Review: Bound by Kate Hawthorne 4 of 5 stars

Bound (Trophy Doms Social Club #4)

Bound by Kate Hawthorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dalton Fox comes from old money and his life is mapped out that he will become a lawyer, buy a house, get married and have children. He has the first two but is happy playing the field with his close-knit group of friends. Then he is hit with the surprise that he is married to someone from college - Carter Emerson Royce IV - and he wants him to come to New York and pretend they’re the perfect picture of domestic bliss. Ivey just needs to win over the co-op board for the most upscale building in New York so he can have the penthouse that he has wanted for years. When he is asked about his marital status he produces the marriage certificate between him and Dalton from Las Vegas. He just needs Dalton to come to New York, pretend they are happily married and in love, and then they can divorce and both be free. Dalton and Ivey are compatible in more ways than one, and the spark between them is very bright and very real. Dalton's life is in California and Ivey's in New York. and there is far more than them being legally bound, they just need to make decisions and move towards a future together.

I found the start of this story a little boring but as I got into it I became more invested and wanted a good result for them both (no matter their interfering fathers). I loved their passion and their devotion to each other once they made their final decisions. Their kinks fit together perfectly as Ivey was a service sub and Dalton a dominant. I loved the way that they did their best to handle problems that they faced together and talked to try and keep communication clear and open. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.

Review: Just Another Day At The Morgue by B.L. Maxwell 4 of 5 stars

Just Another Day At The Morgue (Spirit Boys Series)

Just Another Day At The Morgue by B.L. Maxwell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bran Tanda works at the hospital morgue despite the fact he can see and hear all the spirits that tend to congregate there. Jordan Amid is Bran’s assistant. He’s reluctant to interact too much with the dead since he can feel all the pain from their death and the confusion they’re left with. But he’s drawn to work there with Bran, and his ghost dog Buddy. Bran and Jordan are thrown into a world where things are changing, and without their help, everyone will suffer the dead. Stronger together than separately, they’ll both need to face their fears and find the strength they’ll need to fight the evil forces that threaten them and all of humanity.

I enjoyed this prequel to the new Spirit Boys series. In this book, we learn a little background about them and their current skills. I loved ghost dog Buddy and I hope he can help them both with what is to come. I will read the first story in the series to find out what happens next. Easy to read, feel and understand.

Review: Corporate Bodies by Ali Ryecart 3 of 5 stars

Corporate Bodies (Urban Love, #3)

Corporate Bodies by Ali Ryecart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jake Stafford is up and coming at the investment firm where he works, so finding out that his new boss is corporate legend, Oliver Lester, Jake wants nothing more than to learn from the best in the business. With a twenty-year age gap, Oliver tells himself that he can't give in to his growing attraction to Jake but it is becoming impossible to ignore. What could they have in common? All it takes is one stolen kiss to discover the answer is more than they could ever have known. Dark clouds from the past are gathering - can they be strong enough to get past them?

I enjoyed this story. I liked that younger Jake was often the one to reassure and give confidence about their relationship to the older Oliver. There were a fair number of discussions about emotions and feelings although I do think everything would have gone better for them if there were more. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Rogue by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Rogue (Damaged Devils #9)

Rogue by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Scott is a podcaster on a hit show and jumps from bed to bed on the back of that fame. When Scott saw Anton he knew he was dangerous as he was part of the Irish mafia but he couldn't stop himself from chasing him as he was so sexy. Anton knew about Scott and his reputation and thought they were just having a bit of fun as he is not a relationship person but then Anton became addicted to Scott. There’s no way Scott understands the deadly beast he’s unleashed, and it might cost him everything.

I enjoyed this story as it was all about passion, love and mental health. It was great to see Anton being less closed off and I loved the way that he was given hints by friends on things he should do because he had no clue. There was some danger and drama around competitors to the Irish mafia and it was a nice brief visit from friends as they worked to resolve the situation. Lots of emotions in this story as Scott was spiralling and then helped back to a more normal life. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Loving Liam by Alex J. Adams 4 of 5 stars

Loving Liam (Liverpool Boys Series Book 3)

Loving Liam by Alex J. Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Five years after his serious assault, and unlike others who had perfect lives with partners, Liam's life had fallen apart finding himself in and out of rehab and unable to hold on to a job. He had started to wonder if he could care for anyone (including himself) anymore. Then Detective John Palmer turned up and offered to help. Can he learn to be the Daddy that Liam needs and when the past catches up can he love Liam enough to get him through everything?

