Review: Praising Haru by Colette Davison 4 of 5 stars

Praising Haru

Praising Haru by Colette Davison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Haru and Kyle met ten years ago and they maintained an online friendship. They are opposites and live two hundred miles apart but are also best friends. When they meet for real sparks fly between them and Haru helps him explore his dominant side as Haru's heart flutters whenever he is praised by Kyle. But Haru wants to return to London to work in the fashion industry whereas Kyle is a brickie and a homebody who wants to stay near to his family. Will there have to be a choice between Kyle and Haru's career or will everything work out?

I really liked this story of the two men with a common background and their friendship which was lovely to see. I loved the name of the cactus lol Their relationship was perfect from the start with their friendship and then they changed to something more physical and then love. There were sad heartbreaking moments but also moments of happiness and joy. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Trashed to Treasured: An M/M Age Gap Daddy Romance by Aria Grace 4 of 5 stars

Trashed to Treasured: An M/M Age Gap Daddy Romance (Blue Collar Daddies in the City Book 3)

Trashed to Treasured: An M/M Age Gap Daddy Romance by Aria Grace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brody was with his high school sweetheart again believing this time it would be different but it was not and worse he made Brody ashamed of his little side and so when Geo took off again he began to believe the lies that he is a sick freak and will never be loved. So to numb the pain and humiliation he turns to alcohol. Aaron runs a junk removal service and salvage store helping people clean out their attack or get rid of stuff before a home move. When he runs into his friend Jesse he offers to take some junk off his hands that he is getting rid of for a friend going through a hard time. It can all be sold or donated to the local shelter but he finds some "personal" stuff that probably didn't mean to be with the rest. When Aaron tries to return the valuables, he finds a broken boy who just needs some love and attention - something Aaron can offer.

I enjoyed this story with the broken little one who needed help to sober up and realise that he actually could be loved and could have the Daddy he always wanted. I loved the way that Aaron cared for him and made sure that he was doing the basic things like eating and drinking enough let alone any of the little stuff which he needed at times of great stress. This was a sweet story and had a lovely HEA. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLM dynamic.

Review: Probably Maybe Omega by A.W. Scott 3 of 5 stars

Probably Maybe Omega (Maybe Mine #2)

Probably Maybe Omega by A.W. Scott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Bradley Pine worked as a librarian which was perfect as he was being paid to spend all of the day in the one place he truly loved. Being nice to the patrons was easy but a new to the town recluse seemed to get under his skin. Alpha Colin Krafter left the city three months ago to find his muse because as an author it had been three months since he had anything inspire him. A certain Omega has captured his eye recently, but the guy wants nothing to do with him.

I enjoyed this novella. I liked the love-hate between the two men to start with that once Bradley recognised Colin as his Alpha soon morphed into a full-on attraction. I loved that Colin was already starting to use Bradley as his new muse even before they were together. I liked that they went through to the future and the MPreg together. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the Omegaverse with MPreg.

Review: Enemy by R.A. Frick 5 of 5 stars

Enemy

Enemy by R.A. Frick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The former leader of the Italian crime family for the Bay Area was Giorgio “George” Greco before he retired. He was now living on his own after his wife had died in childbirth and his children were grown so he was ready to explore a more normal life. Fresh out of college and ready to prove himself to his Russian crime family in San Francisco, Vasily “Basil” Kiselov has gone on the hunt for an enemy but that enemy is George and when he tries he ends up being held captive. As part of that captivity, George becomes Basil's Daddy and they explore some more extreme sexual options which poses the question Is it really kidnapping and torture if they both get turned on by it? When it is the end of their time together there is a problem - George doesn't want to let go of the boy so easily.

I enjoyed this dark story where an assassination attempt becomes the start of a more extreme Daddy/boy relationship which neither wants to walk away from. I loved the way that their relationship started with the whole training and stalking followed by the botched attempt and then the negotiation for the punishment. I loved the way that they both were without each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

** Please note there are issues around consent in this story so please skip if that is trigger for you.

Review: Beautifully Valentined by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Beautifully Valentined (Candied Crush #22)

Beautifully Valentined by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A few years ago Marco ruined his relationship with his twin Enzo and is determined to reclaim that connection but right now he doesn't even know who he is anymore which is getting in the way of restarting his life. Valentine is a cocky boxer and he won't give Marco the space he needs to think while Valentine freely admits he's a bit much he doesn't let that bother him. Valentine has money, looks and fame and Marco is just another game - it's called getting Valentined. Plenty of men and women have been there. Marco is the first one Valentine can’t shake. It’s a puzzle. He’s sure it’ll pass.

