Review: Bootylicious by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Bootylicious

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Boone is supposed to protect the forest and avoid getting attached to humans — but Elias, the curious biologist he’s watched for two summers, makes that impossible. When Elias returns early, quiet observation turns into real connection, pulling him deeper into Boone’s hidden world. With rangers watching, monsters stirring, and the network noticing Boone’s slip in judgment, the line between duty and desire starts to break. Some secrets can be hidden… and some are worth risking everything for.

I loved this story — especially watching a sasquatch fall for the accident‑prone scientist he can’t help being drawn to. Boone and Elias’s relationship starts slowly and gently, building layer by layer before speeding up near the end in a way that felt natural and deeply satisfying. Their adventures were fun and immersive, pulling me straight into their world and all the humans and cryptids they interacted with. Boone’s protective side was one of my favourite parts; every moment he worked to keep Elias safe made their connection feel even stronger. I also appreciated how many of the story’s themes of openness, acceptance, embracing differences felt beautifully applicable to real life. A warm, thoughtful, and wonderfully engaging read. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Varek by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Varek

Varek by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pax has survived Terrafeara by staying untouchable — until Varek, the Riftborn commander who killed his husband, returns and claims they’re fated mates. Forced together in a collapsing world, they’re pulled toward each other even as war, worsening rifts, and old wounds threaten to tear everything apart. They should be enemies, but they might be each other’s only chance — and love may be the most dangerous force they face.

What stood out most was the care and patience Varek gave Pax, giving him all the space he needed to adjust to the mate bond even when Pax’s stubbornness dragged out the pain far longer than it had to. Their dynamic was fascinating, especially because Pax is such a strange mix of kindness, sharp intelligence, thoughtlessness, and tunnel vision, all wrapped into one complicated man. The story delivered plenty of danger and drama, not just from the Queen and her army but also from tensions simmering within the rebel forces. That layered conflict made the world feel unstable in all the right ways. A gripping, emotional read where two very different men navigate power, trauma, and a bond neither expected and somehow make it work. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Mending Hearts by Becca Seymour 5 of 5 stars

Mending Hearts

Mending Hearts by Becca Seymour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ollie’s tightly controlled world collapses when his private life goes public, leaving the League, sponsors, and the media picking apart every piece of him. Rafe’s star is rising fast, but success feels empty when the man he loves is being torn apart under the spotlight. They’ve survived distance, ambition, and secrets — but now they’re facing the fallout. With reputations, contracts, and old wounds on the line, they have to decide whether their love is something to hide or something worth fighting for in full view of the world. Mending what’s broken is messy, public, and brave — and choosing each other might be the only way home.

After being apart for so long, Ollie and Rafe finally reach a breaking point — the moment where holding everything in becomes impossible, and something has to change. That crossroads is raw, emotional, and exactly what they needed to finally fight together instead of drifting alone. This story is full of feelings — frustration, longing, fear, hope — all of it building toward a relationship that’s stronger because they choose it openly and deliberately. I loved seeing them work side by side, finally pulling in the same direction, and I especially loved the people around them who stepped up to protect, support, and steady them when the world felt too loud. A heartfelt, satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, bringing their journey full circle with courage, connection, and the promise of something lasting. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Shattered Hoops by Becca Seymour 5 of 5 stars

Shattered Hoops

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ollie Marshall, a rookie determined to stay flawless under pressure, hides his relationship with rising rock star Rafe Ortiz. Their love survives in secrecy — stolen moments and hidden truths — until one night exposes everything. With media scrutiny, family pressure, and every mistake turning into headlines, the two are pushed to a breaking point that could change their futures forever.

