Review: Fire and Hail by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars

Fire and Hail

Fire and Hail by Andrew Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brock’s tense run‑in with his ex, Vincent, turns shocking when he finds two frightened children in the trunk — Vincent’s niece and nephew. With their mother arrested, Brock steps in to care for Abey and Penny, and he and Vincent put their past aside for the kids’ sake. As they work together, their bond deepens and the four begin to feel like a family, even as Vincent’s sister and her boyfriend threaten everything they’re building.

I loved how this story showed Brock as a cop with a genuinely big heart — his shock at finding Vincent’s niece and nephew was powerful and set the emotional tone for everything that followed. Abey was absolutely adorable, and as the truth about the siblings came out, I just wanted to hug him over and over. Their presence didn’t just pull Brock and Vincent together; they helped the two men steady themselves too, creating a bond that felt natural and deeply moving. This was a very emotional read, with feelings that were easy to understand and connect with from start to finish. Brock and Vincent’s connection was undeniable and powerful, making the journey with all four of them incredibly satisfying. This was an MM story with mature content.
