 #wolfpackreads #wolfpackbookbuzz

Don't volunteer unless you're willing to be taken...

A smuggler running solo
Iroth doesn’t deal in live cargo, but the job on Earth’s too good to pass up—purchase a female, escort her to Kirenai Prime, and rake in the credits. Except it was all a setup. Now he's on the hook for attempting to assassinate the crown prince. To avoid being shot on sight, he’s forced to assume the shape of one of the human’s primitive four-legged pets. But as a mysterious ailment threatens to compromise his disguise, he seeks refuge with a breathtaking female who turns out to be as strong as she is sweet, and his plan to escape goes to the dogs.

A caregiver with nerves of steel
Maise expected to leave the charity auction with a hot date. Instead, she goes home with a wounded Great Dane and a whole lot of questions. When the giant canine transforms into a sultry blue alien with turquoise eyes and asks for her help, she can’t refuse… until she helps him back onto his spaceship, and he won’t let her leave.

She’s determined to find an escape, but the more time they spend together, the more she suspects he’s not the alien monster she imagined. But will her strength and kindness be enough to melt the armour around his heart?

Review: Orion by Tasha Black 4 of 5 stars

Orion (Arkadian Alien Mail Order Brides #1)

Orion by Tasha Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hailey thought her life was simple and that she was part of the noble poor in the Arkadia underworld as she often took donations from their farm to the village's children's home but then she learned that her family business is not quite what it seems. Suddenly she knows she has to get away fast and sell herself off as a bride to a wealthy man from the overworld to buy her family's safety. Orion has always followed the rules and so he is confident he can be elected as the King's ambassador but a single night of fun in the outer rings results in him receiving an unexpected heir. So he takes action fast and opts to sponsor a bride from the underworld so that his daughter grows up with a mother plus a permanent tie to the underworld could gain him votes. In return, he will honour his new bride with his name and fortune and not impose himself romantically on her. It might be a marriage of convenience initially but baby Opal brings them closer and when Hailey's past threatens to catch up on her they will be forced to face their true feelings - will Orion sacrifice his career for love or will Hailey be on the run again before he gets the chance?

This was a sweet story of how their lives were polar opposites, convenience brought them together and baby Opal worked her own brand of magic to bring them together as a loving couple. I loved the way that Orion's campaign manager played a central role in helping Hailey and making sure that she had a friend in the upper world. It was well written, easy to read and understand the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Zarik by Elin Wyn 3 of 5 stars

Zarik (Conquered World, #12)

Zarik by Elin Wyn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Zarik wants to do anything to regain his honour even if it involves him stepping out of the shadows to help a human female to regain her memory. However, with every clue, he is more focused on keeping her safe and near to himself. Miri has no past just that he walked alone from the forest and can't remember who she is. The world has really changed - there are alien warriors living among them after a devastating war. Zarik is determined to find out what happened to her but is she still the path in order to correct a stain from his past or does she mean much more to him now?

This was a sweet story between Zarik and Miri with a lot of detail about a threat to the peace as well as a threat to the entire planet. I loved the way that Rouhr showed that he had a sense of humour as well as his renewed attempts at being open and communicating better with the populace of the planet. A good read that was easy to get addicted to as I got more into the mystery of who Miri was. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragon's Capture by Miranda Martin 4 of 5 stars

Dragon's Capture (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #6)

Dragon's Capture by Miranda Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Visidion is the Commander of The Tribe grouping of Zmaj and Rosalind is the Lady-General of the humans. It seems that they have continuously butted heads as The Tribe only believes in The Edicts and the humans have fairness and honour at the centre of their beliefs. That is complicated by Visidion's need to claim her as his treasure. While Visidion does his best to stick to the Edicts and will not consider any kind of compromise, Rosalind will not compromise on her beliefs either - they are at an impasse. It all centres around her refusal to dispose of Gershom which has now resulted in the humans who have mated with the Zmaj being exiled from the dome which is a step too far - Visidion is determined that Rosalind will find out just how possessive the Commander and his dragon can be!