This story is packed with intensity — every emotion sharp, every moment between Ollie and Rafe loaded with pressure, longing, and the weight of being watched. Both men are successful in their own worlds, but that success only magnifies the scrutiny on them, turning their private love into something fragile and hard‑won. I loved the ups and downs, the tenderness threaded through the chaos, and the way their feelings stayed so clear and easy to connect with. The ending absolutely broke my heart, and now I’m counting the days until the final book. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Breaking Strings by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Breaking Strings

Breaking Strings by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rafe’s rising music career keeps getting overshadowed by one person — Oliver, the star basketball captain he shares a secret, irresistible connection with. Both have reputations and futures at stake, but walking away feels impossible. When March Madness and a major showcase collide, their hidden relationship reaches a breaking point, forcing them to choose between love, legacy, and the truth that could either break them or bind them even tighter.

A powerful, emotional story about two men from completely different worlds who can’t help but be drawn to each other. Rafe and Oliver face their own pressures — the music grind for one, the spotlight of college basketball for the other — yet they still manage to support each other in every stolen moment they can find. Their love is all‑consuming, intense, and impossible to ignore, even as they hide it from everyone around them. I especially loved how Rafe channels his feelings into his music, making Oliver his muse in a way that feels raw and honest, while Oliver struggles to keep his emotions buried under the weight of expectations. The side characters and the world around them add depth without overshadowing their connection. A beautifully written, deeply felt romance about desire, secrecy, and the kind of love that refuses to stay quiet. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Candy Hearts Volume 3 by A.D. Ellis by B.A. Tortuga by Becca Seymour by E.M. Denning 4 of 5 stars

Candy Hearts Volume 3

Candy Hearts Volume 3 by A.D. Ellis by B.A. Tortuga by Becca Seymour by E.M. Denning
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Valentine’s‑themed LGBTQIA2S+ anthology offering twenty‑one low‑angst queer romances, each built around bad first impressions that blossom into sweet, satisfying happily‑ever‑afters. Candy Hearts, Volume 3 delivers warm, red‑hot novellas full of charm, humour, and feel‑good connection. It’s available for a limited time, and all proceeds support Rainbow Railroad, making it both a delightful read and a contribution to a meaningful cause.

This anthology is full of charm, and I really enjoyed how many of the stories leaned into humour while still delivering a guaranteed happy ending. The low‑angst tone makes it an easy, uplifting read, and the variety of “meet‑ugly” setups kept things fun from story to story. Because each piece is a novella, the character development is naturally limited, and I often found myself wishing a few of the couples had more space to grow. Several stories had such engaging setups and chemistry that I genuinely hope the authors expand them into longer works. Overall, it’s a sweet, feel‑good collection with plenty of warmth, laughs, and satisfying conclusions — perfect for dipping into when you want something light and happy. I particularly enjoyed the stories by A.D. Ellis, BA Tortuga, Becca Seymour and E.M. Denning. These were MM stories with mature content.

Review: Caden & Theo by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Caden & Theo

Caden & Theo by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Theo and Caden were best friends and teammates—two boys from a small Southern town who found first love in secret. But one devastating night tore them apart, leaving Caden to rebuild his life far away and Theo rooted in the past, still teaching at their old high school and quietly nursing a broken heart. Fifteen years later, a high school reunion brings Caden back to Gomillion, forcing both men to confront the memories, mistakes, and unresolved feelings that have haunted them. As they face the truth of what they lost, they discover that some love stories never truly end—and this time, Theo is ready to fight for the one that got away.

I loved this story of a poignant exploration of first love, loss, and the enduring hope for redemption. I loved how Theo and Caden’s relationship began with innocence and intensity—first kiss, first love, first heartbreak. Their bond was forged in secrecy and emotional urgency, making the eventual rupture all the more devastating. I liked that their reunion is not just about rekindling romance, but about confronting who they’ve become. Their second chance explores how love can evolve, how timing matters, and how emotional maturity allows for deeper, more honest connection. A story full of emotions and feelings that will generate the odd tear. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Falling For 42 by Becca Seymour 3 of 5 stars

Falling For 42

Falling For 42 by Becca Seymour
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Kobe, a tattooed rebel with a sharp edge and a soft spot for basketball, finds himself unexpectedly drawn to Malik—a clean-cut college player with no ink and a dangerously charming smirk. Set up by his brother, Kobe’s thrown into a game of chemistry and contrast with Malik, whose awkward charm and simmering intensity spark something irresistible. They’re polar opposites: inked vs. pristine, bold vs. composed. But beneath the teasing and tension lies a deeper connection waiting to be explored—one that promises to heat up both the court and their hearts.

