Review: Pretender by Charity Parkerson 5 of 5 stars

Pretender (Kings of the East #3)

Pretender by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alessandro is currently serving his second mafia boss Xiv which is far more enjoyable than when he served his father Vlad which meant he did things that he hated. Ender is loyal to the Kapra and so Alessandro needs to keep an eye on him especially as he is a liar. When a young assassin meets a seasoned killer, sparks fly. But it’s only a matter of time before everything explodes around them. It’s possible no one will be left standing at the end.

I loved this story with the description of the kind of horror that Ender went through and trying to understand the dynamics between him and his family. I loved the passion and the fire between Alessandro and Ender which started as just something physical but it really didn't stay that way for long. I was shocked at the events on Ender's birthday and what he did which I guess is understandable given the situation he had been in and the level of passion within him. Reading this it was just sizzling with the passion between the two men. Easy to read, feel and understand (just wear over gloves due to the passion level). This is an MM story with mature content.

Beautifully Moved (Candied Crush #5)

Beautifully Moved by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Xavier is well known for his name, face and body because he hosts a popular cooking show the buff. Outside he is flawless but inside he is jaded and spoiled - no one has ever told him no. Dean isn't like anyone else - he ignores Xavier unless he makes him look at him which intrigues him except Dean just keeps running away from him. Dean does a normal job, looks like a normal person and mostly gets shot down. He is not interested in being rejected by a guy who is way out of his league. Then they spend one magical night together and then Dean runs. So Xavier has to be the one to do the chasing and losing is not an option.

I enjoyed this story with the beautiful man who doesn't like wearing clothes and the ordinary man who doesn't feel he will win the battle for Xavier. There was lots of thoughts and emotion in this story and it was interesting to analyse why a spoilt beautiful man could be so lonely and that Dean might feel outclassed but he was exactly what Xavier needed. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Nothing by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Nothing (Kings of the East #2)

Nothing by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mink grew up loving Xiv even though he had spent his whole life as a plaything. They were very close and then Xiv's father died and he had to take over as the head of the Alexeyev family and then nothing was the same as the closeness they once shared was gone. Mink was purely property which he thought he could handle until Xiv allowed Mink to be purposely kidnapped by a contract killer. Mink then decided that he was done. Nothing matters more to Xiv that his puppy Mink who he has kept on a short lead even though he thought he would stay through anything. Then when Xiv went too far Mink left and he thought he could let him go, but he can't and so he sets out to bring him home, even if he has to burn down the world to do it.

I loved this story with the unusual start to their life together as children followed by when Xiv went too far and blew it. I loved Mink and just how hurt he felt after his kidnap and his plans to escape. I was amazed that Xiv thought he could handle Mink leaving and so was thrilled when he set out to find him. There were a lot of emotions, betrayal, hurt feelings and happiness. It was easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content with some BSDM-like mild puppy play.

Review: Beautifully Stolen by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Beautifully Stolen (Candied Crush #4)

Beautifully Stolen by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Roman is beautiful, flirtatious and incapable of being loyal to anyone but himself. Normally Brett would find a way to make money from Roman's natural ability to charm anyone but he won't because he gets Brett under his skin. Roman wants Brett from the first time he saw him and has pulled out every weapon in his arsenal to try to win him with no effect. When Brett invites Roman as his date for a wedding although he has no idea why. Little does Roman know, Brett needs him way more than he could have dreamed, and they’ll both be less if he can’t win.

I enjoyed this story with the two complex men who need each other if only they both realised why. Brett was the sticking point and it was only after he needed Roman and realised what really made him tick that he finally got him and why. This was fairly emotional at times. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content.

Mistaken (Kings of the East #1)

Mistaken by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Matija's boss sent him to take out a competitor's brother but instead, he found Dallashe found a cute boy who offered him snacks and milk. So he took him and cared for him in an underground bunker. He can't let Dallas go as he might lead the police to him and so he is going to have to keep him because with time running out he either kills him or keeps on feeling things.

