story with mature content.

Homemade Kisses by C.W. Gray

Demarien and his three omega friends return to Myrtlewood Bay to chase their dream of opening an inn and restaurant after Aunt Dahlia’s death. Just as they start rebuilding their lives, Demarien’s long‑time crush Boone Harding comes back to town after leaving the army, giving them an unexpected second chance. But the inn is a wreck, Dahlia’s inheritance is missing, and renovations are far harder than they imagined. As obstacles mount, Demarien and Boone try to build something real — hoping their relationship, and the omegas’ shared dream, can survive the chaos.

This was such a warm, emotional start to the series, built around the strong friendship between Demarien and his omega friends and the undeniable connection he shares with his childhood crush, Boone. Their bond feels instantly familiar and tender, and the way it grows alongside the omegas’ shared dream gives the story real heart. I loved the supporting cast around them — family, townsfolk, and friends who made Myrtlewood Bay feel lived‑in and real. The mix of rebuilding their lives, chasing their dreams, and navigating new love created a story full of emotions and feelings throughout. A lovely beginning to the series, and I can’t wait to see what happens to all of them next. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

In just a few minutes together, Trace feels a rare sense of safety, and for the first time, he can imagine a life where he doesn’t have to face everything alone.

This was such a sweet novella, centred on a sick little who was treated as something precious rather than broken, and a caregiving Daddy who made sure he always felt safe. I loved how Everett’s gentle, attentive care had such a powerful effect on Trace — he never stood a chance of not falling in love with him. The dynamic between them was tender and heart‑warming, and the story itself was the kind that pulls at the heartstrings while still making you smile. The Spy's Familiar

The Spy's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Orion “Tooth” Templeton finally gets the mission that could take down the Shadow Board — and give him the revenge he’s waited for. But he’s forced to work with two witches: his fated mate, who’s straight and doesn’t want him, and a secretive prince who tempts him in dangerous ways. As secrets unravel and the danger rises, Orion must choose who he wants to stand with — the mate who won’t let him go, or the prince who can only offer a life lived in the shadows.

This instalment really highlighted the undeniable connection between Orion and his fated mate Jacob, even though things were rocky at first as Jacob insisted he didn’t want Orion, yet they still had to work together. Adding the Prince into the assignment only complicated everything, especially as he and Orion connected purely for physical relief and muddied the emotional waters. I loved how the story pushed forward the conflict with the Shadow Board, giving us a clearer understanding of who they are and why they’re such a threat. There was plenty of danger and drama as the team uncovered secrets and pieced together the truth. Amid all that, the emotional tension between the two mates grew beautifully, with Jacob slowly accepting the undeniable bond between him and Orion. And the intrigue surrounding the Prince and his family added a delicious extra layer to the story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Another cosy paranormal mystery in Ravenstone, and I loved how Declan and Gideon continued to deepen their connection in this instalment. It all came together in a light, magical mystery that keeps the series feeling comforting and entertaining. This was an MM story.

This was a sweet Daddy story where Max finds his forever little girl, and I loved how naturally he kept Saylor calm and grounded. Their connection felt gentle and reassuring, with just enough spark to make their dynamic engaging. I also really enjoyed the way the other little girls supported each other when the team was deployed added a warm, communal touch to the story. There was a bit of danger and drama, but not a lot of deep emotions, making this a nice, quick read that focuses more on comfort and connection than heavy feelings. Rett thinks he’ll never see him again — until the man reappears right as Rett is about to give up, sticking close, causing chaos, and calling him “pipgeek” for reasons unknown. Having a hero with a villain complex glued to his side might keep him alive… but protecting his heart is a much harder fight.

I loved this story with the undeniable connection between Rett and his shadowy hero was gripping from the start, and the humour had me laughing out loud more than once. Rett’s tough, guardian might act like a hardened fighter, but he has a soft centre just for Rett, and that contrast made their dynamic irresistible. The plot was packed with danger and drama, especially as Rett kept stumbling into trouble and his hero kept saving him in the most intense, chaotic ways. There were also some genuinely moving moments, both in the slow build of their relationship and in the revelations about Rett’s past and how he ended up living on the streets. A dramatic, emotional, and unexpectedly funny story with a bond that’s impossible to ignore and so I was swept away from start to finish. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Bodyguard's Familiar by T.J. Nichols 4 of 5 stars

The Bodyguard's Familiar

The Bodyguard's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Moon Jae‑young (Jay), a mind‑reading witch, is assigned to protect Caleb Brammer, a razorback shifter who barely escaped an attack on his assassin family. Their forced proximity turns tense flirting into real heat, and Jae‑young soon discovers Caleb is his fated mate. Together, they hunt the killer while navigating dangerous family ties — wanting each other is the last thing they need, but exactly what they want.