I enjoyed this story where the relationship between Marco and Enzo was wrapped into the story about the relationship between Marco and Valentine. Valentine was definitely a player who met his person and managed to change things and clean up his act. I loved the way that he found a way to keep Marco doing what he loved to do even though he wasn't able to do it in his old job. There were a lot of emotions in this story and I could feel those as I was invested in it. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Almost Maybe Omega (Maybe Mine #1)

Almost Maybe Omega by A.W. Scott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Camden Anderson was trying to hang on until his Alpha arrived even though he had no idea who it would be. When out walking he crosses paths with Maverick Pine and it becomes clear that he has known his Alpha all along, just not met him personally until now. Maverick had left town when he was eighteen and never looked back after his enlistment. Now he is retired and back and surprised to see his Omega has been in his hometown all along.

This was a sweet novella that had Camden discover that his best friend's older brother was his Alpha. As with all Omega/Alpha stories after they recognised each other things progressed quickly. I enjoyed that this covered more of their story including MPreg. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story containing mature content and set within the Omegaverse including MPreg.

Review: A Candied Christmas by Charity Parkerson 3 of 5 stars

A Candied Christmas (Candied Crush #21)

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Roscoe and Remington are married and have had an open marriage to bring in a third but nothing can break them. Leo moved to LA after signing on as a model and everyone has been telling him to visit the best coffeehouse around called The Back Porch. Roscoe and Remington know they have met their third and Leo goes with them as he needs a distraction but what he didn't expect was the immediate connection or their determination. But can the pair win him?

I liked this Christmas short story where the two players from the coffeehouse meet their third and get a chance to complete their relationship. I liked the way that they looked after Leo and the way they made sure that he was just as included as they were for presents. This was a sweet story which was easy to read and made you smile. This is an MMM story with mature content.

Beautifully Crushed (Candied Crush #20)

Beautifully Crushed by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

For months Kye has flirted with Sonny to get him to ask him out, then after Sonny unexpectedly kissed him he thought he was finally going to get somewhere but that was six weeks ago. Now Kye hides from him and avoids his calls because Sonny stood him up and so he has lost his chance. Kye will not give a second chance. As far as Onny is concerned guys like Kye do not date him and then when it comes to dinner he freaks but after thinking about it over time he realises that he is an idiot. No matter how hard Sonny tries Kye won't even give him the time of day. Kye and Sonny are looking for exactly what they could find in each other. If only they would stop overthinking everything and ruining their lives.

I liked this story with the two men who were perfect for each other only if they could communicate better and stop making assumptions. I loved the scenes around Kye's parents which were funny. I was sad to have such little involvement of Sonny's Mum as she seemed to be close to him and yet although there was mention of a visit there was nothing in there about it. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: You Had Me at Merlot by G.R. Lyons 3 of 5 stars

You Had Me at Merlot (Destination Daddies Season Two)

You Had Me at Merlot by G.R. Lyons
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Best friends Laurie Scott and Griff Mitchell are going to be laid off from their teaching careers so Laurie takes them both off to a wine country vacation to cheer Griff up at the same time as a Daddy/boy event. When they arrive at the week-long gay retreat, they're both bowled over by a gorgeous boy with a wounded soul. Nicky Parker hurts from a cruel ex but when he wins a ticket to the Daddy/boy event he decides it is time to get out there and meet guys again. When two beautiful men take him by surprise, and his lovelorn heart craves them both. Will Laurie and Griff's friendship survive the mutual attraction to Nicky? Or will they find out there may also be something more between them?

I enjoyed this story because Griff was definitely a Daddy but actually Laurie was one too just not quite the same type. Nicky was a beautiful soul who was doing his best to live life in the gender he was comfortable in after he had started his trans journey. Griff and Laurie loved each other and were living in denial until they were in a position where they could not deny it any more. I did like Nicky as a character and the interaction between Nicky and Ry was emotional but also reminded us all that you should not judge anyone quickly unless you know the facts. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Heatwave

Heatwave by A.D. Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Avery Kirk is back in his small hometown working in his dream career as a dietician and is happy with his beloved grandma close by. Grant Nelson finds himself away from his big city life searching for a grandfather he never knew existed until very recently. His life is facing major disruption as this musician is facing a career-changing move but he is not ready to admit defeat. A record-breaking heatwave, a small wet dog, and long-lost love reunited bring Avery and Grant together. At first, their temporary situation is easy and casual. When feelings get involved, everything changes and decisions become more difficult. Neither man expected to find love, but fate seems to have different plans.

This was a really sweet story around a heatwave, a cute puppy that keeps appearing and fairies. I loved the grandma and grandpa and the story that connects them as well as the way the attraction between Avery and Grant grew over the story. This was an emotional story that was so very sad when Grant went back. I liked the practical ways that Avery suggested so that he could help Grant. I loved the ending with the grandma and grandpa although I wasn't so happy with Avery and Grant as I didn't feel that the commitment was quite enough between them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Learning to Walk (The Education of the Heart Book 3)

Learning to Walk by M.A. Innes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dom Bates likes being helpful and the cuties upstairs have the most wonderful questions that they talk about loud enough for him to hear. Gareth is more concerned about having his questions answered and the way Bates seems to think he should be dating his best friend Cash and Bates at the same time. Cashel isn't sure what is happening when their tornado of a neighbour comes into their life and knows nothing will ever be the same when he ends up on a date with Gareth and Bates. Their neighbour knows him better than he knows himself. When a nosy neighbour decides to help two curious men, questions finally get answers and nothing will ever be the same.

