Archer clawed his way to the top of a crime organisation by being cold, cruel and calculating while not letting anyone close to him. The only person he considers a friend is his longtime guard but still he doesn't let him forget who is in charge. He can't be seen as weak which is why Angel drives him insane as he shouldn't care if he won't be tied down by him and yet Archer won't stop chasing him. Angel is driven crazy by his inability to say no to Archer even though he has almost lost his best friends. Angel knows Archer is cruel and so he has to run he just never expects the way almost losing Archer permanently will wreck him to his core.
I loved this story about the enigmatic leader of the crime organisation and the facts and motivations around him. There were a lot of surprises in this story and it was great to get such a more detailed picture of Archer and his motivations. This was quite emotional at times so don't be surprised if you need some tissues. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content.