This was a very interesting book focussing on the relationship between the Commander and the Lady-General as well as a joint adventure they go on together. I enjoyed their sojourn into the world of another of the author's series as well as their escape back home from it. I was relieved that they had stopped pussyfooting around each other. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Killer Beauty: An Enemies to Lovers Hitman Captive Romance by Eva Chance by Harlow King 4 of 5 stars

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dess is a girl that you'll never see coming until you are dead. But one night everything in her carefully ordered and controlled existence fell apart and after a bloodbath and a car crash, she finds herself being held by four gorgeous but intimidating men. Should she believe them that they are cops or are they something far more sinister as they certainly know how to bend the law. Plus they are very skilful with a gun, knife or hand to hand combat which then makes her wonder what their hands would feel like on her body. Either way, she has vengeance to perform and none of the powerful men is going to keep her caged for long. They might think that she is a mouse but they have no idea that she is a killer. And so she bides her time, learns all she can, and at the right time she will strike - they will have no idea what hit them.

I really enjoyed this story which was a real mystery until it got to the end and a lot more became clear. In the meantime we had Dess being her usual skilled self, the guys being butch, skilled and torn whether to trust her or not. I loved the way the story ended which also gave a lot more background. Loving the way this series started and looking forward to seeing how it will develop. Well written, easy to read and understand plus completely addictive. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: It's Getting Hot by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

It's Getting Hot (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #5.5)

It's Getting Hot by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Life on the planet Tajss is hard with very little water, the intense heat and technology as if it was the stone age (or so it seems). This is made worse as some of the survivors just want to cause trouble and not work together. However, there is hope as some adorable half-alien babies prove that love can conquer all.

This is a short little novella that looks at some of the problems and some of the politics of the current situation between the humans and the aliens on Tajss. Easy to read and understand. You would need to have read the previous books in order to understand the relationships between the different factions.

Review: Takar by Elin Wyn 4 of 5 stars

Takar (Conquered World, #11)

Takar by Elin Wyn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Living with his brother Rokul and his human mate Tella was enough interaction with humans for Takar. His life in the military has taught him to be controlled and restrained - something that humans seem to be incapable of. But when a curious human woman bursts into his duty station he can't stop thinking about her, so when she plunges into danger he'll ignore his own rules if it means he can keep her safe. Scientist Daphne wants to know everything about everything - for all the questions in the world she wants answers. When Takar is sent to retrieve her from an unauthorised field trip she is beyond annoyed, but when they are both trapped in tunnels she realises that she has just as many questions about the gruff Skotan warrior. Who is he, why does he send heat through her and why does she want to run her hands across his chest?

I enjoyed this story which had yet another impulsive human woman who drags a Skotan warrior into a situation that then develops into a love that involves a determination to protect each other while still learning more about their environment. I loved the details of the entity controlling the vines all over the planet and the way that they were able to bring together the right people in order to do something about it. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Vrehx's Quest by Elin Wyn 3 of 5 stars

Vrehx's Quest (Conquered World, #11.5)

Vrehx's Quest by Elin Wyn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The wait is almost over for Vrehx and Jeneva but is he ready for what it is to come or are more preparations needed?

This little novella is between books 11 and 12 in the series and looks at the preparations for Vrehx and Jeneva's child to be born. It was a lot of thought and how men could (and should) support their partners at a time like that. A light read that was deep in places. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Dragon's Kiss by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Dragon's Kiss (Red Planet Dragons Of Tajss, #5)

Dragon's Kiss by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human, data analyst and crash survivor Olivia thinks it is impossible for a tall Zmaj with steely blue eyes to fall for her. She is smart and curvacious but she doesn't feel that she measures up against some of the other humans. Ragnar is the best hunter for the Tribe which means that he is driven and single-minded. While he has always put the needs of his people over his own but he now has his heart set on a different treasure - Olivia - and he'll claim and protect her no matter the cost. In order to find a new home away from the risk of the pirates that originally crashed Olivia's ship, they all have a gruelling journey through sandstorms which is made worse because Olivia and Ragnar do not speak the same language. No matter their differences, Olivia ends up falling for the alien dragon-man but how will she cope when she finds herself with a choice- her people or her mate?