This was a book with many facets but they all had Liam and John at the centre. I loved that John was prepared to work out what Liam needed and to be there for him. The link to the two men who had attacked Ziggy and Liam to a current case was interesting and I did wonder what caused the siblings to be like that. John's parents were lovely and it was great that they accepted Liam into the family so quickly. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Skinner by Athena Steller 4 of 5 stars

Skinner (Daddy's Boy, #7)

Skinner by Athena Steller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Marco is a service sub so working in a restaurant is a good match for him. He looks forward to one mysterious man who comes into the restaurant and makes desire bubble inside Marco. The man that Marco craves to call sir and Daddy might be the only one to ever satisfy his unique kink. The more Marco learns about Skinner, the more certain he is that he’s found his forever person. He just needs Skinner to trust him in return. Skinner sees a starving street rat whenever he sees himself in a mirror no matter the expensive suit he is wearing. He knows he should let Marco go but he needs to protect him and just maybe Marco is the one that can help Skinner carry his burdens.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were perfect for each other coming together in their version of a relationship that worked for them. Marco was so sweet and needed to fulfil his kink in a safe environment and Skinner needed him to round off all of his rough edges and give him a solid foundation. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with a D/S and Daddy/boy relationship with mature content.

Review: Finding Beau by Alex J. Adams 5 of 5 stars

Finding Beau (Liverpool Boys, #2)

Finding Beau by Alex J. Adams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beau was called "Beautiful Beau" by those who made his life such a struggle. First, there was his drug-addict sister whom he was trying to keep safe with a roof over her head, second, there was his manager whom he couldn't say no to if he wanted to keep his sister out of prison and third there was his home which he is barely holding on to. He felt that he had no one to live for, nothing to live for and even though he was only twenty-three was ready to call it a day. Kwanchai is an aspiring K-pop star and he was dreaming big. When he was at a gig in Liverpool the beautiful bartender caught his eye and he wanted to know more about the man with the sad smile who is also taking a large part of his heart. Can Kwanchai make Beau see that he’s worth it, that together, they’re worth it before it’s too late?

This was an emotional read and I felt for Beau who was in an impossible spot caught in a repeating cycle unless he could find a reason to break free from that. Kwanchai was coping with his struggles although not on the same level as Beau and I could feel empathy for his situation. The two together were something special and it was great to see how Kwanchai was prepared to fight for Beau when he was too low to fight for himself. You will be caught up in their story like a moth to a flame. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content. Please read the trigger warnings.

Review: Perfect Ten by K.M. Neuhold 3 of 5 stars

Perfect Ten (Palm Island #1)

Perfect Ten by K.M. Neuhold
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bambi (Ryan) went to Palm Ialdn two seasons ago confused about life and desperate for a change. But now he wonders if it is time to cut his losses and go back home to med school like he had always planned. When tattooed, breathtaking and flirtatious bartender Ten (Tennyson) whom he has been crushing on for ages offers to let him room with him for this off-season there is no way he is leaving yet. Ten is determined that Bambi finally sees the beauty of nature on the island, how to catch a wave and everything that the island has to offer. Will this be the last off-season Bambi spends here or could this thing between Ten and him be perfect?

This was a sweet romance. I loved that the characters were so real although I did find Ten's change from sleeping with everything that moves to being solely for Bambi a little sudden and hard to believe. The joy that Bambi felt as he saw and tried new things was lovely to experience with him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Saving Ziggy by Alex J. Adams 4 of 5 stars

Saving Ziggy (Liverpool Boys #1)

Saving Ziggy by Alex J. Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ziggy left home four years ago and has been selling his body on the streets of Liverpool for the last two. He'd like someone to love him so he can love them too. Then he met a handsome man and thought he had everything he wanted until it appeared he got it wrong and he would be the death of him. Thankfully he survived after paramedic Marc saved him and then continued to save him as he was with him every step. Only time will tell if he can heal from the badly emotionally damaged man he was although it appears that Marc has them too so they can heal together.

