Review: Chase by Raleigh Ruebins 5 of 5 stars

Chase

Chase by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chase and Logan’s bond starts on a rooftop in a moment of crisis, pulling them into an intense, boundary‑blurring connection. Chase is hurting and impulsive, and Logan — chaotic, touch‑hungry, and newly fascinated — can’t stay away. What begins as curiosity quickly becomes possessive and addictive, leaving them tangled in emotion neither expected.

I loved the intensity of this story and the way Chase and Logan were drawn to each other with an almost obsessive pull. Chase especially stood out to me with his tough past, his mental‑health struggles, and the raw vulnerability beneath all that impulsiveness made him incredibly compelling. I also appreciated how the book didn’t shy away from showing the dark side of social media, and how one careless comment or post can spiral into real‑world consequences. Logan was harder for me to love. Some of his choices felt confusing, and the way he struggled to say certain things made parts of their relationship feel uneven. But the sheer amount of emotion and feeling running through the story kept me hooked. It’s messy, intense, and deeply human and that’s exactly what drew me in. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Single Dad by Raleigh Ruebins 3 of 5 stars

The Single Dad

The Single Dad by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cam is a newly single dad trying to stick to strict rules about no dating, but he breaks them the moment he meets Luke — a sensitive, tattooed military vet who starts helping him rebuild both his house and his life. While Cam chats online with someone who feels like home — someone he hopes might be Luke — both men carry heavy baggage and promise nothing serious… even as their connection grows anyway.

This was a very sweet, low‑angst story, and the gentle tone made it easy to read — though I did find that, over time, the pacing slipped into something a bit tedious and repetitive. Cam’s caution around involving his kids was thoughtful and responsible, but it stretched on longer than needed, especially since the children were bright enough to understand their own feelings. I loved the contrast between Cam’s softness and Luke’s quiet steadiness, and their connection had a warm, comforting feel. The ending, while happy, felt a little disjointed, not quite the solid HEA I expected, but still satisfying in its own gentle way. A sweet story with heart, family, and plenty of feelings — even if it doesn’t fully stick the landing. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fake It for Christmas by Raleigh Ruebins 3 of 5 stars

Fake It for Christmas

Fake It for Christmas by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Shane's only good at two things: sports and holiday spirit. But this Christmas feels different, even though he should have everything he wants. His family’s bugging him again about why he's still single, and he's getting desperate. Rowen’s nothing like him. He’s smart, accomplished, and back in Tennessee from the city, not by choice. Even though he’s straight, he agrees to be Shane's fake boyfriend for his family’s Christmas party.

This was a sweet Christmas story but I did struggle with the farce around whether to tell people about the fake relationship or admit their feelings for each other. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Wedding Bet by Raleigh Ruebins 3 of 5 stars

Wedding Bet

Wedding Bet by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jamie made a bet: that he'd be Landry's perfect fake boyfriend for this wedding.
Now he desperately doesn't want to lose. Jamie acts like he has it together. But he frys eggs for a living and can barely pay rent. He's a hopeless romantic but still chronically alone. “Lucky” Landry Lucock is the definition of having it together. Wealthy, handsome, and completely out of Jamie's league. Guys like him don’t want someone like Jamie. But now he’s calling him boyfriend, even though we’re anything but. Jamie made a bet with Landry that he could be his fake boyfriend for this wedding week and put on a killer show for his awful ex. Now they're sharing everything, and he keeps ending up in his bed. He's telling himself this will never be more than pretend. But there's kissing even when no one’s around. But something fake is so damn addictive.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were pretending until they weren't. I struggled with their relationship which was very impersonal and strained for much of the story. I enjoyed this last part of the story when it felt more real and there was some romance. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Home Game by Raleigh Ruebins 4 of 5 stars

Home Game

Home Game by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Storm Rosling is cocky. Charming. A bad boy football player who can’t keep his name out of headlines and scandals. In Emmett's life, he’s one big red flag. He's working with Fixer Brothers Construction to take their home renovation TV show to the stratosphere. He's all business, and damn good at it. But Storm Rosling is a marketing nightmare and the new star of the Fixer Brothers’ show. Every moment of his home renovation will be caught on film for the TV show, and from day one, Storm knows how to get under his skin. He hates Emmett's fancy suits and expensive cars and Emmett hates that he could ruin his career with one spicy social media post. But he's craving him, too. Millions of football fans watch him every week, and now he's addicted, too, in real life and on the screen. Storm said he was straight. But a challenge turns into a dare and the next thing he knows, he’s on top of him. The fire between them burns hotter than ever, and he won’t deny pure attraction.

I loved this story which was full of passion and showed that the line between love and hate was extremely close. I loved their relationship and that they supported each other. This was full of emotions and feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: For the Cameras by Raleigh Ruebins 4 of 5 stars

For the Cameras

For the Cameras by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Adam has been a socially awkward introvert for his whole life. Not a soul knows that he uploads anonymous videos to an adult site. By day, he's a shy office worker, and at night, he has his hand, his phone camera, and a little secret. Chase is his polar opposite. He’s a camera guy who’s in Adam's house every day, filming for the Fixer Brothers Construction TV show as they renovate his home. Chase is confident. Flirty. A colourful social butterfly, charming the pants off of everyone he meets. When he finds out Adam's secret, he's mortified. They start filming together but Chase doesn't do commitment and Adam is falling for him. How will this end when the cameras stop rolling?