I loved this story with the cute best friends who were curious and the neighbour who helped them with answers and so much more. It was so sweet as they discovered that Bates was a dom, one of them was a sub who was a pup and the other was a switch. Some of their conversations were crazy and so funny. They made a cute throuple which I hope has a long way to go. This was easy to feel, read and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content in a BDSM-like D/s dynamic with the start of pup play.

Please note that Gareth and Cashel were roommates in Save Me Santa which is the story of Brady and Jude by the same author

Review: Living in Zin by G.R. Lyons 3 of 5 stars

Living in Zin (Destination Daddies)

Living in Zin by G.R. Lyons
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mav Jones has a secret - he is desperately in love with his best friend Beau whose husband Dakota is one of his ex-lovers (they are in a Daddy/boy relationship too). When Mav is invited to visit he fears that his desire won't stay locked down. Then a cute shy virgin called Ry walks in capturing all of their attention. When all four end up in bed it leaves Mav feeling torn as wanting anyone but his best friend feels wrong but he can't deny how perfectly they all are together. Mav's life is in another city and when his dream career is possible he will have to talk away from these men for good. Can Mav open his heart without losing everything?

I enjoyed this story which was all about love, being honest about events and feelings as well as compromise. I loved Ry who was so strong and proud while also being careful with his status of trans. I can't comment on the accuracy of this as I have no personal knowledge. I found Beau a little strange as his dropping French into English felt slightly the wrong way around. I found Mav's decisions in the city to be a bit glossed over. The fact that Dakota had lied to his husband for so long was too glossed over to me. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMMM story with mature content and BDSM-like DDLB dynamics.

** I feel there should be a trigger for the sexualised way the Trans character was treated.

Austin's Lost Fireman (Found by Daddy Book 4)

Austin's Lost Fireman by Della Cain by Kaytea Kat
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Trevor loves building with plastic bricks and building toys to play with (his favourite being a firetruck and saving plastic people). When his Daddy buys tickets for them to the Brick & Build Con he thinks he is the best Daddy ever until he discovers that he has a secret family and that he is his side piece. So he immediately cut ties and moved to another city and job. Scared to go to something that will bring out his little side alone his little fireman figure says he will help him. In the conference, he loses his little fireman but a Daddy finds him and makes social media posts to try and find the little one who owned him.

This was a sweet story about a little who loved and then lost his Daddy only to be brave and eventually found his forever Daddy. Trever was just adorable and you just wanted to hug him at some of the painful times in his life. I loved the idea of the social media posts featuring the little fireman which was really sweet. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Beautifully Healed (Candied Crush #19)

Beautifully Healed by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Baker's heart has been broken too many times to believe in love and Seth has no plans to disabuse him of that. Baker is a lawyer and has spent his entire adult life building a respected law firm. A few times he paid attention to finding love but it always ended in the worst way possible. So he doesn't believe in happy endings or good people. So why can't he shake Seth? Seth and Baker had some fun once but that was it as Seth believes in science and chemical attraction. He is just as confused as Baker as to why he keeps seeing him every time he closes his eyes. He should probably stay away. When they find themselves thrust together again, one of them will have to start believing in more than chemistry. Otherwise, they’ll never be healed from the past that shaped them.

I really enjoyed this story with the two men who either through work or their misguided beliefs kept denying their connection and the feelings that were hiding underneath. hey were obviously good friends, Seth's sister was a connection and they were perfect for each other. I have to admit to sometimes wanting to hit Seth around the head! Thankfully they got their HEA eventually. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Beautifully Played by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Enzo left the Navy and moved back home to LA determined to start a new business. When he rescues Aric from one of a handy patron he wonders if he has found what he is looking for. Enzo is gorgeous and tall but Aric has been down that road before things are different this time as Aric is older and knows a seducer when he sees one. Enzo is the one who should take care. Aric doesn’t intend to get played twice. When Enzo’s stubbornness meets Aric’s bitterness, it’s an explosion neither man can resist. Only time will tell if they can withstand the blast.

I enjoyed this story as they tried to work out what happened last time as well as the interference from Enzo's twin brother. They certainly had a rocky road to travel together but I was pleased to see that they started to work together to pick everything. At the end of it all, they were a great couple who had a deep love and devotion that was strong. Easy to read, feel and understand as I definitely felt the sadness and desperation at times. This is an MM story with mature content.