I really enjoyed this story of Mati and his mouse. It was interesting to see someone who behaved very much like a little and the tough hitman who became human and affectionate with him. I liked the way that even when the chips were down Mati was able to play the game and get his mouse back from the bad guys so that they could have the future that they so deserved. This was an easy read with a little about emotions but nothing like I expected with such a dark subject. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Beautifully Wrecked by Charity Parkerson 3 of 5 stars

Beautifully Wrecked (Candied Crush #3)

Beautifully Wrecked by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Johnny sees himself as straight but Wrecker thinks he is wrong. When Johnny moved to LA to start his singing career he never expected to work security for one instead. It can't be seen as that bad as it meant he met his best friend Wrecker. Wrecker has always wanted Johnny and is bad at hiding his interest with lots of flirting, little touches and holding eye contact too long. Johnny lets it continue and Wrecker thinks he knows why. When an emergency sends Johnny back home Wrecker accompanies him and Johnny's family gets the wrong idea. Wrecker now needs to make a decision as Nohnny is likely to run when things get too hot.

I enjoyed this story with the examination of the pressure around Johnny to deny that he was attracted to boys and how that affected him in his adult life. I was really pleased that Wrecker was able to make him see what he was, that there was nothing shameful about it and that he could be loved as he was. Lots of emotions and family dynamics in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content.

Guardian (The D #3)

Guardian by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kage's husband died four years ago and he has been focused on earning money to save to buy an RV and travel the country to find himself again. However, Silas has a different plan for him. A year ago Tommy's ex-lover slit Tommy's throat and left him for dead and without Silas he has no idea where he would have ended up afterwards. However, the attack left him unable to speak above the quietest whisper and he is a skittish mess. He is trying to live again but life is so hard. Then he met Kage. When a natural-born guardian meets a broken angel, sparks will fly. But will their pasts break them again before they have time to heal?

I really enjoyed this story with the physically and mentally damaged Tommy and Kage who was determined to protect him while also not forgetting that he was a person and a man with typical urges. This story was full of emotions and feelings and the consequences of them. I enjoyed the exploration of those and how to move forward. Easy to read, feel and understand. This an MM story with mature content and some reference to a historic D/s relationship.

Review: Heat Lightning by M.M. Farmer 3 of 5 stars

Heat Lightning (Bangers & Mash Book 8)

Heat Lightning by M.M. Farmer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this last book in the series, Arlo helped save Evan Mercer from scandal but is unable to get a marketing job anywhere in the area. He also can't forget the handsome Banders & Mash scientist and alpha Holden. Holden has been trying to find a solution to heat for lone Omegas and has called it Heat Lightning. He needs to test it on an Omega and so when Arlo volunteers he takes the chance before his project is defunded. The sizzling attraction between the two men and the test will either prove that it works or it will destroy Holden's career completely.

This was a fun story although I felt that the story of the omega and bea could and the elderly alpha and omega couple were far more interesting than what happened to Holden and Arlo. I understood that Arlo's father was a horrible man but felt that the point was laboured a bit. I loved Holden's papa who was such a nice man. I was quite sad that the series had ended and hope that the characters make the occasional appearance in any related book by the same author. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and was set in the omegaverse.

Review: Beautifully Angelic by Charity Parkerson 5 of 5 stars

Beautifully Angelic (Candied Crush #2)

Beautifully Angelic by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Declan has always been secretly in love with Ezra but as Declan works for Ezra's older brother (and he once saved him from a horrible life) he is not free to pursue it. However, he watches and dreams about him and even on occasion stalks him. Loving Declan killed Ezra's heart years ago and Ezra just can't stay away even though every time just when it seems that they are getting close again Declan shoves him away and sleeps with other people. Ezra just can't take the pain any longer and his last attempt just pushed him too far. He's done with Declan and maybe with everything too. When Ezra’s health starts backsliding, Declan must choose. He can stay loyal to the friend who rescued him or save the man he loves. Either way, Declan looks destined to lose someone. Unless love wins the day, that is.

I loved this story which was full of love, hurt, emotions and exploration of those emotions. It was clear to see that their behaviour was going to destroy at least one if not both of them unless Declan realised this was his last chance and that Ezra needed him totally if he was going to be saved. I also enjoyed the involvement of mental health in this story and that medication and counselling were both part of the solution. Easy to read, feel and understand you will definitely feel their emotions and have some tears when reading this book. This was an MM story with mature content and mention of eating disorders and mental health.