I enjoyed this story with its journey through the desert, the dangers, the storms and the interactions between the different factions of the humans and Zmaj. It certainly set the path for interesting stories going forward as well as in this particular book. An easy read with plenty of danger and drama. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Blood Phoenix by Amber K. Bryant 5 of 5 stars

Blood Phoenix (Spirit Seeker, #3)

Blood Phoenix by Amber K. Bryant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sybille Esmond is a psychic and just saved the world from a supernatural assault so she is hoping for some slack and downtime. However, instead, her cousin is possessed by the spirit of Sybille's nemesis, her dearest friend is likely dead and her previously undead boyfriend refuses to resign himself to his new status as a mortal. Let's not forget the spirits either - as they are trapped on earth thousands have flocked to her hoping that if they haunt her she'll be able to fixture out why they are barred from the afterlife. But as she investigates that she stumbles across a plan that makes everything else appear trivial. However, it is not just the spirits trying to get to the afterlife - there is a fae scheme in the works and when Sybille is granted a vision of the future she realises that the stakes really can't be higher because if her team fails to stop the fae both the living and the dead will run out of time.

This was definitely a complex and dramatic problem for Sybille as she had to deal with multiple problems at the same time. As always, she kept her cool (mostly) and using her wits managed to make a difference in order to get the right result. You might be able to read this stand-alone but I recommend that you should actually read the entire series in order to make more sense of the characters and the events that are happening. It was easy to read, understand and feel their thoughts and emotions. A great series to lose yourself to other realms.

Excerpt -
Erica woke up sore in all the right places. She’d delivered Reed back to his truck at the bar in a rumpled dress, with bedhead and no underwear.

Damn, that was an amazing night.

With her muse now sated, maybe she could focus on writing a few more songs for Trin’s next album. The cantina was just their test ground for new material. These days, Trinity could sell out a two-thousand-seat concert venue, and if this album sold well, that number would go up, too.

Erica ventured out to the kitchen in her sweats. She grabbed a cereal bowl and spun around when Trin cleared her throat.

Her roommate was at the table with a grin that was all trouble. “So you’re not going to tell me about last night?”

Erica rolled her eyes and went about getting her breakfast. “You saw Reed. How do you think it went?”

She chuckled. “Being hot doesn’t mean you’re good in bed.”

Erica peered over her shoulder. “We never even got to the bed.”

Trin’s eyes widened. “Oh gods! I eat at this table!”

“Please. We weren’t on the table.” Erica grinned.

“So are you going to see him again?”

Erica’s smile faded as she poured her milk. “We agreed it was a one-time thing.”

Trin shook her head. “You know, if you never let a good man into your life, then Jack wins.”

Erica sat across from Trin, poking at her food. “It’s different for me and you know it. The rest of you have muses to inspire music, laughter, dance, epic stories, even tragedy, but me? I inspire sex-obsessed stalkers. One was enough, thanks.”

Trin leaned back in her chair. “You don’t know that for sure. And if you limit yourself to no-strings-attached sex, you’ll never find out. Besides, Reed is Hunter’s best friend; he’s got to be a good guy. There’s no way Hunter would be friends with an abusive jerk.”

Suddenly, Erica wasn’t hungry anymore. “Reed seems like an amazing guy. Spend a few months with my insatiable muse, though, and all that could change.” She shuddered. “No thanks.”

“Fine.” Her roommate got up. “But you deserve more than just one night.”

Trin disappeared into her room while Erica forced down her cereal and then rinsed out her bowl. None of her muse sisters really understood. Being the vessel for Erato made her hunger for stimulation all the time. Flirting was as natural as breathing, and she did it without realizing it. Often.

Eventually, Jack’s jealousy led to… She glanced at the round scar on her shoulder.

Yeah, she wasn’t going there.

Since Mel and Callie had found their Guardians, Erica secretly hoped she might find hers, too.
Every muse supposedly had one, not that she thought he’d be the love of her life like her muse “sisters” had discovered with theirs, but because he might be able to keep her from getting in too deep with another guy.

Clio, the Muse of History, had translated the scroll with the prophecy of a man chosen by the gods to protect his muse.