At First Irritation (The Unwilling Adventures of Harlow & Foxx #1)

At First Irritation by Shelby Rhodes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Foxx Honeywell is a vampire with a kink for violence. After a law change, he joins the Hunters Guild which used to kill vampires indiscriminately until they were made legal. The job is made more satisfying and fun by the addition of his partner sexy silver fox human Harlow Blackmore.

It was a nice story with intrigue and mysteries but I did find my attention drifting a little while reading it. I think there was too much emphasis on the violence and bloodthirsty nature and not enough on the story. I also would have preferred more emotions in this story. This was a slow-burn MM story with mature content.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cooper was homeless for two years and has now settled into living with his chosen family. However, his old life is coming to reclaim him and Cooper isn't strong enough to do it alone but thankfully sexy bodyguard Tito never leaves his side and so will be there for him. Tito has been fascinated by the many lavers in Cooper since he came to live with Tito's boss and has known all along that he had secrets just not as big as they really are. Tito is completely in love with Cooper so there is no way he will let him face anything alone. When two worlds collide, both men will have to find their footing. Only time will tell if their relationship will still be standing at the end.

I enjoyed this story as it expanded the mystery as to who Cooper really was as well as solidifying the relationship between him and Tito. I loved all the drama that they went through and the way that Tito was always able to find him as well as calm him down enough to think rationally about what had happened so it could be resolved. I also loved Tito's family and the way that Cooper was accepted. Easy to read, feel and understand you will have a few tears at what Cooper went through. This was an MM story with mature content and reference to childhood abuse.

His Shield (J.T's Bar #1)

His Shield by Sue Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Two years ago, he was broken by his sister's murder by her husband and so Jake Tyler (JT) walked out of covert ops leaving behind his team and his lover Mich Mitchelson. The last thing he expects is for his former team led by Mitch to turn up at his rural bar to say that his ex-brother-in-law has escaped from prison and heading for him and they are there to protect him. Mitch is angry and hurting and not keen to open himself up to more pain. However, there is a strong passion between them but Mitch resents Jake's disappearance and the team represents what destroyed him in the first place.

I enjoyed this story although I did find it a bit confusing at the end about how they had their HEA and where they ended. I did enjoy the plot and premise but it did feel a little strange that as law enforcement people they didn't investigate things more. There were moments of suspense and drama in the story and I loved that the regulars were all retired law enforcement or forces and were more than willing to defend those they considered as their family. This was an MM story with mature content.

A Little Evil Wicked: The world is ripe with food for an incubus these days. Oddly, Damon only wants one man. 4*

Jix has worked for Zealous Blaze for years and it has opened up a world of sexy men for him on the one side he has rock star Hudson who can have any man he wants but Jinx is the only man he has wanted for more than one night. and on the other side, he has the head of security Rocky who considers Jinx as his best friend. It's a mess that Jinx has no idea how to escape. Two men fighting for the same heart is a situation bound to end in heartache for someone. Or maybe not.

I enjoyed this story. I did feel that the three of them were able to accept being together as a throuple far too quickly and easily considering that it is not a normal state of affairs. I expected more discussion and introspection as well as far more discussion between the three of them about their relationship and how it was going to work. It was easy to read. Villainous (Damaged Devils #3)

Villainous by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Archer clawed his way to the top of a crime organisation by being cold, cruel and calculating while not letting anyone close to him. The only person he considers a friend is his longtime guard but still he doesn't let him forget who is in charge. He can't be seen as weak which is why Angel drives him insane as he shouldn't care if he won't be tied down by him and yet Archer won't stop chasing him. Angel is driven crazy by his inability to say no to Archer even though he has almost lost his best friends. Angel knows Archer is cruel and so he has to run he just never expects the way almost losing Archer permanently will wreck him to his core.

I loved this story about the enigmatic leader of the crime organisation and the facts and motivations around him. My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Spencer Wright is known as Zealous Blaze and is the number-one DJ in the world. Everyone knows his name and everyone wants him but he can't stop thinking about Zayn even though the single life forever sounds good. Rich and conscious of working hard on his body Zayn has the worst luck with men even though he is a nice guy. Everyone he meets just wants to hook up and he wants a real relationship. His problem is that his heart is set on Spencer and he doesn't want anyone else. Mixing tracks isn’t Spencer’s only talent. He also has Zayn’s head completely spun out of control with the way he wants Zayn one day, and then he pushes Zayn away the next. Maybe this next time Zayn won’t come back.