I enjoyed this novella with the two men who proved that opposites really do attract. The story captured the tension, attraction, and opposites-attract dynamic. It was a slow burn with swagger, vulnerability, and the thrill of falling for someone who’s nothing like you… and exactly what you need. A little instalove but the length of this story needed it to be like that. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: High Alert by Becca Seymour 3 of 5 stars

High Alert

High Alert by Becca Seymour
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ross has harbored a long-standing crush on his brother's best friend, Dan, a sexy rural firefighter. After years of Dan being straight, he's now out, but the timing for Ross to make a move has always been off. When Ross finally attempts to pursue something, Dan becomes withdrawn, leaving Ross with a bruised heart. Despite the setback, Ross values Dan's friendship, recognizing his inherent goodness, attractiveness, and admirable qualities, which only intensify Ross's desire. When they find themselves in a dangerous situation, it seems like the wrong time for romance. However, Dan appears receptive, leading Ross to decide it's time to reveal his feelings and go all in.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were drawn together even though one with the other's brother's best friends. Some of the incidents were a bit farcical but the drama around natural disasters was suitably dramatic. I loved the goats. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Stronger Than Fate by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Stronger Than Fate

Stronger Than Fate by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Matt Lucas is the leader of the Infiltration Tactical Unit. He is being hunted by the agency he once served and has reluctantly allied with Ethan Wilder, a bear shifter. Despite Lucas's initial reservations, he finds himself drawn to Wilder. They are trapped together with their team, and Wilder becomes crucial to Lucas's mission to take down their nemesis, Hornell, and to prevent Lucas from "imploding" as secrets from his past surface. The narrative highlights themes of trust, survival, and an unexpected connection amidst escalating danger.

I loved this story as it worked towards the end of the mystery of what Hornell is doing and stopping him. As part of that was the sizzling hot dynamic between Matt and Ethan. Plenty of danger and drama as they took on those who were allied to Hornell. Tied in with this were the people from Matt's past one of those who needed to be stopped. Huge amounts of emotions and feelings as Matt was forced to reveal and confront his past. This was an MM story with mature content.

Brighter Than Fear

Brighter Than Fear by Becca Seymour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flynn, an agent in covert operations, has been secretly collaborating with an elusive "unicorn hacker," jeopardizing his loyalty to his unit, the ITU. When an investigation escalates, Flynn's world is upended, and he finally hears the hacker's voice, learning his name is Rowan Hart, a former agent and tiger shifter. Despite initial clashes with Flynn's team, they form an alliance against their target, Hornell. A sudden attack leaves Flynn gravely injured and transformed, requiring both his unit and Rowan's unwavering support to survive. Through this ordeal, Rowan's dedication becomes evident, as he's determined to give Flynn a second chance at life and a potential future together.

I loved this story with the continuation of the mystery and the developing relationship between Flynn and Rowan. There was so much danger and drama that I was swept away in the story. Their relationship was so sweet and the way that Rowan protected Flynn was just adorable. There were a lot of emotions and feelings as the story and their relationship developed. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Weaker Than Instinct by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Weaker Than Instinct

Vaughn Michaels, is a lone wolf agent who prefers to work alone but is forced into a partnership as punishment for pushing his unit too far. He's tasked with an undercover mission at the SICB Academy to investigate missing recruits. Despite his reluctance to work with anyone, he's paired with Jett Shaw, a "hotshot" rookie agent described as alluring and close to getting under Vaughn's skin. The two must work together, but Vaughn struggles with trust, even in himself. A new threat emerges, putting Shaw in danger and forcing Vaughn to reconsider his approach. The success of their mission—taking down a "shadow agency"—and the survival of his entire unit now depend on Vaughn changing his solitary ways.