This was a dark story but if you can cope with the trigger warnings I enjoyed the love story between Ziggy and Marc who was just so sweet and kind. I loved Marc's Mum and we could all benefit from going out with her for a while. There are a lot of emotions covered in this story and you will want at times to cry, rage and throttle people. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Justice by Lark Taylor 4 of 5 stars

Justice (Damned Connections, #2)

Justice by Lark Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vampire assassin Sebastian has only focused on blood, torture and murder for centuries. Then he sees human Matty smile who is loving and innocent and something dormant in him awakens. But Sebastian is convinced that he will corrupt him and can't give him what he needs however can't stay away. Matty is surrounded by couples who are in love and always thought he would have that. Then after a horrific night, he decided to look for other things in a partner - someone who’s predictable, safe and stable. But he can't stay away from Sebastian when all he has shown is kindness towards him. But he can't keep fighting for them as a couple when he is the only one fighting.

This story was big on emotions and definitely will cause you to shed some tears. Matty was sweet but not quite so innocent and very strong even though Sebastian did break him at one point. Sebastian's painful dark past was very sad but he did eventually get over it for Matty which was a relief as I think one of the friends would have killed him if he didn't. Easy to read, feel and understand you will get emotional as you read this. It was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Protecting His Heart by Elouise East 5 of 5 stars

Protecting His Heart (Guarding Royalty #2)

Protecting His Heart by Elouise East
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Owen is one of the royal bodyguards and when he was younger he lost his heart to his best friend, then made a huge mistake and then Evan moved to Italy. After a few years, Evan is lured back and Owen cannot stay away any longer even though he has a lot to answer for and many apologies to make. Then things get dicey and they have each other's back even if it is the last thing that they do. Owen has no chance of protecting his heart because it already belongs to his best friend, but how do they survive when someone doesn’t want them to?

I loved this book with the best friends who loved each other so much but then Owen did something stupid and Evan put miles between them to try and cope. There were so many emotions and feelings involved in this story and the two men were central to all of that. Owen needed a giant kick in the backside and so I was thrilled when he finally sorted himself out. Evan's parents reinforced their status as a piece of work and so I was so glad he had Owen's Mum to help him. The plot against the bodyguard was interesting and moved on a pace. Easy to feel, read and understand I was addicted to this story. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.

Review: Marshmallow Kisses: Rocky Lake Little's Short Story by Athena Steller 3 of 5 stars

Marshmallow Kisses: Rocky Lake Little's Short Story (Rocky Lake Littles Book 4)

Marshmallow Kisses: Rocky Lake Little's Short Story by Athena Steller
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This short story is set in Rocky Lake, Arizona where there are several Daddy/little relationships. Mickey had been thrown out because of his sexual orientation and ended up in Rocky Lake where he made friends with others in the lifestyle and discovered he was also a little. He finds solo living hard and he just wants a Daddy of his own as his friend's daddies can't keep helping him. Then the daddy of his dreams seeks refuge during an ice storm in the form of Adam's brother Maverick who has a daddy hiding beneath his external personality. Can Maverick give Mickey everything he wants or are the two destined to part ways when the sun begins to shine and the ice melts?

This was a sweet story as Mickey and Maverick finally got together and the HEA that they both deserved. I loved the way that Mickey was able to help Maverick learn about how he should behave and that Maverick had research he had previously done to help him too. Lots of discussions and emotions in this story but it ended with a satisfying HEA. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: The Mobster's Mate by Kiki Clark 4 of 5 stars

The Mobster's Mate

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jaguar shifter Caden is badly injured when human mob boss Quinten Amato and his team find him and seek to find a way to heal him. All Caden knows is that Quinten smells like orange blossom and makes him feel safe no matter the way others fear him. Convincing his bossy human they’re meant to be together isn’t going to be easy. Especially not when Quinten’s certain Caden needs things he can’t get from him - and that being a part of Quinten’s life in the shadows is too dangerous.

I loved this story with the badly injured jaguar shifter and the feared mob boss who was just meant to be together as mates if only Quinten could save Caden and he could persuade Quinten that they are mates who belong together. I enjoyed the strange mixture where a human can be the alpha of a pack and that shifter were happy to accept that. Lots of danger and drama as I would expect in this kind of book. Easy to read, feel and understand with lots of emotions from Caden and Quinten. This is an MM story with mature content.

Omega Island: Senta's Heat

Omega Island: Senta's Heat by Wendy Rathbone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Senta is the omega billionaire owner of Omega Island and has not had a heat for two years because even though he is in his thirties he went through the change early in life. Then one night he has intense pre-heat symptoms that hit him and he vows to go through it alone. Then he meets Raimi who is a younger alpha that he has allowed to come so he can heal after being in a two-year abusive alpha/alpha relationship that denied him orgasms and knotting so he doubts he could ever be a true alpha ever again. They are both attracted to each other but before they can discuss it Senta goes into full heat.