This was a good story with the hot and cold Spencer and a determined Zayn who needed to have more confidence in himself. I loved the way that Zayn tried to help Spencer by using a real-life example to help him relate to it. The way that they went to bat for each other in different ways was sweet too. They definitely started as friends that changed into something else. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Beautifully Blind (Candied Crush #14)

Beautifully Blind by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Koda is silently famous - everyone knows his songs but no one knows his name. He has done backup vocals for the biggest names in music and on countless albums for years. He is doing what he loves but his life is not perfect as he is so fiercely independent that it has separated him from the chance to find love and so he needs help if he hopes to learn how to let people in. Luckily, he knows just who can help. Record Producer Felix levelled his life over a year ago and artists have severed their contracts with him so he has too much time on his hands. The only light in his day is Koda. Despite losing his sight at a young age, Koda has let nothing stop him. He’s upbeat and successful, and he’s driving Felix insane with longing. When Koda asks Felix for a crazy favour, Felix sees his chance to finally have the man in his bed. Unfortunately, no one warned Felix he wouldn’t want to leave or that they’ve both been blind in more ways than one.

I really enjoyed this story which was carefully written to put the reader into the same world as both characters - particularly Koda and his disability. I loved the way that they were good friends but had obviously never gone past that barrier together until now. This was an emotional story which was easy to read, feel and empathise with. This is an MM story with mature content.

Seven is one of many boys who were trained through an underground program to follow orders to kill and do other bad things. He broke free a long time ago and so works for himself and uses his skills on his own terms but he has issues around his sanity. He is a shadow and a nightmare but he can't shake one guy. Seven slips in and out of his life and it drives Onyx crazy. He wants to hate him but can't and just when they make some headway to having a real relationship Seven's secrets crash down on them. Onyx has to decide whether he can believe the worst or follow his heart. Either way seems equally doomed.

I enjoyed this story around all of the emotions of both Onyx and Seven (as it appears that Onyx can make Seven mostly sane). I loved the way that Onyx tried to stand up for himself but obviously loved Seven too much to give him up. This was a rollercoaster to read but was passionate and really made you want these two men to have the HEA they justly deserved. Easy to read, feel and understand. Terrell is the star pitcher for the LA Direwolves team and as an openly gay man people either love him or hate him. They have met each other countless times at all sorts of events. Cade has never shunned Terrell and that is good as Terrell has not wanted anyone else more. If Terrell hopes to win one of the sexiest and wickedest men on the market, he must step up his game. There’s another out there who’s already had Cade, and he has no plans to let him get away. It’s a race to see who will land him first.

I enjoyed this story with the professional sportsman who was miserable and really wanted to have Cade for who he was and not who he looked like. I loved that Cade was able to look at everything in a logical manner and work out who he wanted out of the two alternatives that he had. There were a lot of emotions in this story from all of the characters as they worked out who they wanted, what they wanted and what they were not prepared to accept. Easy t read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Artist's Billionaire by Alessia Dalton 2 of 5 stars

The Artist's Billionaire: Bad Boy, Enemies To Lovers Romance

The Artist's Billionaire: Bad Boy, Enemies To Lovers Romance by Alessia Dalton
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

One is a bad boy billionaire and the other is a fiercely independent artist. They come together in a marriage of convenience and will have to learn to compromise, to like each other and to communicate. Can they fool everyone and stay married, will they find a way to make their marriage work, or will their relationship implode?

It was a pleasant story although it did show they both having tantrums like a child before then behaving like adults and then becoming more intimate. I just didn't connect with them both and I did find their behaviours and so-called emotions to be a bit fake and hard to believe at times. This was my first book written by this author and I'm not convinced I will try another one. Contains some mature content.

Review: Legend by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Legend (Terk's Guardians Book 2)

Legend by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Legend saw his father heading in a direction that he can't agree with and so he walks but he can't do that to his little brother Larry who is special. When intel of a government uprising is confirmed Legend swoops in to remove Larry and his tutor. Blair has been looking after Larry for years and had expected her position to continue but when Legend raced in telling them to leave her calm future is in jeopardy. Legend means that nothing is easy or calm when he is around her. As the coup fails Legend's plan deteriorates quickly and Larry's existence is suddenly a prize. Blair would never let anyone hurt her charge-even if it means dealing with and cooperating with the very irritating Legend.

I enjoyed this story with the plight of a very special boy in the hands of Legend, Blair and the team from Terk. I like the whole background of the attempted coup and the sizzling tension between Lagend and Blair. I loved the relationships between Blair and Larry who was such a grown-up ten year old and between Larry and Legend. Lots of twists and turns in the story. The story was well written and you could really feel and empathise with their thoughts and feelings. Contains a little mature content at the very end.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: Average by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Average (Kings of the East #14)

Average by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jerico is one of Zander's team leaders and after hard work and moving to the east coast to run the first cleanup crew on that side of the country, he was far too busy to date anyone. Now new teams are arriving he has more free time and so can focus on the man he has been eyeing for months - Edward - who he is convinced will accept everything about him. Until two weeks ago Edward had no idea that Jericho existed. Edward is as plain and boring as they come as the librarian gave up on love a long time ago. Surely there is no way that someone who looks like Jericho could be interested in him Edward will think of him as a new friend.