Protect, not love.

The truth was, watching her sisters fall in love, and knowing that for her, even an amazing night of passion would end with her in an empty bed in the morning, sucked. At least if she found her Guardian, she might have a friend.

Review: Unacceptable Risk [includes Unsettled Interlude] by Kaje Harper 5 of 5 stars

Unacceptable Risk [includes Unsettled Interlude] (Hidden Wolves, #1-1.5)

Unacceptable Risk [includes Unsettled Interlude] by Kaje Harper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Werewolf shifter Simon Conley has been an outcast in his own pack ever since it was known he was gay. He is considered a perversion and a major security risk as werewolves rely on total secrecy in the human world - any breach to that would be swiftly and violently dealt with. So when Simon falls in love with a human man his Alpha's grudging tolerance is not going to protect him. He absolutely has to stop Paul from discovering the truth about him and the pack secrets else they are likely to pay with their lives.

I absolutely loved this book The relationship between Simon and Paul was hesitant at first but incredibly strong and I just felt incredibly sad for them that there was so much pressure and antagonism on them. Paul's hesitation was well written and Simon was both strong and very careful together with reckless and determined when it came to his feelings for Paul. There were definitely times when I just wanted to give some of the pack members a piece of my mind which shows just how deeply I bought into the story between them. Very easy to read and be swept away in the emotions of it all. Contains explicit sexual M/M sexual content so please don't read this if you are sensitive to it.

Review: Iq'her by Elin Wyn 3 of 5 stars

Iq'her (Conquered World, #10)

Iq'her by Elin Wyn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Iq'her is a K'ver soldier and normally they are very focused but the bright eyes of human Stasia threaten to distract him from pretty much everything. There is a rising tide of anti-alien sentiment and Iq'her is assigned to infiltrate a breakaway group in order to try and keep them from doing too much damage, but Stasia and her curves really distract him and when she is in danger then all bets are off and he will do whatever he has in order to keep her safe. Stasi knows she is not important and besides her hot-headed brother gives her more than enough to worry about. But one of the alien warriors definitely makes her heart race whenever he is near. Can they work together and keep everyone safe?

I enjoyed this story although I did find Stasia's faith in her brother weird considering how much he has gone down the extreme opinion route. Even when she could hear him lie time and time again she didn't really do much in order to call him out - something that I feel made the entire situation worse than it might have been. Plenty of devotion from Iq'her to Stasia which did appear to be appreciated and returned as the book went further into the story. Easy to read and understand. It definitely feels as if the wonderful society that existed on the planet is falling apart. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragon Flame by Ava Hunter 4 of 5 stars

Dragon Flame (Desert Dragons Book 1)

Dragon Flame by Ava Hunter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ava normally watches a monitor all night but it takes a turn for the best after she sees a meteor enter the Earth's atmosphere. However, when she goes out to inspect the crater all she finds is a strange and confused man. after being abruptly awoken from cryo-sleep, alien warrior Krom discovers that the ship has been damaged and he has to do a spacewalk to try to fix the thrusters. However, it gets much worse when he crash lands on Earth. The Earth woman he meets says she is a scientist which sounds great - he desperately needs her help to find one of Earth's rare and dangerous substances so he can fix the ship and his crew can travel home. That mission is endangered when he discovers that Ava is his fated mate and so now he finds he needs to protect her from a biker gang, a crime lord and even worse navy SEALS while also trying to protect his heart. A dragon can only resist for so long before he has to claim his mate.

I enjoyed this story where he seemed to have to fight anyone and everyone in order to protect Ava while also trying to stick to his mission. I enjoyed the various super skills that he had thanks to being a dragon plus an alien which certainly made his life much easier on Earth. I did find the section where he showed the spaceship to Ava a little strange as I can't imagine any captain accepting a human being brought onboard without permission let alone shown around without some kind of assurances in person first. It was easy to read and understand plus the story was easy to follow. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Scarred by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Scarred (Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors, #9)

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Brok is a Drexian captain for Inferno Force ship and has vowed to track down the pretty human called Maddie who was snatched by space pirates so he can return her to her matchedDrexian warrior - someone who isn't battle damaged and scared as he is. The snag is that he has not thought of anything but her for weeks and in order to rescue her he is stuck on a hedonistic alien planet with little clothing and very low inhibitions. If he manages to get her out is he really going to be able to let her go?