I enjoyed this story with one abused alpha and an infertile omega who get past their loneliness together and find a love which rises above all of the problems that they are facing. I loved that Raimi was very clear and insistent on consent and that Santa should be comfortable and respected at all times. Easy to read, feel and understand. Meeting his Daddy (Coleman Ranch #5)

Meeting his Daddy by A.W. Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Corey is good at keeping secrets including his own and so he never told anyone at the ranch about the pen pal he has had for years. Over the years his friendship with his pen pal shifted into something more. Ashley decided to choose himself and leave the military and go meet the man he loved, his pen pal and his Daddy.

I loved this story with the two strong men who had a unique relationship that strengthened the love between them. I loved that Ashley knew all of the others at the ranch based on the details from Corey in his letters. It was also nice that they were able to communicate with each other due to the history of those letters. Easy to feel and understand it was great to read of such strong men who had real emotions. We Have Till Monday (We Have Till Dawn #2)

We Have Till Monday by Cara Dee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Talented musician Anthony Fender was surrounded by people who were happy after falling in love or reaching some kind of goal, but all he did was be lonely. Then he arranged a vacation to Nashville where he could do a cookery course with celebrity chef August King so he could stop being the only Italian in Brooklyn who couldn't cook. When he met August and his younger husband Camden every plan and all rational thought flew out the window. Their dynamic grabbed hold of Anthony and reeled him in before he even heard the magic word “Daddy.”

I enjoyed this story with the mix of the musical side of Anthony and the intense sexual dynamic which encompassed the three men. Camden was very special and his determination to make August happy long term was inspiring. I did find a few of the things they did within their kink a little uncomfortable but hey all consented so it had to be accepted. Lots of emotions and feelings are explored in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and BDSM-like DDLB and D/s relationships. There are also a few kinks you may find unacceptable around rape.

I enjoyed this story with the descriptions of his marriage and his rather strange husband who was the polar opposite of Mykel who was kind, gentle and focused on giving his partner pleasure. It pays good money and puts him into an apartment in Manhattan, so he feels he would be stupid to turn it down. From dusk until dawn he meets Gideon who is older, quirky and autistic, an uncertain businessman who wants to explore his sexuality. But then Nicky wishes sunrise would never come.

I loved this story with the vibrant and insanely talented musician Nicky who pushed Gideon gently to expand his comfort zone. It was heartwarming to see how he took the time to learn about Gideon's condition and how to help him. Their relationship might have started strangely but there was no way to mistake their mutual passion, love and respect for each other. Empty Heat (Omega Island)

Empty Heat by Wendy Rathbone

Omega Callum suffers from narrow birth and anal canals. He can’t mate without extreme pain and no surgery can help him. So he travels to Omega Island to try to use sexual healing techniques for omegas who cannot be helped by traditional therapies. Alpha Lev is a sexual surrogate, skilled in the art of hands-on sexual teaching and healing, a profession not officially recognized in traditional medicine. Callum and Lev spend a night of intense heat together where methods of pleasure are taught and learned. Personal feelings develop which lead to difficult life choices, sacrifice and hopefully love.

This was a sweet story with a strange twist where the authorities on the island thought it would be a good idea to lie to Callum about something major. Thankfully Lev was able to help Callum through a heat and also use techniques to prove to him that he was not broken. I loved how caring Lev was with Callum and that it ensured that he could cope with everything that he wanted. Easy to read, feel and understand. But Cameron owes Angelo a debt that he can't pay unless he accepts Angelo’s indecent proposal and risks finding out how thin the line between love and hate is.

I enjoyed this story with the clear example of just how close hate and love are. It was also enlightening to find out that assumptions and information from his childhood weren't correct and that he had to adopt a whole new reality. The love and protection that existed within the Marchesi family were quite a contrast to the way they were with everyone else. Easy to read, feel and understand. Delta (The K9 Files Book 23)

Delta by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kat and Badger asked Delta to go and help a retired K9 that is now serving as a comfort animal. When he arrives there his contact Rebecca and Gracie have both vanished and the town is all behaving strangely and being uncooperative. Delta needs to focus on finding the woman he had blood phone conversations with as well as the dog. Rebecca tries to adopt Gracie but it is thwarted and she then stumbles on something sinister and realises she is out of her depth. All she can do is hope that Delta comes through for both her and Gracie … before it is too late.

