Review: Kristian's Kismet by Anna Sparrows 4 of 5 stars

Kristian's Kismet: An MM Age Play Romance

Kristian's Kismet: An MM Age Play Romance by Anna Sparrows
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Benji has never felt like he truly belongs, even in the spaces meant for people like him. At a specialised camp, he meets Kris, a calm, steady caregiver who understands him in a way no one else has. Their connection is immediate but cut short by life getting in the way. When fate brings them back together, both must decide whether to trust the pull between them and believe that something that feels right might actually be meant to last.

Benji’s story really struck me with that deep sense of not belonging anywhere, even in the spaces meant to feel safe, which made his connection with Kris feel all the more powerful. The bond between them is immediate and unmistakable, the kind of spark that feels like recognition rather than discovery. I loved that fate didn’t just nudge them together once but twice, giving them another chance when the first slipped away. Both men needed to be in the right emotional place, and the book does a lovely job showing how they slowly settle into trust, friendship, and eventually something much deeper. The feelings throughout are clear, heartfelt, and easy to understand, making their journey from loneliness to connection genuinely satisfying. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: The Traitor's Curse by Eliot Grayson 4 of 5 stars

The Traitor's Curse

The Traitor's Curse by Eliot Grayson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lucian becomes duke after his father’s suspicious death, but his people barely accept him. His powerful stepbrother Benedict—war hero and dusk mage—is the only one who can keep him alive and on the throne, though he wants nothing to do with ruling. When Lucian comes to him terrified and in danger, Benedict agrees to protect him, but only if Lucian submits to the demands of his cursed magic. Lucian hates Benedict, hates how he feels under his touch, and fears it may destroy him—if his father’s killer doesn’t get to him first.

Both Lucian and Benedict are surrounded by plots, subplots, and constant betrayal, making it nearly impossible for either of them to know who to trust. Lucian’s love‑hate dynamic with Benedict shifts slowly into something deeper, and I really enjoyed how clearly their emotions were written, even when the characters themselves struggled to understand what they were feeling. The ending was especially satisfying — Lucian proves he’s far from the fool some of his so‑called advisors believed him to be. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Dirty Rotten Love by Jessica Jackman 2 of 5 stars

Dirty Rotten Love: MM Awakening Romance

Dirty Rotten Love: MM Awakening Romance by Jessica Jackman
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Rory loses a drunken card game on a North Sea oil rig and has to approach his grumpy boss, Macleod, as a dare. What should’ve been a disaster turns into something surprisingly tender. Macleod is thoughtful, steady, and unexpectedly perfect for Rory’s chaos. A joke challenge becomes Northern Lights, quiet moments, and a connection Rory never saw coming.

I really liked the plot of this story, and some of the moments between the two men were genuinely romantic and heartfelt. But the book was weighed down by constant internal monologues, to the point where it felt like very little was actually happening on the page. The ending also left me confused — the men who were supposed to fix the problem simply bailed and left Rory to deal with it, with no explanation or consequences for their incompetence. Overall, a good premise with some lovely scenes, but the execution didn’t quite land for me. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Death's Mate by C.W. Gray 4 of 5 stars

Death's Mate

Death's Mate by C.W. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dr. Verion Morrick — once a simple scientist, now also Death the Crellic Element — is struggling to find his place after the war. The one thing he’s certain of is his bond with Valentine Philbert, a gentle maintenance worker raising his son. Val never expected love again, but recognising Verion as his mate changes everything. Now, with peace bringing new challenges and the citizens of Charybdis Station unsure what to make of Death, the two men must navigate doubt, prejudice, and their own fears to claim their future together.

This was a wonderful story centred on love, family, and prejudice. I especially loved how Verion — even as Death — was shown to be just as normal and vulnerable as anyone else when it came to relationships, simply carrying a few extra challenges along the way. The blend of found family and real family gave the book so much warmth, and the emotional depth ran through every chapter. The feelings were clear, heartfelt, and incredibly easy to connect with. A beautifully emotional read that balances tenderness, identity, and acceptance. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: The Captive's Curse by Eliot Grayson 2 of 5 stars

The Captive's Curse

The Captive's Curse by Eliot Grayson
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Lord Cyril, unwanted by his family and unable to control his dawn magic alone, is captured by Ser Enzo, a gruff highwayman who wants nothing more than to ransom him and be rid of him. But Cyril needs Enzo’s touch to keep his magic stable, and that reluctant dependence quickly turns into something neither expected. As they clash, tease, and rely on each other, their captor‑captive bond shifts into a dangerous, irresistible connection that threatens both Cyril’s heart and Enzo’s hard‑won freedom.