This story was packed with action, danger, and drama, and I really enjoyed how Jay and Caleb started out fiery and defensive before slowly learning to trust each other. Their dynamic made every moment of forced proximity feel sharp and engaging. I loved how the different threads of the plot wove together — their growing relationship, the familiar bond, the revelations about their families, and the danger closing in around them. Watching them navigate all of that while figuring out what they meant to each other kept the tension high in the best way. A fast‑moving, dramatic story full of danger, drama, and emotion, with a relationship that builds beautifully as the stakes rise. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Friction by K.C. Wells 5 of 5 stars

Friction: A Forbidden MM Olympic Figure Skating Romance

Friction: A Forbidden MM Olympic Figure Skating Romance by K.C. Wells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luka is a tightly controlled skater whose life is built on obedience and medals, but seeing Dean Foster again in Milan shakes everything he’s tried to bury. Dean is confident and steady until Luka enters his life, turning conversations into habits and pulling them closer together. They come from different countries, different events, and different expectations, yet the Olympic Village keeps pushing them together. As media and Luka’s federation start paying attention, he has to decide whether risking everything he’s built is worth choosing something, and someone, for himself.

I loved this story and the way Luka and Dean were drawn together by a mutual attraction that neither of them could ignore — even though Luka’s federation and culture didn’t approve of him being gay, let alone being involved with Dean. Dean’s bi‑awakening was such a great touch, and Luka’s complete lack of past experience made their moments together feel even more special and intimate. I also adored the support from the other athletes in the Olympic Village, and Mila’s loyalty as Luka’s skating partner added warmth and strength to the narrative. The writing was excellent, with their thoughts and feelings clearly expressed and easy to understand. The emotions were beautifully described, making it effortless for me to feel them and be swept away. I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next in their story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Seahorse Prince's Mate by T.J. Nichols 2 of 5 stars

The Seahorse Prince's Mate

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Beau’s holiday diving trip turns unexpected when a fling with Kai — a first‑born twin seahorse shifter raised to lead — turns out to be a mate bond. Mating heat hits hard, leaving Kai pregnant and needing three months in the ocean. Beau has no idea how to handle a mate or upcoming twins, but he’s determined not to walk away, no matter how messy seahorse politics become.

I struggled with this novella because there were too many unanswered questions — especially around Kai’s twin brother and what role he actually took on, and whether Beau and Kai truly coped with being apart when most mates usually don’t. Those gaps made the story feel quick and lacking in detail. I did enjoy the premise and the characters, and the seahorse‑shifter world is fun, but overall it left me wanting more depth and clarity. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: Rook Takes Queen by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars

Rook Takes Queen

Rook Takes Queen by Michele Mills
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hallie Longwell escapes Chronos with dangerous information a powerful Pigment House wants buried, forcing her to seek protection from the Fever Brothers. The moment Rook scents her, he shields her like she’s something precious — convinced she’s his long‑awaited Bride. Hallie didn’t come looking for a mate; she came to save this family. But with House Vaszneth closing in and Rook becoming the one person she can’t imagine losing, her mission and her heart collide.

I enjoyed this story, especially the way it finally delivered more answers about why the Fever brothers’ parents were killed and who’s still threatening them. That extra world‑building depth was really satisfying. Hallie was a great addition — sensible, steady, and easy to like — and the gaming angle between her and Rook added a fun, unexpected layer to their connection. I do wish there were more emotions and feelings woven through the narrative, but overall it was an enjoyable read with solid plot movement and meaningful revelations about the family’s past. This was an MF book with mature content.

Review: The Firefighter's Familiar by TJ. Nichols 4 of 5 stars

The Firefighter's Familiar

The Firefighter's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Callum and Nas’s life is steady and happy until Callum rescues Rikar from a burning bar — and the kiss of life unexpectedly creates a familiar bond. Callum panics, because he already has a human fiancé and never wanted a mate. Rikar, a leopard seal shifter searching for belonging, is thrown into chaos again, and Nas must face the shock of discovering witches, shifters, and magic are real. Despite everything, he stays long enough to consider whether his heart might stretch to hold both his witch and his witch’s familiar.