Review: Inevitable by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Inevitable (The D #1)

Inevitable by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this short story introduction to the series Griffin works at Assets a high-end members-only strip club. It's easy work for him as he is naturally flirtatious and is good at making money without entanglements. However, his boss Andrew had been engaged to Griffin's brother which ended on terrible terms but Griffin watches Andrew waiting for him to notice as he wants him for himself. Andrew is bitter as he was cheated on and left at the altar and so he feels that he has to get even as seeing Griffin every night is keeping the anger fresh. One night’s horrible decision leads to something darker than an obsession. It’s mania. It’s inevitable.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were tortured for different reasons coming together into something quite explosive when they gave in to their attraction. The events at the end with the horrible decision were definitely interesting and definitely set the scene for the series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Poisonous (The D #2)

Poisonous by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Abel has been 6 months out of rehab and is learning how to live. Some days he is driven crazy just wandering the halls of Silas's huge house by the river which is brightened up by clandestine visits from his secret benefactor during which he feels alive until he leaves and he is alone again. Jasper is a successful boxer and is used to getting what he wants and feels a kinship with Abel as he sees the same fire in his eyes. However, Jasper is a poison which will come out eventually. Between the benefactor who saved him and the sexy boxer who won’t leave his head, Abel can’t find steady ground. There’s something about both men he can’t resist. If only they were the same man…

I enjoyed this story with the two different men presented to Abel to choose from - it's just a shame that he is still not far from rehab and maybe this was a decision too far. I really felt for Abel when the identity of his benefactor was revealed and can see exactly why he reacted the way that he did. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and referenced addiction.

Review: Anonymous Alpha by M.M. Farmer 4 of 5 stars

Anonymous Alpha (Bangers & Mash #7)

Anonymous Alpha by M.M. Farmer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Omega Evan was a pop star who had a young image thanks to his record label and manager but wanted to move to a more mature sound. But he had to get through a heat first and so had called on a Bangers & Mash ESA for help. However, someone leaked a doctored video of him with the ESA who took him through the most amazing heat which created a little problem for him. Will the so-called anonymous alpha help him or turn away? Alpha Sable was used to helping high-profile clients but nothing prepared him for the media storm after the tape containing him and Evan was released let alone the rumours that Evan leaked it himself. But after a panicked phone call from Evan Sable is clear - he will do whatever it takes to protect his omega because Evan is his now and he will defend him while they work out who released the tape and has been trying to keep his career.

I loved this story with the determined alpha and the omega he took through heat and was not only bonded to but they share a common problem between them. I loved their relationship and that they had the help of one of Evan's biggest fans to thank for finding them a solution and proof. This was easy to read, feel and understand especially the betrayal and violation of the tape and press coverage. This is an MM story with mature content set in the Omegavarse including mpreg.

Beautifully Toxic (Candied Crush, #1)

Beautifully Toxic by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Famous drummer Jessie Thunder discovers an eighteen-year-old homeless boy on his property and because he is too old to be in the system he decides to help him as he can't stand the thought of anyone going hungry. Theo doesn't trust Jessie's help he doesn't have anywhere else to go. At first, Jessie's attention feels great but then he realises that Jessie's beauty is only a mask as inside he is poison and he needs to get out before he is worse off than he was when he was on the streets. With Theo gone and no one to save him, Jessie has to make a choice. He can either rescue himself or drown in the toxic waste his life has become. Only one of those roads leads back to Theo.

I enjoyed this story with Jessie trying to keep everyone around him safe and happy even though he was so damaged himself. I loved the way that Theo loved Jessie but could see that he could no longer stay there and watch him destroy himself. The dynamics between the other characters in the story were interesting too especially around Ezra Jessie's brother. Easy to read, feel and understand you will feel quite emotional when Theo leaves Jessie after leaving everything new behind. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Daddy Bear by B.J. Smyth 2 of 5 stars

Daddy Bear (Daddy Bear, #1)

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Carter is young, insecure and gets easily jealous. He just wants someone to love and care for him. Frank is older, is a bit confused by his feelings for his ex, is dealing with his mother's deteriorating health and is looking for a new start and not a new relationship. After a chance meeting at the pool, their attraction is undeniable. Can they build a relationship with the complications of a toxic flatmate and manipulative ex-partner, neither of whom wants them to succeed?

This was a very short story which is spread over a number of books to tell the whole story. There wasn't any detail of the backgrounds or relationships in either of their lives, just descriptions of their attraction and encounters in the showers at the swimming pool and after a date. This is an MM story with mature content.

Caramel Drizzle (Little Cakes, #14)

Caramel Drizzle by Pepper North by Paige Michaels
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Remodeller Jordi Cross lands the job of sorting out a strip mall beauty shop. Callen James owns a hardware shop that has everything that a contractor would need. When one gorgeous and knowledgeable woman wipes out his supply of mini light bulbs and orders lots of paint he volunteers to drive it to her site to deliver it. As he gets to know Jordi more it becomes clear that she is his little girl and that she is in desperate need of some TLC from her loving Daddy.

