My rating: 4 of 5 stars
After running with the wrong crowd when he was younger Nathaniel thinks that working hard is all he deserves and so lies low keeping his head down. Chuck has crushed on Nathaniel for years but only seems to have a friendship with him, but while eating together Chuck unloads and reveals far more about himself and Nathaniel has to decide if he should run or admit that the sweet man he adores is worth fighting for.
I enjoyed this story where Nathaniel finally saw Chuck as someone who was there and worth fighting for as more than a friend. Chuck was an adorable man who you just wanted to hug and give cuddles to whereas Nathaniel was not the impersonal automaton he appeared but actually just needed to give himself permission to pursue something more than friendship with someone. Easy to read, feel and understand this was a book about connections and being clever in how you use those connections. This was an MM story with mature content.