I liked this story which was a good mixture of the aspects of the war dog and Rebecca merged into the corrupt town and the effect of the power that can be welded by a single big employer in town. Delta was magnificent and the time in the sheriff's offices was just spectacular! A complicated plot that drew in a few more technical folks from Ice's team. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an enjoyable book with mature content.

Omega Asher Pierce is a Daddy and as soon as he saw alpha Gabe Carmichael in cute little pajamas he knew he had to have him as his little and his Alpha. Gabe ignored his flirtatious advances but he knew he had to keep trying. When Gabe is injured Asher hopes it gives him the chance to prove that Fate wants them together. Gabe had all but given up as no one wants a bear as a little and so he only has playtime with his best friend. Asher turns his world upside down but he needs to protect his heart as after his injury Asher is everywhere smelling like the sweetest omega, and spouting orders like the Daddy Dom he is. Gabe just doesn’t know what to do about any of it.

I enjoyed this story but Gabe's need to think quietly and resistance to fate became too much in the end. I did think Asher was wonderful if a little overenthusiastic at times. I loved the comparison of an Omega Daddy and Alpha Little. Lots of emotions and complicated feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. This id an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Ambrose by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Ambrose (The Theriot Family, #5)

Ambrose by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ambrose thought he was the one straight Theriot cousin but was wrong as he was unable to say no and felt attracted to Sheriff Eric Winston when he asked for help ridding his territory from evil. Ambrose wants to protect, kiss and possess him as he breaks down every obstacle keeping them apart even if they are in his mind. He also thought he was the only one who could never fall in love and was wrong about that too.

I loved this story and how reclusive Ambrose could be tempted out of his comfort zone for a man on the opposite side of the law. Their relationship was very passionate from the start and that certainly gave plenty of sparks. Lots of decisions for them both to make although the attraction between them made it easy to make. Easy to feel, read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Dax by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Dax (The Theriot Family #4)

Dax by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Travis is Dax's best friend's little brother and he is supposed to keep him safe but he has not seen him for years and s when he turns up hurt and needing a place to stay protection is just one thing he wants to offer him because he is no longer a kid and he looks at Dax as if he also feels heat rising between them. However, Travis deserves a man who can be with him in the light and not have Dax pull him into the darkness even though all his instincts tell him to hold him close.

I loved this story which showed that the pull between the two men was strong and that there was no way that Dax could do the "honourable" thing and just protect Travis. It became clear that Dax needed Travis to balance him and save him from the darkness that could easily take him over. I loved some of their interactions and the way Beau was when he finally realised that Dax and Travis were together was just amusing. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: All I Fear by Abrianna Denae 4 of 5 stars

All I Fear (All's Fair #2)

All I Fear by Abrianna Denae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tennant Mason is the Amato Family’s Second in Command. He is calculating and lethal plus he has an antisocial personality disorder which makes him a perfect weapon. Hollis Maddigan is in hiding and has used his impressive hacking abilities to run from his past. Meeting Tennant was never in his plans but he just gets him and can navigate his quirks and secrets with ease. Roman Amato is the family heir and his whole life he has been in training to take over from his father. The next stage of his training is about to start with Tennant but the tension between them may produce a surprise that neither expected. Tennant and Hollis are a package deal and can give Roman everything he’s always wanted, but never trusted enough to search for. As the three very different men find their way together, sparks fly - both literally and figuratively. But just when Hollis thinks he’s left his past behind, it comes back with a vengeance, threatening to destroy the life he’s built. To save the men he loves, he must crack open his broken soul and remember the person he left behind. In the end, it might not be enough…

** Please read the trigger warnings.

This was a dark story with Tennant and Hollis having a very strange relationship and their sexual proclivities are bizarre but they are both consensual adults. In their ways, they love each other and have an established relationship. Roman and Tennant had sexual tension between them and I did find the acceptance between Hollis of that initially very confusing although over time they all came to love each other. The initial confrontation between the three men with Roman's fathers about their relationship was eye-opening. This was very emotional at times and helped to understand Hollis and why he was the way he was. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and many dark kinks.

Review: Fighting for Freedom by Joelle Lynne 4 of 5 stars

Fighting for Freedom (Fighting for Love)

Fighting for Freedom by Joelle Lynne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Levi is trapped in hell and every hit from his father takes something away from him. Lost after running away from home he just wanted to ask directions from the Knockout Gym but instead found August who didn't seem to understand that he couldn't give in and walk away. Levi walked into the gym looking beaten and confused and every part of August told him that he had to help but it was not going to be an easy task. Levi slowly lets August in but he has to be in the right place to fight for his freedom.