The undeniable connection between all three of them is the heart of this story, and it’s especially striking because of how unusual Nas is in the way he handles the truth that witches and shifters are real, that his fiancé is a witch, and that there’s now a shifter familiar in their lives. His openness gives the whole relationship a refreshing twist. The external threat from others adds strong dramatic weight, filling the plot with danger and tension, and Nas steps into full involvement despite being human, which made his role feel even more meaningful. I loved the moments showcasing Callum's witch talents and Rikar’s shifter skills and the impact they had during the attacks. A story full of emotion and feeling, all easy to understand and connect with, especially as the trio navigate fear, loyalty, and the strange new shape of their bond. Review: Anything but Love by A.E. Jensen by Courtney W. Dixon 3 of 5 stars

Anything but Love

Anything but Love by A.E. Jensen by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Wes is finally ready for something real after years of keeping things casual, but meeting Jett Cordier — a former Olympic star turned guarded assistant coach — complicates everything. Their late‑night arguments and heated moments blur into a friends‑with‑benefits arrangement that doesn’t stay casual for long. Jett is still rebuilding his life after losing almost everything, and letting Wes in scares him. The more they’re together, the harder it becomes for him to pretend it’s nothing — and the risk of falling again feels enormous.

The push and pull between Wes and Jett worked for a while as they settled into their friends‑with‑benefits arrangement, but it eventually became tedious, repeating the same emotional beats without much movement. What stood out more were their interactions with close family especially Jett’s heartbreaking experiences with his parents, who added pressure to an already overwhelming situation. This is a story full of emotion, with Jett struggling through his mental health challenges and Wes dealing with serious family health problems. Their journeys felt easy to read and understand, even when the weight of everything becomes heavy. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Billionaire's Familiar by T.J. Nichols 4 of 5 stars

The Billionaire's Familiar

The Billionaire's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ethan Lumin needs a familiar before he turns thirty, but he wants more than someone drawn to his family’s wealth. Axel Hollins wants out of his family’s expectations and dreams of being an artist. A chance one‑night stand changes everything when they wake to discover they’re fated mates — despite their families hating each other. Their bond may be the only thing strong enough to help them face what comes next.

The familiar bond between Ethan and Axel might have been an accident, but it was clear from the start that they were naive to hope for any acceptance from their families as those prejudices ran deep and were never going to disappear overnight. That tension gave the story real weight. I loved the idea that the rich witches had an alternative to the Coven, something powerful and political that they controlled themselves. It added a sharp edge to the world‑building. The confrontation with Ethan’s parents was dramatic and satisfying, and the fox‑shifter skills were a brilliant touch, especially the way they turned the tide against their attackers. A story full of danger, drama, and long‑held grudges, with a bond that refuses to break even under pressure. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Boyfriend Freeze by D.J. Jamison 3 of 5 stars

Boyfriend Freeze

Boyfriend Freeze by D.J. Jamison
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ollie has sworn off hookups, sexting, and dating for sixty days to regain his self‑respect — a promise that seems solid until he meets Graham, the sweet, geeky librarian who’s exactly the kind of temptation he didn’t plan for. Graham is all wrong for Ollie’s vow but exactly right for his heart, leaving Ollie torn between keeping his promise and pursuing the perfect guy he never expected to find.

Ollie’s behaviour really drives this story as he’s clearly overwhelmed, unfocused, and absolutely needed that sixty‑day break to get his head straight and keep from tanking his classes. Meeting Graham throws everything off balance, and because they’re such opposites, their relationship always felt like it would either click beautifully or fall apart fast. It’s a nice, easy read, but I didn’t get much more from it beyond the surface connection and the contrast between their personalities. Still, their dynamic had moments of charm. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Occasional Fires and Saints by A.E. Jensen 5 of 5 stars

Occasional Fires and Saints

Occasional Fires and Saints by A.E. Jensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Noah Byrne has spent years hiding his sexuality, but meeting police officer Joe Pérez shakes everything loose. Their attraction is instant, and being close to Joe brings buried, frightening memories to the surface, forcing Noah to confront the real reasons he’s been hiding. For Joe, Noah is worth the effort — someone he wants to love openly and bring into his life. Despite their differences, their connection sparks hard and fast, becoming both the fire Noah needs and the steady support Joe has been searching for.

A beautiful and emotional story that delivers both smiles and tears. Noah and Joe feel wonderfully real, and the writing makes every moment — from the quiet heartbreaks to the tender breakthroughs — easy to understand and deeply felt. I genuinely wanted to hug them both at times, especially as Noah’s past comes forward and Joe stands beside him with so much warmth and determination. Joe’s over‑the‑top humour adds lightness just when the story needs it, making their connection even sweeter. A heartfelt, honest, and deeply moving read. This was an MM story with mature content.