I struggled with this one. The story focused far too much on Lord Cyril’s spoiled, rambling behaviour and Ser Enzo’s constant amusement at his complaints. Instead of feeling like their dynamic was growing into something deeper, it often came across as one man tolerating the other. For me, there was no real sense of love or affection between them — just irritation on one side and indulgence on the other. Without emotional development or genuine connection, the romance never quite landed. A disappointing instalment, especially when the potential for a richer bond was right there but never explored. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Witch's Familiar by T.J. Nichols 4 of 5 stars

The Witch's Familiar

The Witch's Familiar by T.J. Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jude Sullivan reluctantly travels to a remote town to investigate a creature killing livestock, determined only to prove to the Coven he isn’t a threat. The last thing he wants is a familiar — or the attraction he feels toward Rob Mackenzie, the local man hiding the fact he’s a bear shifter. One impulsive kiss reveals they’re fated mates, complicating everything just as the danger escalates. Working together, Jude and Rob must stop the creature and figure out why fate paired two complete opposites.

I loved the unexpected intensity of that single kiss and how it instantly bound Jude and Rob together, even though neither of them was happy about it at first. Their reluctant connection made the unfolding relationship feel wonderfully tense and compelling. The mysterious creature was a great adversary, and I really enjoyed that it took both of their strengths (Jude’s magic and Rob’s shifter instincts) to take it down. The investigation had a smart, engaging feel to it. The politics within Jude’s coven added another intriguing layer, hinting that something deeper might be at play beyond the creature attacks. With danger, drama, and plenty of emotion, this story delivered a satisfying mix of paranormal tension and growing affection between two reluctant mates. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Rebel's Mate by C.W. Gray 4 of 5 stars

The Rebel's Mate

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finn Sterling is settling into his role as Blue Fleet lieutenant when he’s tasked with finding a large group of missing Vextonians. During the search, he meets Aiden Crow — his fated mate — a man still grieving and driven by vengeance. As they work together, Finn and Crow grow closer, and their mission to find the missing becomes a shared fight to save the innocent before time runs out.

I really enjoyed how challenging — and rewarding — the mission to find and free the missing Vextonians was. It wasn’t solved with brute force but with careful analysis, negotiation, and mostly non‑lethal tactics, which made the rescue feel thoughtful and earned. The relationship between Finn and Crow was immediate, but what made it compelling was how they learned to compromise and work together as true partners while navigating the retrieval. Their dynamic balanced instinctive connection with genuine teamwork. There was plenty of drama and danger, but also tenderness, emotion, and the growing warmth between them. A gripping, heartfelt instalment that blends action with deep feeling. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: The Royal Curse by Eliot Grayson 4 of 5 stars

The Royal Curse

The Royal Curse by Eliot Grayson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Prince Nikola’s curse leaves him dependent on a potion that suppresses his magic and prevents real connection. When he and his guard Andreas are stranded and the potion runs out, Andreas must break his usual distance to keep Nikola safe. What should have been a single act of survival becomes something deeper, as Nikola’s magic — and his heart — begin to crave Andreas in a way neither expected.

I loved how the connection between these two men slowly shifted from duty and necessity into something far more meaningful. The danger of their journey — along with Nikola’s sharp edges and arrogance — pushed them together at first, but over time that tension softened into genuine affection and eventually love. Lucas’s steady presence and the way he handled everything with patience made their growing bond feel earned and emotional. With so many feelings and high‑stakes moments woven throughout, plus the drama surrounding their survival, this story delivered both heart and intensity. This was an MM story with mature content.

Remnants: A Psychic Visions Novel

Remnants: A Psychic Visions Novel by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Devon Blue never meant to be a mother, but when her best friend dies, she takes in the twins and struggles to keep them afloat. A dream home seems like the fresh start they desperately need. Detective Camden Hartwell, her new neighbour, doesn’t believe in fate, yet he’s drawn to Devon and wants to protect her. But the twins begin to change, and eerie figures appear beyond the fence. Their new beginning isn’t haunted from within—the danger is waiting outside.

This story pulled me in with the layers of betrayal that slowly surfaced around Devon, each new revelation making her world feel more dangerous and far less trustworthy. I loved how the psychic abilities woven through the plot added tension and mystery, turning every encounter into something charged and unpredictable. Camden was a standout — steady, protective, and determined to support Devon through every twist she faced. The ghostly figures lurking beyond the fence added a wonderfully eerie edge, giving the mystery an extra chill. A gripping blend of suspense, psychic intrigue, and emotional connection.