I enjoyed this story where Levi was trapped in a difficult home situation and August tried to help him while getting to know him and falling for him. I loved that August gave Levi a stable environment and when he did get the courage to fight used his available funds to help him. This was an emotional story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Lancelot by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Lancelot (The Theriot Family #3)

Lancelot by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Lancelot meets librarian Julian he wants to hate him as he likes things quiet and orderly and does not take well to rules being broken - the opposite of Lancelot who is impulsive, breaks rules and is a criminal. Julian stood his ground against Lancelot when he made demands and so he knows he has to have him as he never imagined that a mousy and uptight librarian could push all of his buttons. For Lancelot to win Julian over he will need to do something impossible and prove that occasionally he can be reserved and restrained and that he can trust his with his heart.

I loved this story and the stark contrast between Lancelot and Julian. It was also great to see that Tony was central to the story and that he won over Julian too. This was a different story from what you might expect from the Theriot family as Julian was a completely different type of person than the men from this family normally go for. Easy to read, feel and understand this was a softer version of the drama we are used to. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Corbin by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Corbin (The Theriot Family, #2)

Corbin by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Corbin is the youngest Theriot family member and has always been spoilt which means he can be a total brat. Beau is not prepared to put up with it and refuses to cower when Corbin tries to use his family name to make him comply with what he wants. So Beau strives to teach him some manners, patience and what a good work ethic looks like.

I enjoyed this book where Corbin finally met his match which had the happy effect of changing Corbin for the better and be more able to handle some of his family's business. I loved the way that at the end Corbin was able to show Beau that he was capable and that had pleasantly surprised him. A reasonable amount of self-discovery and emotional analysis in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Gunner by Gianni Holmes 4 of 5 stars

Gunner (The Smoky Vale Alliance #2)

Gunner by Gianni Holmes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gunner is the president of the Blood Hounds MC and police chief Ben Witter has always been a thorn in his side looking for anything to arrest him for and take the club apart. But they have a painful shared history that fuels their animosity and hatred as they both loved the same man who was unable to choose between them. When they need to work together on a dangerous case their mutual hatred turns to an explosive heat that is proof that the line between love and hate is very fine and before they know it love is all that they feel. As the investigation in the case proceeds it becomes more and more dangerous and works up to an explosive conclusion.

This book was worth the wait and had a great mixture of the dangerous case and the relationship between the two men. The case was wide-ranging in terms of the people involved and was shocking in terms of the crimes that were being committed. There was a lot of dissecting of their shared history as well as their emotions as they worked through anything they felt for the man they shared as well as what they felt for each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Remington by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Remington (The Theriot Family #1)

Remington by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Henri is forced to work on the streets due to crippling debts and so walked up to the crashed car of mafia boss Remington's car offering help in return for payment. Remington offers him a huge amount of money to stay with him for two weeks and so Henri agrees. Remington is very possessive and cares for Henri and he starts to want their agreement to last forever but he knows that he can't offer him the fairytale ending he wants even though he has let himself fall in love with him.

This was a very enjoyable story with a mixture of sweet moments, vicious moments and heartbreaking moments too. I loved the dynamic between Henri and Remington and the way that Henri was able to soothe Remington to make him a more rounded person. I loved the way that Remington's parents were able to sort him out on his priorities when Henri left after an argument. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Ender's Curiosity by M.A. Innes 4 of 5 stars

Ender's Curiosity

Ender's Curiosity by M.A. Innes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Best friends Ender and Leif watch the Leashes and Lace guys through their flat window and become curious about what they see. Ender loves watching the pups which is fun as they are cute. The crazy man from the folks they are watching thinks that Ender is a pup and that he needs a tail and a Handler - maybe they need to explore what their friendship means as Ender wants to curl up on Leif's lap. Leif likes control and wonders if Ender realises that changing to being a Handler and pup would change their relationship. Maybe it was there all along and Ender and Leif just needed a little push?

This was a sweet story where quiet Ender discovers that he has been a pup all along and that best friend Leif who always took care of him has always been his Handler - they just needed a little push to see what was obvious so that they could take the next step in their relationship. There was a lot of analysis of their emotions, preferences and their relationship. It was lovely to observe their relationship morph into something far more intimate and the happiness they both got from that. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s relationship with a puppy-play dynamic.