I enjoyed this story with the librarian who could not imagine why anyone like Jericho could want him and let Jericho couldn't get him out of his head and have a desperate need to love and protect him. I really liked their passion and the way that Edward accepted Jericho no matter what he did for a living. The attack on Edward was very fortunate to be on a non-working day and the devotion that they both showed each other was touching. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Beautifully Awkward by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Beautifully Awkward (Candied Crush #12)

Beautifully Awkward by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lance is a private detective and has spent his life hiding in the shadows by blending in. Slade is a rock star and so wanted by everyone. Slade is also one of the most clueless and clumsy people on the planet. Lance doesn’t know how to get Slade’s attention when the guy seems totally oblivious to Lance’s desire. The entire situation feels hopeless. Between touring, recording, interviews, and just trying to live, Slade is tired. He hasn’t had a personal life in longer than he can recall. He enjoys spending time with Lance, but he doesn’t think Lance really likes him like that. Slade is kind of nerdy and awkward when he’s not on stage. Men don’t go for him unless they’re celebrity worshippers. Slade does what he always does when he needs a little extra help. He turns to his identical twin Cade. Nothing good can come of Cade pretending to be Slade to gauge Lance’s interest, especially since Lance is a detective. Maybe this crazy plan will blow up in everyone’s faces. That’s a risk Slade is willing to take for a shot at love.

I enjoyed this story with Slade who is working too hard but is desperate for affection and cuddles from someone who loves him and Lance who also just wants someone to cuddle and kiss. They actually had a lot of passion between them it just started in a slower way. I loved the way that Lance tried to include Cade who was just as lonely which was made worse as he then disappointed people when they realised he wasn't Slade. A nice HEA that will make you smile. This book was easy, to read, feel and understand and is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Hazardous by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Hazardous (Kings of the East #13)

Hazardous by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wulf's friend married Beau's brother and that is all they have in common. But Wulf finds himself on Beau's couch and then he starts watching him. There are no calls or text messages and Wulf thinks they are in a relationship but neither has talked about it. Wulf works for a crime family and Beau has met most of them, he needs to figure this out. He’s never been good with words. Beau finds little presents from Wulf on his porch but he’s terrified to ask if they’re a couple because he has a bad feeling Wulf is a criminal. Ignorance is bliss, except Beau thinks he might also be in love with Wulf, and there’s a good chance Wulf is extremely hazardous to his health. Everything about them is a mess.

I enjoyed this story with their non-relationship that was a real relationship until there was a point where everything came to a head. There was so much drama and it was all heartbreaking after a major error was made that it was all quite hopeless for a while. I was therefore thrilled when they worked out everything. I was surprised that Zander also made an error. This was easy to read and understand. This book was full of feelings. This is an MM story with mature content. There is mention of historic child abuse and grooming.

Review: Ending in You by Sammi Cee 3 of 5 stars

Ending in You (In You #3)

Ending in You by Sammi Cee
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Gerald is a gentle giant and so was in the wrong family as he never wanted anything to do with their criminal enterprise and certainly not their drugs. So he reconnected with his chosen brother and escaped so that he can finally breathe. When he met Duncan who is the man of his dreams his crazy family ends up on his doorstep. However, things are not what they seem and Gerald's found family (including Duncan) don’t have any intention of letting their newest member go without a fight. All demons are laid to rest in the last of the series as the last man gets his happily ever after with the help of his found family and his forever love.

I enjoyed this story with the intrigue, drama and mystery surrounding his cousin. It was so nice to have the previous couples involved in this one so that it was truly an end-of-series HEA for everyone. Easy to read, feel and understand this was a pleasant read. This is a MM story with mature content and mention of drugs and violence.

Specialist (Kings of the East #12)

Specialist by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dante had been rescued as one of Zander#s missions to save trafficked children and after vowing to dedicate his life to the cause he now works for him making problems and messes disappear. He also wanted to stay close to the doctor who helped him but he recently married and so shows his affection by protecting him from the man stalking his new husband. Marshall wouldn't say he was stalking anyone he just idolises the life he doesn't think he will ever have. He has been focused on being a father and now his daughter has grown he is middle-aged and alone. When the twenty-something troublemaker appears in Marshall's life. Dante irritates him in an unexpected way. Marshall doesn’t know why he can’t shake him. All he knows is it can’t be love.

This story was a fun read with the mad Dante who was slightly unhinged but determined to have Marshall and not willing to take no for an answer. I loved the way that over time their relationship grew and that everything was fine as they appeared to be determined to care for each other. That became very literal with the event of 'the flu when caring became far more physical. This was easy to read, feel and understand as the story developed and their relationship deepened. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Tyrant by Gianni Holmes 5 of 5 stars

Tyrant (Ruthless Daddies 2, #5)

Tyrant by Gianni Holmes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yaro is the head of the Russian mob and is known as a Tyrant. After all, he killed his cheating wife and her lover (who was my best friend) and then buried them in the same grave. Then the rumour is that I stole their love child who was my little boy for the first two years of his life while I thought he was his. They also say he locked him up on an estate on his own and he went mad talking to imaginary friends. In actual fact, Yaro paid for a couple to care for him and educate him until he had to go there and find him. He prefers to be called Daisy and he is beautiful. The other rumour is that he sleeps in Yaro's bed with him in place of his late wife. Not everything is true.