I really enjoyed this story which had the determined Brok doing everything he could to get Maddie and Serge off of that planet while being honourable. On the other hand, he had to handle a feisty Maddie who did not take orders well (something that Brok found hard to comprehend) and the eccentric Serge with his artistic temperament and ego. I loved the "feature" of that alien race and what they were at certain times of the year as well as the unstoppable attraction that existed between Maddie and Brok. I think this story proves that if you have a beautiful soul that looks are not so important. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: His Human Ward by Michele Mills 4 of 5 stars

His Human Ward (Monsters Love Curvy Girls #5)His Human Ward by Michele Mills
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Charlotte Cruz is getting married even though she is realising that it is a very big mistake. He is wearing an exquisite white gown, has a large engagement ring but her groom is evil personified and she is close to crying in front of everyone. Then at exactly the right moment the church doors open and a large satanic looking alien with a flicking tail stomps down the aisle towards her and confirms her name. After she nods he grunts, picks her up and takes her away from the altar and leaves the church while the guests scream - it appears that the dark and brooding Fire Lord of Ashmoor Manor has just been to Earth and collected his new ward.

I loved this book. Charlotte was sassy and a gorgeous woman both inside and out. Thayne was dark, brooding and tortured but a beautiful soul who definitely needed love in order to bloom again. I loved the mixup, the care and devotion that they both showed for each other, even if it wasn't always so obvious. A sweet story that shows that happiness can come after a great personal tragedy. Well written, easy to read and understand. It was easy to pick up and feel the thoughts and emotions of the two main characters. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Angelo by Lisa Carlisle 4 of 5 stars

Angelo (Anchor Me #1)Angelo by Lisa Carlisle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Catherine is a neuroscientist and has received multiple warnings from a stranger about the research she is doing for the government. So a friend's wedding in Newport gives her the break that she needs. Then she comes face to face with sexy Navy SEAL Angelo DeMarchis (the one who got away) her hopes for the weekend shatter. Angelo has needed this leave for a long time in order to try and get over the memories that plague him from his time in service, but then he runs into Catherine who is now so much hotter than she was in high school. He really would like to spend the whole of his leave with her, but there is a problem with the research she is doing. She might be downplaying the warnings but he can't see it - it is ringing alarm bells for him. In his ten days of leave, can he make sure she is safe because this time he really is playing for keeps as he has realised that they belong together?

I really enjoyed this story with the separate tracks of the second chance love as well as the danger from the crazed person around her work. I loved that Angelo had to make sure of his SEAL skills in order to keep her safe. The DeMarchis family seemed like a lovely family and that the three sons were all well rounded and very brave people considering their jobs. I think we could all do with an Angelo in our lives. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Sylor by Elin Wyn 3 of 5 stars

Sylor (Conquered World, #9)Sylor by Elin Wyn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Valorni warrior Sylor is not typical of his species as he craves discipline and order. But a certain human female criminal makes him forget everything that he believes in. Human Nesta hates the world on the surface as there are far too many rules which do not fit into her only way to survive which required her to take what she needed. After meeting Sylor she wonders when her needs changed to include a green-skinned and possessive alien? Can they work together to find a way outside of the trapped city?

I enjoyed this story but not quite as much as some of the other ones as I found Nessa to be a very strange person. I loved the quest they went on as well as the discovery of the underground world with its own economy, rules and management hierarchy. Sylor might have started out as an alien with a stick up his backside but he soon changed into a more reasonable and considered alien. I love the way that these aliens become more rounded people after they find love with a human. Well written and easy to read. Contains explicit sexual content.

I enjoyed this story which was a bit like a fairytale with the hidden royal and the love who was a normal person. I enjoyed that we got to learn more about her homeworld and the plight of her people as well as the fact that he was hiding in order to stay alive and avoid an evil relative. The space station forest sounded great and it was an ideal place to be free and stay grounded while out in space. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains sexual content.