Review: All I Want by Abrianna Denae 3 of 5 stars

All I Want (All's Fair #1)

All I Want by Abrianna Denae
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cristian Amato rules his Family with an iron fist and never expects to find someone who could be his equal in all things. Carter Russo started working for the Amato organisation but never expected to get close to the man at the top let alone in his bed. What should be the best day of their lives is shattered by a betrayal that's closer than anyone could have predicted. As secrets are revealed and cracks form in the foundation of their lives, Carter and Cristian must put duty above their hearts. Is their love strong enough to survive, or will it prove to be nothing but lies?

Wow - this is a very dark story and you have to take note of the trigger warnings. There is a lot of violence and a lot of intense sex. The writing style ended up annoying me with all of the looks back to the past and then what was happening in the present. That meant I found it hard to keep track of what was now and what was past. I did find the viciousness of son Roman a little hard to get my head around given his age. I'm not convinced I want to read the next book in the series due to the time skips. This was an MM story with mature content that mostly involved some level of violence.

Xavier (Vigilance, #4)

Xavier by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

X thought he was straight and that protecting his identity was everything except for his family, then scared hacker Emilio came to him needing protection after working for the team. Determined, X decides to give him personal protection and that no one can touch him (except X).

This was a fitting last book in the Vigilance series and gave fearless leader X the happy ending he deserved. Emilio was a typical hacker type being at home inside and a a keyboard which makes you wonder how they could fit together but they do. Lots of danger and drama in this story as everything about human trafficking comes to a head. Easy to read, feel and understand this will make you smile as you observe X falling in love just like the rest of the team. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Leo by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Leo (Vigilance, #3)

Leo by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Leo used to work for the CIA but is now a tattoo artist and a member of Vigilance. When he hires Ezra and he is too curious about his less-than-legal activities he will need all the protection Leo can give him. However, Ezra wants far more of a relationship than Leo should be willing to give to him, but the longer Leo keeps him close for his safety the more Leo wants him in his bed.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who wanted each other from the start but Leo tried to do the honourable thing and stay away to protect him but Ezra was determined to get his man even if it was for a short time. I loved the way that the rest of the Vigilance team were all for Ezra and that when everything came to a head one of them accepted Ezra and his help. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Victor: A Hathaway House Heartwarming Romance by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Victor: A Hathaway House Heartwarming Romance

Victor: A Hathaway House Heartwarming Romance by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Victor was depressed as he had a body which felt more broken than whole and as his injuries were caused by friendly fire during a training session he found it hard to get through the fog. Then one of his therapy sessions introduced him to the concept of finding joy in his life. Bettina is a pastry chef at Hathaway House and it makes her happy to see other people smile. Victor had far too few smiles so she made it her mission to make him smile but then realised that she was too far attached considering he was leaving soon. Can he find a way forward, without leaving her behind?

This was a sweet tale of how kindness and trying to help someone feel Joy could lead to love and happiness. I loved that they had some good discussions about emotions and feelings although they weren't good at discussing love and their future together until it became a problem. A heartwarming story to make you smile. Easy to read, feel and understand.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: To Not Marry My Enemy by Gianni Holmes 2 of 5 stars

To Not Marry My Enemy (The Simple Rules, #3)

To Not Marry My Enemy by Gianni Holmes
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Ford needs to marry someone and when his fiancee disappears three days before the wedding he needs a quick replacement. He knows who can replace her - the person who persuaded her to run - River. As soon as River met Ford he knew they would be enemies as he loathed every gorgeous and pretentious inch of him. Determined to make Ford suffer and want a divorce, and so he is as difficult as he can be. However, the plan backfires when he sleeps with Ford things that a turn he least expected and maybe a divorce is the last thing he wants.

This was just a weird and strange story. Ford was entitled and very closed off and River was just like a spoiled child having a tantrum. I just didn't like either of them for most of the story as it was all a bit ridiculous. Easy to read. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: To Not Date My Best Friend by Gianni Holmes 4 of 5 stars

To Not Date My Best Friend (The Simple Rules, #2)

To Not Date My Best Friend by Gianni Holmes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Years ago Baz met Andy when he was snapping a photo of him in the name of street photography and Baz was upset. Andy lent him his jacket to keep him warm. So they became best friends and Baz buried his crush on Andy. When Andy did a photography assignment in the Middle East it all went wrong and he returned home with mental scars. When Andy returned he found himself in therapy, a marriage which is over, a wife who has moved on hands that did not want to hold a camera. Baz tries to move from being a stylist to a journalist at the magazine he works at and enlists Andy's help with a column. Andy just needs to prove to him that moving from best friends to lovers makes sense when Baz is determined to prove the opposite.