I loved this story which started so very dark with the betrayal, the sending of little Chase away and the conditions he lived with. Yaro was famous for his poor temper and yet he did try hard to be what Daisy needed and eventually Daisy did learn to become the person who could not only calm him down but also to call him out on his foolishness. I loved their relationship and the way it was so passionate and fiery while Yaro did his best to give Daisy everything that he needed. This was easy to read, feel their thoughts and emotions and empathise with the characters (mostly Daisy but also Yaro who became quite human). This is a MM story with mature content and some violence.

Beautifully Explosive (Candied Crush #11)

Beautifully Explosive by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A year ago Mathews's celebrity crush actor Kit Youngblood walked into his life. Matthew would kill to have a night with him, but Kit is not that easy to catch. Kit doesn't want anyone because he came from a nightmarish background and so is surviving as well as he can right now. Matthew is the only person who has made Kit consider taking a chance on a relationship he just needs a little push. Two men with a boatload of issues and secrets will face off in a battle of the hearts. Only time will tell which of their pasts will break them first. Or just maybe they’re exactly what the other needs.

I really loved this story as it had a huge focus on emotions, thoughts and how you coped with it going forward. Then there was the focus on mental health and how you straighten yourself out when you are having a crisis. I was proud of both of these men for the things they had endured in their childhood and the way that they coped with it. I was thrilled when they were able to get married and then when they had sorted out all the major problems. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and mention of historic child abuse and mental health crises.

Charmer (Kings of the East Book #11)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Corey is a doctor and a member of Zander Kapra's team plus he is a survivor of the cause. He helps by putting his medical degree to good use going wherever he is needed to keep the family safe which means he has to patch up assassins and helping to dispose of evidence. But most of the time he is helping the victims after their rescue. He'll never stop helping them. Then Rhett arrives and he won't stop trying to win him and apart from thinking he is full of it, he has no idea what to do. For Rhett, meeting Corey was the most random moment of his life. One second he was chatting to a friend, the next he was staring into the sweetest face he had ever seen. Corey tries to make him go away. Rhett can’t do that. He’s hooked. Now all he has to do is convince Corey to keep him. How hard could it be?

I enjoyed this story of the way their relationship started and then the way that Rhett accepted that there would be injured children in need of help and that he was prepared to do whatever it took to help them. They actually were the perfect combination of healing from Corey and nurturing care from Rhett. Easy to read, feel and understand, this is a MM story with mature content.

Beautifully Exposed by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zep has been working towards having a husband and kids and is not willing to settle for anything less. Frost is beautiful but lies and so Zep can't see him having the life that Zep wants. Frost is a former hockey player and now owns a gym. He has been known to mislead men occasionally to keep things impersonal but had his reasons, but he never messes with anyone he could hurt. He never expected to meet someone like Zep. When Frost's secrets are exposed Zepsees Frost in a whole new light. They want each other but are not on the same page. Can they figure out a way to meet in the middle?

I liked this story which was a lot about emotions and life plans and how they can sometimes go completely wrong. I loved their relationship and the fact that to start with there were secrets that could have destroyed everything between them but their love was strong enough to get past it and make plans for a future together as a family. Butcher (Kings of the East #10)

Butcher by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Timofey was raised to kill people and has no conscience with only his own version of a moral code. After rescuing his brother's new ward - preacher's son Jordan - Timofey finds himself drawn to him and determined to keep on protecting him but then he became an obsession. He wants something pure and nothing will stop him from getting it. Jordan should stay far, far away from Timofey but he can't. He knows exactly what Timofey is capable of doing as he witnessed it firsthand but when he is with Jordan he is kind and gentle. Unfortunately, falling in love with a killer isn’t the easy road and he’ll have to fight if he hopes to hang on to someone who could disappear without a trace—like a ghost.

I loved this story and the contrast between Timofey and Jordan who had the similarity of their damaged past but we from vastly different backgrounds. It was great to see that Jordan could sense Timofey watching him and knew when he had visited in his sleep. There was passion in their relationship and I loved that Timofey was prepared to support Jordan to study and reach his full potential. Easy to read, feel and understand. Struck (Kings of the East #9)

Struck by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Ben met Fedir he thought he was just a bodyguard to an old, retired shipping mogul and so he enjoyed pushing his buttons hoping to catch his eye. When he has, Fedir is so much more than Ben first thought and might be more than he can handle. Fedir feels no shame for the wrongs he has done over the tests as he believes strongly in taking care of his family even if his own is a crime family. Then he meets Ben who makes him want to be better but there might not be a middle ground to that.