Quantum by Erin Kellison
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tey Raider was a soldier and is now a space pirate. He is visiting Earth to steal a fortune and use one of the Red Rock vortexes to escape to the deep black. When he bumps into Sophia West he has no idea that the human woman will throw a wrench into his master plan and spin him and his heart out of control. Sophia doesn't believe in aliens until a Sedona based dating agency mixer puts her in contact with aliens. She is undercover trying to find her missing brother who has been abducted and tortured by someone called Nimbus. She strikes a bargain with Tey to help her find her brother but she wants to reach out to Tey too. The mission is going to be dramatic and when the red dust settles neither of them will be the same.

Review: Lord of Light by J.C. Andrijeski 5 of 5 stars

Lord of Light (Light & Shadow #4)Lord of Light by J.C. Andrijeski
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lightbringer Alexis lost all of her powers when she closed the last portal and Traveler Cal nearly died after being shot and stabbed by the remaining members of his family. They have now returned to Los Angeles and Alexis knows that they are running out of time and although she thought she had saved her friends and her world from the dark beings known as The Others it seems that they have been here all of the time and their dark magic is now fighting a battle for the soul of her world. Everyone believes she is the one to save them but he needs to conquer her own demons, weaknesses and fears first and get back to what it truly means to be a Lightbringer. She also needs to find a cure for a mystery spell that knocked out more than half of her allies. With the help of a Hollywood fire angel, the angel's grumpy and deadly boyfriend, a coven of witches, a werewolf pack, a necromancer and even the woman who raised her, Alexis has just the one shot left to keep evil from her world's future, save her husband, her friends and family. To accept all of that help she is going to have to learn to do the one thing she seems incapable of doing - trust people.

Wow - this was fast-paced, full of action and pulled lots of different characters together into one explosive finish to this series. All the way through this book I was happy to see various characters appear or various revelations happen. All the way through Cal was supportive to Alexis and did his best to help her in any way that he could. The person behind the mystery spell was a great surprise and in the end, it was easy to fix the problem when it was fully understood. Whilst I am sad that the series is now finished I'm sure they will probably appear in other series by this author and I was thrilled that there was such a happy ending. It was easy to understand and read although you need t have read the previous three books in the series. Contains some sexual content.

Now she needs to explain her disappearing act to her family and her high-school sweetheart who was left behind as well. Leo Hoffman tried and spectacularly failed to forget Isabella but now that his brother is marrying her sister he is forced to celebrate something their family calls the "Eight Days of Christmas" with them all even though he is not feeling very festive. Their close proximity brings back memories for them both and soon it starts to be an inability to keep their hands off each other too. Then Isabella's ex unexpectedly enters the equation and she faces a dilemma - to listen to her heart or listen to her head? Isabella is going to have to decide once and so all where she belongs.

I really enjoyed this romantic story which was just like watching one of those Christmas films where everything happens at Christmas and everything goes back to the way it should have been. I loved the eight days of Christmas and the activities they did as well as their interaction during the course of them. I loved the way that they tried to do their best and how well that worked out as well as the way it ended. Definitely, a festive feel-good story that will give you the Christmas spirit. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Jared by Alisa Woods 4 of 5 stars

Jared (Riverwise Private Security #3)Jared by Alisa Woods
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ex-Marine sniper Jared River was broken by the war and is only good for killing now. He was peering down a scope at Senator Krepky who is the anti-shifter politician who is about to ruin all shifter's lives. Grace Krepky is the Senator's daughter who has earned her way to the position of his campaign manager. However she has a big secret - she is actually a shifter and her father is going to force her secret into the open which will ruin both of their lives. Just when Jared is ready to pull the trigger she sees that the Senator's daughter is actually a wolf too. So he puts his gun to the side and goes after the fleeing girl. It becomes clear that he either needs to persuade her to reveal her true identity or he will have to assassinate her father. However, he is making him come alive again which is something he never expected to happen.