This was an emotional story about love and how that can help to heal. Poor Andy had PTSD which was understandable after what he went through. I found it strange that Andy was best friends with Baz but did not share the details of his ordeal in the Middle East with him until their relationship had changed. A lot of emotions and feelings are discussed in this story although not at a very detailed level. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: To Not Fall for My Doc by Gianni Holmes 3 of 5 stars

To Not Fall for My Doc (The Simple Rules, #1)

To Not Fall for My Doc by Gianni Holmes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Twenty-one-year-old Austin Villiers battled with Hodgkin lymphoma throughout adolescence and has been in complete remission for two years. Dr Greer is the oncologist who treated him and only sees him for occasional checkups. However, Austin walks the wings of the cancer treatment centre where Dr Greer works, spreading hope and smiles. Both are attracted to each other but Dr Greer will not cross that line when he is his patient even though he wants to be his Daddy. This is not made easy when Austin reveals his virgin heart belongs to Dr Greer but can he break the simplest rule of being a medical practitioner by dating a patient?

This was a sweet story showing that love comes when you least expect it to and that you can try hard not to break the rules but sometimes it will still appear broken to others. I loved their relationship and that Austin knew who he wanted and was not going to take no for an answer. I did feel that the introduction for him to Daddy Kink was far too brief and wondered if the colleague who made comments about the conference was the one to inform them. So lacking in depth and detail in places. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Niall by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Niall (Vigilance #2)

Niall by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Niall had worked for the FBI and now worked for Vigilance which gave him more freedom to take down the bad guys. When he meets Marcus it is hate at first sight but his sense of duty makes him handle it when they have to work together to stop a depraved crime ring leads to him pretending to be Marcus’s lover. He can't stay angry when Marcus is the only person he can trust and proximity has Niall giving into his desire for Marcus and wondering if Marcus might be the man who can thaw his icy heart.

This story shows that there is a close line between love and hate. I loved the way that they seemed to rub each other up the wrong way but it also stoked the fire of passion between them. It was great to have Niall put outside of his comfort zone and his boring suits which pegged him as FBI to anyone. The danger they were in for this mission meant they had to trust each other quickly to defend each other and that worked to deepen the relationship between them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fighting Myself by Shae Michaels 4 of 5 stars

Fighting Myself (Fighting for Love)

Fighting Myself by Shae Michaels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Emmit Novak had tried hard his whole life to be different from his siblings and as they were all gay he tried to hold onto a straight identity. When life gets difficult and he takes the job as the receptionist at the LGBTQ-friendly Knockout Gym new people become part of his life. MMA fighter and mentor Alfie Diamond, has Emmit questioning whether it’s time to stop fighting his own heart and desires. Alfie had learnt that he should settle for not finding or deserving anyone special in his life until he met Emmit when he won’t let anything stand in his way; not his demons, an unexpected reminder of his troubled youth, or even Emmit’s preconceptions. Not when Alfie has the chance to win the most important fight of his life - winning Emmit’s heart.

I enjoyed this story with the two sides of emotional struggles- the one for Emmit on his sexual identity and the other for Alfie and his self-worth and history. Lots of emotions and sharing of thoughts and feelings in this story. I was thrilled when eventually they were able to settle into their identities and find the happiness they deserved together. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Giorgio by Silvia Violet 4 of 5 stars

Giorgio (Vigilance #1)

Giorgio by Silvia Violet
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Giorgio was trained as a sniper and is a member of Vigilance. Chosen to protect his boss's son Lane when he has a stalker he is told the one rule he HAS to follow is to keep his hands to himself. When he meets Lane Porter he finds a gorgeous, flamboyant and fascinating man who stretches his self-control to the limit and makes him want him. As the threat to Lane intensifies, they’re forced to hide out in a remote, one-bedroom cabin with danger stalking them from all sides, but suddenly keeping the boss’s son safe isn’t enough. Giorgio's new mission is to make Lane his.

I loved this story with the danger to Lane mixed into the danger to their hearts as proximity and the chemistry between them turned into an inferno. Giorgio didn't stand a chance against the pull of Lane. Lane was a bit of a brat but that fit in well with Giorgio and his personality. A good start to the series and I look forward to reading more about the men in this group. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM book with mature content.