The Captain's Mate

The Captain's Mate by C.W. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Draif has built a good life as a Charybdis Station captain, but lately he’s wanting more — especially with the way he’s starting to look at Lucas. Lucas has always known they were life mates and patiently waited for Draif’s demisexual attraction to grow. Just as their friendship finally begins to shift into something deeper, Humans First threatens Charybdis Station again, forcing them to fight for their home and the future they’re only beginning to imagine.

I loved the sensitive way Lucas handled Draif’s demisexuality — always patient, always respectful — even while they were both juggling the constant threats closing in on Charybdis Station. Draif’s fierce devotion to his family and loved ones really stood out. His protectiveness, his loyalty, and the way he fought for the people he cared about added so much heart to the story. There were emotions and feelings woven through every chapter, balanced with the danger and drama of the final confrontation with Humans First. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Not Open Yet: Contemporary M-Lac Gay Romance

Not Open Yet: Contemporary M-Lac Gay Romance by Della Cain by Aria Grace
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ethan stopped dreaming after losing his Daddy, and the coffee shop they planned together became a painful reminder of the future he lost. When he finally chooses to start living again and opens the shop, he unexpectedly reconnects with Kyle — once Mr. Rupert from his school days — a natural caretaker who sees exactly how broken Ethan is. Kyle’s steady, healing presence becomes the first thing that makes Ethan believe he might have a future again, and their connection grows into something tender and restorative.

This was such a sweet, gentle story about two men whose friendship slowly deepened into something much more. I loved the connection that grew between them over time — patient, steady, and full of quiet care. Kyle’s unwavering support for Ethan was one of the highlights for me. He didn’t just love Ethan; he also respected how important preserving Rand’s memory was to him, and that tenderness made their relationship feel even more meaningful. A soft, emotional read with warmth at its core, and a lovely reminder that healing and new love can coexist. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic with male lactation.

Review: Taste by Cora Rose by E.M. Lindsey 4 of 5 stars

Taste

Taste by Cora Rose by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dante has been helping the monsters of Erethar survive ever since portals opened, donating what their bodies need. Everything changes when he’s asked to shelter Cielo, a gentle, banished Vyastil who believes he’s unworthy of care. As Dante tries to keep him alive, their connection deepens, shifting from necessity to something fated. Dante becomes determined to show Cielo — and all Vyastil — that humans aren’t what they were taught, and that embracing pleasure and connection might reshape their entire society.

This story was rich with emotions and feelings, especially in the way Dante poured his whole heart into convincing Cielo that he was worthy of care, safety, and love. Watching Dante gently, persistently show Cielo a different way to see himself was incredibly moving. I also loved the plots surrounding them, especially the danger and drama that kept raising the stakes. Those moments added tension without ever overshadowing the tenderness growing between them. Overall, it’s a heartfelt, emotional story where compassion becomes its own kind of bravery — and where love slowly teaches a wounded soul that he deserves to be cherished. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Finding His Happiness by Shaw Montgomery 3 of 5 stars

Finding His Happiness

Finding His Happiness by Shaw Montgomery
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

People exhaust him, dating makes no sense, and he’s officially done trying — until he decides he has to research how to find happiness. That leads him to a high‑heeled matchmaker at Bound & Controlled and, unexpectedly, to a man who completely changes his perspective. What starts as a reluctant experiment turns into a journey of self‑discovery, where he explores male‑male attraction for the first time, stumbles into a D/s dynamic he never knew he wanted, and begins to understand his autism in the context of romance.

It was genuinely refreshing to read a romance with an autistic main character, especially one that explored how autism shaped his understanding of sexual attraction and connection. That thoughtful analysis gave the story a unique emotional depth. I did find the writing style difficult at times, which pulled me out of the story and detracted a bit from the overall experience. But I absolutely loved how patient and steady Palmer was with Ferris, giving him space, reassurance, and the kind of gentle support Ferris needed. Watching them find a way to love each other — not despite Ferris’s autism, but alongside it — made the story feel tender, emotional, and very sweet. This was an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.

The Engineer's Mate

The Engineer's Mate by C.W. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beck Brackenstone, a sweet, family‑minded Grell, finally meets his life‑mate — Guild Master Beol — only to realise he has no idea how to court a powerful assassin or handle the secrets he’s been keeping. Beol, hardened by his past and burdened by responsibility, is instantly bewitched by Beck but struggles with deep‑rooted trust issues. They may seem mismatched, but they’re perfect for each other — and with the Crellic Queen and Humans First targeting Charybdis Station, they’ll need that connection — and their friends — to stop the looming destruction.