I really enjoyed this story which had plenty of drama, excitement, political intrigue and of course a little romance too. There was a lot of danger at one point at it took a lot of effort in order to save Grace. I loved the ending and the way that she took control. I loved reading this series and it was great to see Jared find some happiness. Well written, easy to read, feel and understand. Contains some explicit secual content.

Review: Hudson by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Hudson Hudson by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After a few days of rest, Hudson heads to visit his best friend in Vail, Colorado. However, on the first day, an explosion in his hotel sends the city into chaos. Hudson does what he can to keep Avery safe as it is clear to see that this was not an accident and although he is not allowed to join the investigation, he has the training and is on the spot and he just can't sit idly by and do nothing - especially if Avery is in any kind of trouble. Avery has been really looking forward to Hudson's visit. As best friends she definitely wants to spend more time with him and as she has loved him since forever but has not taken things further as she doesn't want to risk their friendship. After the blast, she regrets it as that one explosion seems to just be the tip of a much bigger problem as the terrorist has realised that Hudson caught a glimpse of him. So now a game of cat and mouse is on, with Avery caught in the middle - can Hudson sort all of this out, keep Avery safe and can they have a chance of a future together?

I enjoyed this story which was all around a group of terrorists and this had a resonance with today as I can see that translating into the real world very easily. Full of mystery, drama, danger, complications and in the centre of all of that love. Easy to read, this swept me up and pulled me along as we all learn more about who was doing this, what was going to happen next, how it was going to end and how things between Hudson and Avery would change. Contains some explicit sexual content nearer the end of the book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: Rokul by Elin Wyn 4 of 5 stars

Rokul (Conquered World, #8)Rokul by Elin Wyn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Botanist Dr Tella Briar thrives on fieldwork and hates being stuck in a laboratory. But when Strike Team Two member Rokul releases her for a deadly vine an attraction between them is a bright flame that cannot be ignored. They need to work together if they are going to figure out what is happening to the planet whilst they try and keep things between them professional. Used to fighting, can he persuade the brilliant but stubborn woman to stay with him - after all, she is worth it.

I really enjoyed this love story mixed up into a mystery about the plant life of the planet that was threatening them all. Tella was a feisty yet passionate woman who always considered things carefully with Rokul the fighter who was impulsive and a determined fighter for anything and anyone who was important to him. They were perfect opposites. I loved the times when they had to care for each other as well as the comfort that they received from each other. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Vengeance by K.E. Osborn 4 of 5 stars

Vengeance (Chicago Defiance MC, #9)Vengeance by K.E. Osborn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Viper is one of a long line of MC presidents that came before him and he is trying to live up to their histories. When his VP goes rogue putting the club at risk for a change of happiness all roads lead to Vegas. Following him there, will Viper be able to salvage the situation and will he find a phoenix that will rise out of the ashes?

This was a sweet novella in the Chicago Defiance world that was a story featuring deception, misunderstandings, attraction, and lies. I loved the way that we got to know more about the characters as the story progressed and the way that the solution was solved which reminded us all that folks in an MC club can appear to be very rough and ready but they are as human as the rest of us. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Stolen by Tana Stone 4 of 5 stars

Stolen (Tribute Brides Of The Drexian Warriors, #8)Stolen by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hope didn't like the idea of being a tribute bride after her abduction from Earth then she was kidnapped by space pirates. Hope had never been into commitment as she has been a travel blogger on Earth but when she sees the Drexian who has come to save her she is more impressed than she will ever admit - after all he is gorgeous, muscular and seems willing to do anything in order to keep her safe. But she has no intention but to go back to Earth. Kos has always been a loyal and driven Drexian warrior and is currently the first officer of the space station. He has never spent much time with human women but wonders just how complicated they could be - after all after the rescue from the space pirates he just wants to get back to Drexian space and formalise his mating to her. What could go wrong?

I really felt sorry for Kos - his mate really was a selfish person who only cared and wanted to care for herself. She was very impulsive and just did what she wanted to do (and damn the consequences). Thank goodness Kos was determined to do whatever it took to get them free and she had started to trust him or I feared they would be stuff there forever. I really liked Kos - he was gorgeous, dependable and determined to protect Hope and any other life that he could. Well written, easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
