Callahan finally realizes Baxley isn’t just teasing — he’s been sincerely pining for him for years. Once the truth clicks, Callahan’s curiosity overrides his “straight” label, and everything shifts. Baxley, armed with charm, patience, and long‑held hope, is more than ready for this plot twist — and Callahan never really stood a chance.
This novella centres beautifully on the growing relationship between Baxley and Callahan as Callahan finally realises he’s been making assumptions about Baxley that were never true. Their long‑overdue conversations about emotions and feelings were a highlight, adding warmth and honesty to their shift from friendship into something deeper. A short, engaging read with a satisfying focus on communication and connection. This was an MM story with mature content.