I loved the undeniable connection between Beck and Beol, even though both of them were awkward, guarded, and carrying secrets that made it harder for them to come together as mates. Beck’s secret was one of my favourite parts of the story, and I especially loved how openly and wholeheartedly Beol accepted it. Their personal struggles were woven into a wider plot full of danger and drama. The progress against the Crellic Queen really showed how much they’d learned from earlier skirmishes — and from the books they translated — which made the final confrontations feel earned. The whole story was packed with emotions, tension, and heartfelt moments, making their journey as compelling as the action surrounding them. This was an MM story with mature content.

Satin Snuggles

Satin Snuggles by Avery Rhodes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ellery has been estranged from their parents for years, leaving Tristan as their only real family. At twenty‑five, they’ve built a good life but still long for the Daddy who’ll make them feel safe and cherished. When they and Tristan fall ill during a visit, Ellery expects nothing more than a rough night of being looked after. David, a forty‑four‑year‑old artist, has spent years waiting for the right little to share his home and heart. Helping his best friend care for two sick subs seems simple — until he meets Ellery and realises he may have finally found the person he’s been searching for.

This story has such a lovely sense of fate to it — a completely coincidental meeting that turns into exactly the connection both Ellery and David have been longing for. David recognises almost instantly that Ellery needs steady, thoughtful care, and he steps into that role with a quiet determination that feels both natural and deeply comforting. Their relationship as Daddy and little fits them perfectly, especially with how fully David accepts Ellery’s Princess side. There’s never hesitation, never judgment — only warmth, reassurance, and the kind of steady presence Ellery has always deserved. Both of them go through a wave of emotions as they learn to trust what they’re building together, embracing every part of themselves and each other. It’s tender, heartfelt, and full of the kind of acceptance that makes their bond feel truly special. This was an MX story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Stars Like Confetti: An MX Age Play Romance

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Theo and Shea fall for each other all over again in one intense week. For Theo, seven days are enough to realise he wants a future with Shea. For Shea, a single look brings all his old feelings rushing back — only now he’s returning as the man he’s become after transitioning and being forced to hide his true self. Both know love wasn’t enough the first time, but this week might be their chance to make it different.

The undeniable connection between Theo and Shea shines through every moment of this story. I loved how fate — with a little help from Shea’s best friend — stepped in to bring them back together again, giving them the second chance they both clearly needed. Theo’s tenderness and the way he looked after and cared for Shea was beautiful to read, adding so much warmth to their reunion. The whole story felt emotional, sweet, and deeply heartfelt, capturing the magic of rediscovering someone who has always held a piece of your heart. This was labelled as an MX story but it felt like an XX story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: The Consort's Curse by Eliot Grayson 4 of 5 stars

The Consort's Curse

The Consort's Curse by Eliot Grayson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Remi, a sheltered dawn‑mage forced into a political marriage, is taken from his abbey to wed a stranger and hopes his new husband won’t exploit him or his magic. Stefan, dragged home to serve another of his father’s schemes, believes Remi is a beautiful but deceptive pawn meant to manipulate him. Determined not to fall for it, he vows to keep his distance — even as resisting Remi becomes increasingly impossible.

I really enjoyed how their immediate attraction kept working against their shared determination to avoid sleeping together. That tension made every glance and hesitation feel charged. It also became clear that both men were caught in the middle of other people’s plots, some of whom seemed almost determined to push them together whether they liked it or not. There were strong moments of danger and drama, and the emotional undercurrents ran through the whole story as they tried to navigate trust, desire, and the political games surrounding them. The mix of feelings, uncertainty, and rising stakes kept the relationship compelling from start to finish. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Jackson by Aja Foxx 3 of 5 stars

Jackson

Jackson by Aja Foxx
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jackson’s brief but intense connection with Cruz turns life‑changing when he discovers he’s pregnant, forcing him to confront his identity as an omega and the danger threatening Black Butte Ranch. For Cruz, the bond was immediate. Returning from a mission to find Jackson carrying his child transforms everything, pushing him to prove their connection and keep Jackson safe while uncovering who is targeting the ranch. Together, they face identity shifts, rising threats, and a growing bond neither can ignore.