I loved this story with the two men who had a great connection which transferred to great sexual chemistry. I loved that Chase was able to see why he didn't do commitment and understand the differences between him and Adam. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Bear's Best Friend

Bear's Best Friend by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sawyer Hendricks’s a ray of sunshine. Harlan's a loner lumberjack. They don’t make sense. But his straight best friend keeps ending up in his bed.

I loved this story of the two best friends who became much more when Sawyer had a series of revelations that meant that he was not as straight as he thought as he was sexually attracted to his best friend. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Christmas with My Best Friend's Dad by Raleigh Ruebins 3 of 5 stars

Christmas with My Best Friend's Dad

Christmas with My Best Friend's Dad by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This Christmas, Casey only had two goals: to get his kitchen renovated and to find a hot older guy to keep him warm at night. He never thought he'd find both in the small town of Jade River, where people take the holiday season very seriously (and always with beer or mulled wine). He ended up in the arms of exactly the man he wanted, and we shared a scorching night under his Christmas tree that he'll never forget. Then reality hit. His son is Casey's best friend, and what we did should have been forbidden. Now their lives are more intertwined than either of them ever bargained for. But on these cold winter nights, he's starting to think he's addicted to him.

This was an ok novella but I did think that some aspects of the story moved a bit fast and that needed more analysis, for example, Rome's son's easy acceptance of the relationship between Casey and Rome. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Frat Bro by Raleigh Ruebins 4 of 5 stars

Frat Bro

Frat Bro by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

One minute Charlie was a nobody in a small Colorado town, getting by on contract work, home renovations, and a dumpster fire of a dating life and then suddenly, his life was on TV. Fixer Brothers Construction is getting its own home renovation TV show, and he's on camera, giving the film crew an all-access pass to his life. The kicker: fans think he's sleeping with Jax, his favourite, hotter-than-hell frat boy bartender at the brewery. He’s young, straight, and just a friend. But rumours spread like wildfire. Now he's faking it with Jax, 24/7 and we don’t leave much to the imagination when we’re in front of a camera. The fans want what they want, right? And Charlie wants things, too. Every kiss was fake until the one that definitely wasn’t, on a night too scorching for TV. Jax has helped him through the worst time in his life as a friend, and he never let himself wish for more. But he's only human, and when they're together, it’s fire. He's addicted. And he knows he's going to get hurt. But behind closed doors, it feels so real. And he's desperate to know what makes this frat boy tick.

I loved this story of Charlie and Jax as they had great chemistry in the previous books in this series so I was looking forward to their story. Their relationship was fun and I enjoyed the rapport between them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Straight Dad by Raleigh Ruebins 4 of 5 stars

Straight Dad

Straight Dad by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Straight dads don’t get crushes on 22-year-old star quarterbacks. Right? Kace Tomlin is the nation’s hottest, youngest pro quarterback at age 22, and he’s out and proud. When Kace hired Nathan's little construction company to work on his multi-million dollar mansion, it was the quickest hell his of my life. Usually Nathan is in Dad Mode, 24/7 - boring, predictable, and dependable. But being plunged into a young hotshot football player’s world is anything but predictable. Nathan can’t stop watching him. Craving him. And after one blazing hot night, they can’t keep our hands off each other. He hates that he gets his wires all crossed, and makes me feel like he's nowhere close to straight. But Kace has a TV crew filming every moment of his private life. We’re on the show now, for all of Kace’s fans to see, keeping our smoldering secret hidden. Is this all just another game? Or will he be reckless with me, for the whole world to see?

This was a sweet story as Nathan discovered that he was not as straight as he thought he was. However, I did find it as a bit rushed and that more could have been made of Nathan's discovery. It was easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Flip Job by Raleigh Ruebins 4 of 5 stars

Flip Job

Flip Job by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

His house needs a flip job and his best friend’s brother has all the right equipment. He'd swore that he'd never be back in this little mountain town where he grew up. But Dad left him his old fixer-upper house and a brewery full of employees who seem to hate him, and both are in need of some elbow grease and charm. Lucky him: his best friend co-owns a construction company, Fixer Brothers Construction Co, ready to hire for renovations. Luckier him: his formerly scrawny little brother Shawn has grown into a tall, built, knuckle-bitingly hot construction worker. He looks damn good in flannel and better with it off. He wants him in his bed, and he's good at getting what he wants. Turns out all those years of construction work have done him good, body and soul. He’s the whole package. Shawn’s sweet, sensitive, and has been through hell. For a heartbreaker like him, he should be off-limits. And his brother knows way too much about his bad habits from the past: get in, get out, never commit. But he's flipping his whole world, and he doesn't know if he wants him to stop.

I loved this story of the attraction between the two men which was forbidden but worked on so many levels. Shawn's brother's reaction was suitably extreme and I'm looking forward to finding out more about Nathan in the next book. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Straight Friend by Raleigh Ruebins 3 of 5 stars

The Straight Friend

The Straight Friend by Raleigh Ruebins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ryder and Nate were best friends and whereas gay Nate stayed home as a high school teacher Ryder went into the military and was deployed overseas all of the time. Ryder is now back and Nate has always secretly been in love with Ryder but as he is straight he never told him. Ryder is now back home and is searching for somewhere to belong. When he tells Nate that he is curious about experimenting with men in bed Nate almost chokes on his beer. Could Nate's straight best friend actually be the one?

This was a sweet story of a best friend who loved his friend but knew he couldn't take it further getting the chance to make both their dreams come true. I was thrilled for Nate and it was quite sensitively told even though it is a well-written trope. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content in this MM story.