I enjoyed this story and the difference between the two men which was easier to resolve than it might have initially appeared. I loved the way that they took to and fully accepted Jordan to the point that he was fully given the level of protection as any other member of the family. I think they made a sweet couple and the fact that Ben knew exactly who he could depend upon in a crisis was a clear statement of the belief he has in Fedir. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and some violence.

Assassin Fox was hired to kill Cristiano Fiore and he thought it would be a simple job to get in, take the shot and then get out. However, then there was an explosion and he actually rescued Fox Post the explosion Cristiano took care of Fox while dominating him and eventually giving him the best sex of his life. Using the word Daddy for Cristiano made Fox feel so safe and made it hard for him to go back to his old life. Can he dare to dream of a place where he belongs? For Cristiano mafia life is full of danger but the failed assassination attempt and then the explosion appear to be overkill. So they have to work together to try and find out who wants to take them both out and as time goes on the more he wants to actually become a proper Daddy to Fox and take care of him. However, can he really trust someone who tried to kill him?

I really enjoyed this story with the mysteries of who sent the assassin to kill Cristiano, who set the explosives to kill them both, who Fox works for and what is the likely succession in the mafia family. I enjoyed the banter between the two men and the way that eventually they started to cooperate and work out the players in the events that occurred. Beast (Ruthless Daddies 2, #6)

Beast by K.L. Hiers by Mozzarus Scout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Noel Bradley needs a better-paid job as he has several debts around his neck after he confronted his boyfriend's infidelity and that single night of poor decision-making cost him his education and his future. So having to wear tight spandex briefs and getting groped a little nightly is worth it for a job that pays very well. Then he draws the attention of the club's owner - the Beast.

I enjoyed this story with the infidelity, Noel's mistakes and then his introduction to the club. His relationship with the Beast revealed that he really wasn't as scary as he thought and that his canine friends are not as scary as he first thought. I liked the way that their relationship grew even though it might have appeared not to be as sweet as it really was. I also liked the way that Noel was so passionate about protecting those he loved whether they were human or animal. Easy to read, feel and understand. The mystery element of this story will definitely keep your attention. This is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.

Specter (The D #8)

Specter by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this novelette, it is the story of Noah wanting a Daddy for Christmas and how he gets one with the help of Silas D. It has been a year since he ran away from Montana after his life changed forever. Not yet ready to move on from the loss of the love of his life, he has no choice as he needs to have someone to take care of him and the world doesn't fit him. He also needs cuddles before grief kills him. Duke lost Noah once and it is not happening again. So his fancy invitation to a Christmas gathering in New Orleans with Noah as a lure is all he needs. Will he find the same Little he lost, or has Noah forgotten him forever?

I really enjoyed this short story that pulled together two lost souls making the most of the Christmas spirit. Silas and Benji definitely pulled a blinder in this story which was full of all the feels. This was a really emotional story that had a very happy ending. Easy to read, feel and understand you will need tissues for this one. This is an MM story with mature content.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Special Agent Deon Swift is a fast-rising agent in the FBI and he has been assigned to bring down one of the leading weapons dealers in the country. In doing that he met the dealer's personal attorney sexy Jaksa Simic. Logic tells him Jaksa is the enemy but the man has burrowed beneath his skin. Jaksa owned everything to his employer and there is nothing he won't do to keep his boss safe (if necessary by taking out a nosy FBI agent). But being near Deon is not business as usual. Jaksa has never hated someone so much or loved them so vehemently. It’s a position that might end up costing them everything, especially each other.

I really enjoyed this story with the two men who struggled for domination and then they were unable to live without each other. I loved that Deon made the decision and implemented it so that Jaksa needn't be alone anymore and that they could be together forever. I loved Deon's Mum who was such a lovely lady as was his friendship with Vic. Easy to read, feel and understand you will pick up a lot of emotions at times. Troublemaker (The D #7)

Troublemaker by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Twenty-year-old Rocco grew up in a criminal family and has seen more of life than most people his age. He is used to living above the law and on his terms and so it grates to want a judge more than twice his age but he just can't stop. The honourable Judge Byron Chester is under his skin and he needs to be removed. Byron's reputation is squeaky clean even though he has been a regular guest at Silas D's exclusive parties for years but he keeps that side of himself as far away from the public eye as possible. Meeting Rocco wasn't part of his plan but he can't get him out of his head. He fears he won't stop until Rocco ruins him although he fears it is already too late. With secrets and public images standing in their way, can Rocco and Byron find any common ground? Or will Rocco’s shady life be the end of the line for them literally?

I enjoyed this story of the raw passion between them that they could not resist no matter the effect on their careers. I also enjoyed the fact that an incident meant that they both had to realise their feelings and that they clearly needed each other. This story was full of drama and danger but also love and passion. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content. There is some violence in this story.