This book had so much promise, but for me it ultimately under‑delivered, especially when it came to Jackson and Cruz. Their bond never felt fully committed — the vague, almost obscure phrasing they used left me without any real sense that they’d chosen to stay together, which was disappointing given the emotional setup. I did enjoy the danger and drama surrounding the attacks on Black Butte Ranch, but I was confused about why the later attacks targeted Jackson’s home rather than the main house. A few other details also felt unclear:

- where the farm hand brothers were during the attacks
- when the back door was actually repaired
- why Cruz suddenly became sick
- why only now did Sterling become pregnant

Those loose threads pulled me out of the story at times. There were strong elements here — tension, action, and the potential for a powerful emotional arc — but the execution left me wanting more clarity, more connection, and more certainty in the relationship. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

The Lieutenant's Mate

The Lieutenant's Mate by C.W. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sebastian, a survivor of a brutal past, is finally safe with his daughter on Charybdis Station, but he struggles to believe he deserves his new home — or his mate, Alois. A mysterious Crellic book offers a path toward healing, though not without complications. Alois has dreamed of finding his life‑mate and is determined to support Sebastian through his trauma and his own lingering baggage. Together, they begin building a life and a bond, even as growing galactic turmoil threatens everything around them.

I loved the gentle caution and steady care Alois used in building a real bond with Sebastian. He never pushed, never assumed — he focused on creating a relationship rooted in trust and genuine love, making sure Sebastian felt safe every step of the way. Watching Alois also embrace and love Sebastian’s daughter, while still giving Sebastian the space to contribute and feel included, was one of the most touching parts of the story. There were moments of danger and drama that kept the tension high, and the writing during those scenes pulled me straight in. Through it all, the emotional journey — especially Sebastian’s — was heartfelt and compelling. A beautiful story of patience, healing, and love. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

An English Bear in Berlin

An English Bear in Berlin by K.C. Wells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kieran’s life implodes after a scandal destroys his career and marriage, sending him running to Berlin for escape. Instead, he lands in the middle of Folsom Europe, surrounded by freedom and intensity he’s never allowed himself to explore. There he meets Stefan, older, confident, and immediately attuned to Kieran’s mix of fear and curiosity. What starts as tentative exploration becomes a powerful connection that helps Kieran stop hiding and finally see himself clearly. In a city built on reinvention, the real risk isn’t letting go — it’s falling for the man who shows him who he could be.

This story blended a gay awakening, a first‑time exploration, a protective older lover, emotional healing, and even impact‑focused dynamics into a journey that feels both intense and deeply human. I loved the immediate connection between Kieran and Stefan, and how friends and acquaintances gently nudged fate to make sure they crossed paths again. Stefan’s care in giving Kieran a safe, patient space to explore his identity was one of the most moving parts of the book — supportive, steady, and never rushed. There are big emotions throughout, especially as Kieran works through the upheaval of his old life and the discovery of who he truly is. Stefan has his own feelings to navigate, but it’s Kieran who undergoes the most profound change, and watching that unfold was incredibly satisfying. The ending brought everything together beautifully, and I loved how it all worked out for them both. This was an MM story with mature content and elements of BDSM-like dynamics.

Hooper

Hooper by Aja Foxx
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Liam flees an arranged marriage and months on the run after a single night with Hooper leaves him pregnant. Believing the Black Butte Ranch is the only safe place for his baby, he leaves newborn Emilio on Hooper’s porch before disappearing again. Hooper is stunned to discover he’s a father, and even more shaken when Liam finally returns — exhausted, scared, and still hunted by Eleanor. Reunited, they cling to each other as they prepare to protect their fragile new family from the danger closing in.

This story delivered plenty of drama and danger, especially as Eleanor’s threats escalated and her insistence that Liam — and the baby — belonged to her became more unhinged. That tension made the early relationship between Hooper and Liam feel beautifully tentative, with Liam slowly realising he didn’t have to run anymore. I loved watching Liam find his own place on the ranch, something that helped him feel grounded and genuinely safe for the first time. It added a lovely layer of growth to his character. The only thing I missed was more affection between them — though there were some sweet glimpses once the danger finally passed. Overall, it’s a story full of big emotions, high stakes, and a hard‑won sense of family. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Doreen and Mack barely make it home from Vancouver before a new murder case pulls them back in. It’s supposed to be Mack’s case alone, but when the victim is linked to a determined Rosemoor grandmother who insists on Doreen’s involvement, she jumps in with her loyal animal crew. Together, they uncover local criminals, a hidden crime boss, and twists no one expects — including one that shocks everyone.

This mystery stands out because the case isn’t one of Doreen’s usual historic puzzles — it’s current, dangerous, and far more tangled than expected. I loved how well Doreen and Mack worked together here, openly sharing information and functioning as a real team. The web of connections leading to more dangerous people gave the story a slightly different tone, but in a way that kept things fresh and engaging. Of course, Doreen’s loyal animal crew is right there beside her, offering support, chaos, and charm in all the best ways. It’s an enjoyable mystery that lets you solve the clues right alongside Doreen, making the whole experience easy to follow, fun to feel, and very satisfying.

