Mav Jones has a secret - he is desperately in love with his best friend Beau whose husband Dakota is one of his ex-lovers (they are in a Daddy/boy relationship too). When Mav is invited to visit he fears that his desire won't stay locked down. Then a cute shy virgin called Ry walks in capturing all of their attention. When all four end up in bed it leaves Mav feeling torn as wanting anyone but his best friend feels wrong but he can't deny how perfectly they all are together. Mav's life is in another city and when his dream career is possible he will have to talk away from these men for good. Can Mav open his heart without losing everything?
I enjoyed this story which was all about love, being honest about events and feelings as well as compromise. I loved Ry who was so strong and proud while also being careful with his status of trans. I can't comment on the accuracy of this as I have no personal knowledge. I found Beau a little strange as his dropping French into English felt slightly the wrong way around. I found Mav's decisions in the city to be a bit glossed over. The fact that Dakota had lied to his husband for so long was too glossed over to me. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMMM story with mature content and BDSM-like DDLB dynamics.
** I feel there should be a trigger for the sexualised way the Trans character was treated.