I loved this story with the two men who were instantly attracted to each other but had to work together as they tried to crack the case of the missing students. There was a lot of danger and drama as they got closer to solving the mystery. The combination of humans and supernatural was good but I did miss the interaction between shifters when they loved each other and were shifted. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Thicker Than Water

Thicker Than Water by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Callan, a rogue wolf shifter with a rebellious streak, is forced to change his ways when he stumbles upon a dangerous undercover operation that becomes deeply personal. Joining an elite supernatural crime unit, the SICB, he finds himself working alongside a tight-knit team that challenges everything he thought he knew about teamwork. His biggest challenge? His new boss and unexpected housemate, Liam “Thatch” Thatcher, is a newly changed wolf shifter with an undeniable presence. As they uncover a sinister blood farm operation with far-reaching consequences, Callan must learn to trust, follow the rules, and risk it all—including his heart—to succeed.

I enjoyed this story with the themes of loyalty, transformation, and emotional depth, which were addictive. I loved the relationship between Callan and Thatch although there was a general lack of background for all of the characters (which I hope is fixed later in the series).  Lots of danger and drama as they tried to solve the mystery of the blood farm operation. This was an MM story with mature content.

Ian, a cute and hardworking nurse, dreams of a fresh start in the welcoming small town of Kirkby. While participating in the town's first Pride festival, he reluctantly agrees to run the kissing booth. An unexpected kiss from his friend Frankie rescues him from an awkward situation and sparks a surprising connection that turns Ian's life upside down. Despite the distance between them and potential obstacles, Ian hopes to build a future with Frankie and find a place to call home, navigating unexpected surprises and revelations along the way.

I loved this story with nurse Ian getting his own HEA with Frankie and his son Ty. I loved how Ian was close to Ty before he and Frankie started a relationship. Lots of emotions and feelings that were mostly positive and good apart from those involving a different person who had problems with accepting the word "No". This was an MM story with mature content.

It's Not You

It's Not You by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story sounds like it's packed with tension! It's about Lawrence, a drifter finally settling down, who needs help from his landlord, Billy, a protective ex-cop. Their shared history and Billy's initial act of playing it cool have created a complicated dynamic. As Billy nurses Lawrence back to health, their attraction grows, but the reappearance of Lawrence's past threatens to shatter any chance of happiness they might find together.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were drawn together and after a rocky start went back to basics of establishing a friendship first. I loved both of their personalities and understood their pasts and the effect on them. Lawrence's mother was a piece of work. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Thinking It Over

Thinking It Over by Becca Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a sweet setup for a potentially heartwarming story! It centres on Jasper, a new teacher who's thrilled about his permanent job prospects and finds himself unexpectedly drawn to Austin, the school's principal. Austin, a successful and focused man dealing with his own ex and the potential full custody of his dog Penny, is equally attracted to Jasper, creating a "complicated" situation they both need to navigate.

I loved this story with the two men who had so much in common and had a smoking hot attraction. There were many reasons for emotions and feelings both in their own relationship and their relationships with others. Austin's ex really was despicable and it feels almost impossible for them to have ever been together. This was an MM story with mature content.

This is a heartwarming continuation of Scott and Davis's story in Kirkby. Two years later, their love has deepened, their businesses are thriving, and their child, Libby, is happy. However, they still face the everyday challenges of parenthood. Seeking a break, a weekend getaway reveals a new, relaxed side of Scott in public, which unexpectedly unsettles Davis. Davis worries that their life in Kirkby is limiting Scott and almost jeopardizes their relationship. But Scott knows what he wants and needs Davis to fight for their family and future, and he has a plan to make it happen.

This was a sweet novella which gave us the opportunity to catchup with Scott and Davis. It was great to see them both happy and fulfilled even if Scott had to take some action to reassure Davis. Libby was still a sweetheart. Easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