Just in Time

Just in Time by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

German has spent years guarding celebrities and staying detached, but Blaze — a young, magnetic star — gets under his skin in a way no one else has. Blaze can have anything he wants, yet he keeps gravitating toward German, trying to charm a smile out of him every time they meet. As their paths keep crossing, both men realise there’s something between them they can’t ignore, even if neither is sure they deserve it.

The undeniable connection between German and Blaze shines through the whole story — they orbit each other from the start, and it’s so clear they’re meant to end up together. I especially loved how they recognised the deeper issue within Blaze’s family and were perfectly placed to help resolve it for everyone involved. There’s so much love woven through their journey, and the Christmas moments were warm, sweet, and genuinely smile‑inducing. The story is full of big emotions and clear, heartfelt feelings, all easy to understand and easy to feel right alongside them. This was an MM story with mature content.

My Guide Dog is a Wolf Shifter

My Guide Dog is a Wolf Shifter by Roxie Ray
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Jason goes into hiding by taking on the absurd plan of posing as a guide dog, while Violet is trying to rebuild her independence after losing her sight. She agrees to a trial with the oversized “dog” named Jason — only to meet Human Jason, her new cooking instructor, soon after. As lessons, errands, and unexpected chemistry pull them closer, Violet’s world expands again, and Jason’s safe hiding place becomes something far more complicated. Neither of them planned on feelings, but “temporary” doesn’t stay temporary for long.

The title alone was enough to tempt me into reading this, but I ended up feeling a bit disappointed because so much of the story simply didn’t make sense. I kept wondering how Jason managed to have a mobile phone while supposedly hiding as a guide dog, and why Violet suddenly lost touch with important people only for them to reappear later without explanation. I did like the ending — it was sweet and satisfying — just not the confusing path the story took to get there. This was an MF story.

The General's Mate

The General's Mate by C.W. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Leti and Hack are newly mated, but instead of settling in peacefully, they’re thrown into danger and responsibility. Leti’s research into Dr. Morrick’s artifact reveals a threat that could endanger the entire galaxy, while Hack returns to Charybdis Station only to face new duties and a looming war with the Concord. As everything escalates around them, the two must rely on each other and learn to stand together, because far more than their happiness is at stake.

This continuation of Leti and Hack’s story is packed with changes, chaos, and rising danger as the situation with the Concords intensifies and the mystery of the artifact grows even more alarming. Amid all the upheaval, the book still finds room for tender moments, especially through Leti’s endless capacity to give love — one of the most touching parts of the story. There’s plenty of danger, drama, affection, and warmth, creating a balance that kept the story engaging from start to finish. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book, which I’m sure will be just as enjoyable (and just as delightfully cheesy). This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: Kane by Zack Wish 3 of 5 stars

Kane: An Age Gap Russian Mafia Forbidden Dark Romance

Kane: An Age Gap Russian Mafia Forbidden Dark Romance by Zack Wish
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Kane, raised to kill rather than lead, is forced to take over his family after his brothers die. William, a young PhD student and Little, lives a quiet academic life until a chance encounter with Kane pulls him into danger and desire. Their connection escalates fast, and when fate traps William deeper in Kane’s world, walking away stops being an option.

The connection between Kane and William is undeniable, even though it comes at the worst possible time for Kane and is genuinely dangerous for William. That tension gives the story energy, but it also highlights some gaps. This book has a clear focus on spanking, yet there’s no discussion of limits or boundaries, which made parts of their dynamic feel unbalanced. I also missed the softer, nurturing side of being a Little — something William only really experienced when he was with other Littles rather than with Kane himself. The plot is engaging and the characters compelling, but the romance would have felt stronger with more affection, communication, and emotional care woven into their dynamic. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Decker by Aja Foxx 3 of 5 stars

Decker

Decker by Aja Foxx
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jasper flees the city to escape harassment from Gerald Hughs and hides with his grandfather, but the danger follows him. Decker returns home after his own grandfather urges him to protect Jasper, a vulnerable omega being targeted by bullies and a predatory suitor. Decker brings Jasper to safety at Black Butte Ranch, where they grow close and begin healing together. But Gerald refuses to let go and tracks Jasper to Montana, convinced Jasper belongs to him. As the threat escalates, Jasper must face his past while Decker prepares for a final showdown. When Gerald makes his last attempt to reclaim him, Decker stands firm, proving that love — and the community around them — is stronger than fear.

I enjoyed this story, but I was surprised — and honestly a bit disappointed — that there was no real mention of love between Jasper and Decker. Jasper’s situation was impossible, and it took the entire Black Butte Ranch community and their allies to keep him safe, which added great tension and heart to the plot. What felt less convincing was how quickly Jasper and Decker’s relationship shifted from protector to lover to something seemingly permanent. The speed of that progression, without much shown in the way of love or affection, made the romance feel a little unbalanced. Still, the story was well written, easy to follow, and full of emotion and danger. I enjoyed the journey — I just wished the romance had been given more space to truly grow. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: Shelter by Reese Knightley 5 of 5 stars

Shelter

Shelter by Reese Knightley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sage is a lone, efficient assassin who never lets anyone close — until Law Steel, the one man who refuses to back off. When bodies start dropping, Sage recognises the threat from his past, and this time it’s targeting the few people he cares about. Law won’t walk away, staying beside him as the danger closes in. With the enemy tightening its grip, the only thing they can hold onto — and the only real way out — is each other.

This instalment delivered plenty of danger and drama, with the threats against Sage (YA tech specialist) and Law (Genesis 2nd in command) escalating until more of their team and the other related teams had to step in. I loved watching how, through all of it, Sage realised again and again that Law truly had his back — and how quickly they became necessary to each other. For all their strength and sharp edges, there were real emotions, feelings, and flashes of passion woven through the chaos, giving their relationship depth alongside the action. The balance between intensity and vulnerability worked well, and the writing stayed clear, engaging, and easy to follow from start to finish. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Freeze Frame by E.M. Denning 4 of 5 stars

Freeze Frame

Freeze Frame by E.M. Denning
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

David’s life doesn’t change much after adopting a rescue dog — until his new pup reconnects with an old friend at the park, leading David to meet the dog’s owner, Josh. Josh lives a split life: at work he’s River, a trans adult‑industry performer and cameraman; off the clock he’s just Josh, a new dog dad trying to find balance. What begins as dog‑park hangouts turns into friendship, then something deeper. To make it work, Josh has to trust that David knows what he wants — and that Josh’s career won’t scare him away.

The undeniable connection and attraction between David and Josh shines from the start, helped along beautifully by the easy friendship between their dogs. What really stood out, though, was how much emotional intelligence both men needed to navigate the people around them — and how well they rose to that challenge. I especially loved the way David handled Josh’s identity as a trans man, asking the right questions with care, respect, and genuine curiosity, both for everyday life and for intimacy. It made their growing bond feel thoughtful and grounded. The story is full of emotions, feelings, and warmth, and watching them build something real together was incredibly satisfying. A tender, heartfelt romance with depth and compassion. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Crowe by Jacki James 5 of 5 stars

Crowe

Crowe by Jacki James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Noah has spent six months rebuilding his life after escaping hell, finally starting to feel safe — until the man who once bought him resurfaces to claim him. Terrified, he turns to Three Bears Tactical, the only people who ever made him feel protected. Crowe normally handles training, not protection, but when Noah returns shaken and determined to fight, he steps in. Keeping Noah close becomes more than duty, and the line between protection and something deeper blurs fast. For Crowe, guarding Noah stops being a job. It becomes personal.

I loved how Crowe stepped up to protect Noah, even as Noah’s buyer escalated the danger and drama in his attempts to drag him back. The tension stayed high throughout, but the story balanced it beautifully with the growing love between Crowe and Noah. Their romance was woven seamlessly into the wider plot about a people‑trafficker who believed he was untouchable — and hated losing control. The book was full of emotions, feelings, and passion, especially as the two men tried to navigate their connection while leaning on the rest of Three Bears Tactical for support. A gripping mix of danger and heart, and a romance that felt both intense and deeply earned. This was an MM story with mature content with a Daddy/boy dynamic.

Review: The Mercenary's Mate by C.W. Gray 3 of 5 stars

The Mercenary's Mate

The Mercenary's Mate by C.W. Gray
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Leti Ando desperately needs to get off‑planet to rescue his loved ones, so he — plus his companions and menagerie — secretly boards a ship, not realising it belongs to mercenary captain Will Hackett of The Blue Solace. Will has been restless for months, but everything shifts when he discovers Leti is his mate. Their bond forms easily, even as the crew takes on a dangerous mission to transport a scientist and a mysterious artifact. When Concord mercenaries interfere, their fast, effortless romance is tested by threats far bigger than either of them — and staying alive becomes the real challenge.

This was very much an instalove romance for Will and Leti, and while their bond forms quickly, I did enjoy how warmly the crew of the Blue Solace embraced Leti and his whole extended “family.” That sense of found‑family support added a lot of charm to the story. The book was a little light on character development, and the emotions and feelings tended to stay at a high level rather than digging deeper, but even so, the journey was fun and engaging. Overall, a sweet, easy read with plenty of heart. This was an MM story with mature content and MPREG.

Review: Holden by Kate Hawthorne 4 of 5 stars

Holden

Holden by Kate Hawthorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Holden, a quiet tattoo artist, ends up taking Bryce — his chatty co‑worker Merrick’s younger brother — to lunch on Bryce’s first day in LA. Their attraction is instant, and what starts as a casual, secret fling quickly becomes a safe space for both of them: Holden helps Bryce slow down and explore what he wants, while Bryce encourages Holden to speak up for his own needs. But their secret can’t last forever, and once Merrick finds out, their fragile new relationship faces a real test.

This book leans heavily into kink (especially breeding themes) and there’s plenty of heat, but what really holds the story together is the steady thread of relationship angst running underneath it. Even though the colleague’s‑younger‑brother trope can feel a bit overdone and slightly manufactured here, I still enjoyed how well they helped each other communicate and grow. Their emotional push‑and‑pull gave the story some depth, and the way they learned to express what they needed from each other was  satisfying. The rooftop scene at the end was a standout moment — warm, hopeful, and the perfect way to close their arc in this instalment. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Beast Who Broke Me by Leighton Greene 5 of 5 stars

The Beast Who Broke Me

The Beast Who Broke Me by Leighton Greene
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caligula escapes Damiano Orsini, the beast who once bought and caged him, thinking he can reclaim his throne alone — but he quickly learns he can’t survive without help. With no other options, he returns to Damiano determined to use and control him instead of being controlled. Living under Damiano’s roof again blurs every line. Strategy turns into surrender, and the man who chained him becomes the only thing standing between Caligula and whoever wants him dead. Wanting him is dangerous… but losing him might be worse.

The push and pull between Caligula and Damiano only intensifies in this instalment, swinging sharply between brutality and unexpected tenderness. Their dynamic is volatile, emotional, and constantly shifting, and I loved how many clear, vivid feelings were woven through every moment. Both men make miscalculations along the way, but the biggest mistakes hit right at the end — and that cliffhanger lands hard. The story captures perfectly how thin the line between domination, dependence, anger, and longing can be, and how tangled their connection has become. A gripping continuation full of emotion, tension, and raw intensity. I’m absolutely ready for the next part. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Open Liner by Katherine McIntyre 4 of 5 stars

Open Liner

Open Liner by Katherine McIntyre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

August’s awful day takes a turn when a kitchen fire brings firefighter Drake into his life — who also happens to be his ex‑girlfriend’s brother. With his parents planning to move away, August feels more alone than ever and considers leaving town too. Drake, stuck in a rut, throws himself into organising a charity concert and ends up needing August’s help. Their chemistry grows fast, but with August unsure about staying and Drake unwilling to hurt his sister, acting on it becomes complicated.

The connection between August and Drake is undeniable from the start, even though it feels completely forbidden because of Serena and the complicated ties she has to them both. That tension adds an emotional edge to every moment they share as they slowly shift from attraction to something deeper. Their dating journey is full of feelings — longing, hesitation, hope — all heightened by August’s torment over whether he should move away with his parents or stay and take a chance on something real. Watching them fall for each other while navigating that uncertainty gave the story a strong emotional pull. A heartfelt, easy read with plenty of warmth, conflict, and connection. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Beast Who Bought Me by Leighton Greene 5 of 5 stars

The Beast Who Bought Me

The Beast Who Bought Me by Leighton Greene
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caligula Clemenza, once a mafia prince, is now the last heir of a bloodline being hunted down. With no allies or resources left, he turns to an underground auction where desperate men are sold. Instead of being bought by a stranger, he’s claimed by Damiano Orsini — a man with a long‑standing vendetta against Caligula’s father. Dragged into a private prison built just for him, Caligula expects cruelty, not protection. But when danger follows him, Damiano becomes both captor and shield… and the real risk becomes how much Caligula starts wanting him to stay.

Their relationship begins with possession, cruelty, and a power imbalance that’s impossible to ignore — but as events force them to rely on each other, that dynamic slowly shifts. I loved how their connection grew into something neither of them expected, showing just how thin the line between love and hate can be. What stood out most was how clearly their thoughts and feelings were written. Every moment — fear, anger, longing, confusion — was vivid enough that I felt like I was living it alongside them. Watching them move from enemies locked in a cage of vengeance to reluctant partners working together was gripping. I’m definitely looking forward to the next instalment and seeing where their volatile, compelling bond goes next. This was an MM story with mature content.