This was a sweet story about a fiercely independent woman who began to realise that she needed to have support and love in her private life in order to be totally successful in her working life. I loved that she had no idea that real Daddies existed and that there were many littles and their Daddies in her local area. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MF story with a BSDM-like DDLG relationship.

Sugar Guards (Sugar Daddies #16)

Sugar Guards by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Legend has been alone since cancer took his mother away from him and so has been relying on his looks and ability to charm anyone to work as an escort for a living. Each time he meets someone he is truly interested they are already in love with someone else. Pytor and Yaro have been together for as far as they can remember and are no exception as they are married. They have never considered sharing their lives with someone else until they meet Legend who is beautiful and sweet with an old soul who needs a place to rest. Pytor and Yaro want to give him the home he desperately needs but he is hard to convince than they could ever have expected. After a botched attempt at making things work, the longtime couple will have to prove they aren’t like everyone else Legend has met in the past. That’s a tall order, considering Legend has every intention of completely disappearing from their lives.

I loved this story with the committed couple who both want Legend and just need to find a way to not only get him but to keep him. There was a lot of soul-searching and attempts to explain past histories in this book. It was good to understand more about the three men. I was thrilled at the solution that was presented to Legend a the end and that he took the correct choice in his "competition". Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content. I felt disappointed that this was the last in the series but was pleased to be directed to another one at the end.

Little Boy Mine (Little Big Heart Book 2)

Little Boy Mine by Wendy Rathbone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mylo (known as My to his friends) has had life events that mean that he reverts to a child-like space all of the time, something that he realises is known as Little space. Now he just needs to find himself a Daddy. Landau is a Daddy and has had his heart shattered more than once, has played with men at the weekend and been used by others who just want somewhere to stay and have money spent on them, so he is not currently looking for anyone. Landau wants to be needed. That’s all there is to it. He’s given up on finding a compatible partner until one day he meets Mylo—and his whole world changes.

I enjoyed this book with the shy Little who had not worked out what he was until his best friend helped him work it out and the Daddy who was tired of not finding the one and had therefore become jaded. I loved the care that Landau took with Mylo and that he was always mindful of his experience, thoughts and feelings. This was a heartwarming story of how two men met and fell in love. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content in a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with onesies, diapers and stuffies.

Adrik is too young for Leo and used to be his guardian but Leo loves the twenty-year-old who has come so far in his recovery, but is it far enough? Leo is prepared to give him the time he needs even if it hurts him. Neither Adrik nor Leo are looking anywhere else but at each other. Hopefully, they can figure that out before they ruin everything.

I loved this story about an abused and damaged man who fell in love with his rescuer/protector and just needs to finish sorting himself out before he can try to have a future with him. I loved Adrikand found Leo quite annoying with this sense of honour and determination to let Adrik make his own choices even if they would hurt him. I wanted to shake Leo at times. The data from the flash drive was interesting and the conclusion. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Alpha Versus Omega by M.M. Farmer 3 of 5 stars

Alpha Versus Omega (Bangers & Mash #6)

Alpha Versus Omega by M.M. Farmer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Academic omega Cooper Plant has been fighting up the academic world for the last ten years and is bidding for tenure in the Engineering department of Barrington University. Everything seems to be resting on the result of the battle robot competition. In the first round, he is pitted against his rival alpha Raymond Jessup. Then Cooper goes into heat earlier than normal and he has to send for an ESA from Bangers & Mash but the one they send is the man he has just beaten in the first round - Ray. Alpha Ray dreams of owning the electronics shop he works at but in order to afford that he needs to win the competition. Having lost he decides to take what money he can and so takes the emergency ESA call in the same hotel.

I enjoyed this story with the smack talk, the bully Alpha and the way that over time Cooper and Ray changed their opinion of each other. I loved the way that they were able to work together to combine the best of each other as well as the involvement of Ray's manager who was a lovely old man. I'm sure the author had to do a great deal of research to write this book although I have to admit I wouldn't know if what has been written was right or wrong. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse.

To live more openly as a gay man Whiskey goes to a local club as after being in the area for fifteen years he never interacted much with the community. He doesn't fit in there as it is full of twinks who look far too young but then Justice swoops in and everything changes. Justice needs Whiskey to stop asking his current line of questioning but he knows that Whiskey cannot be bought. It’s a recipe guaranteed to blow up in everyone’s face, and they might not survive the fallout.

I enjoyed this story which was full of passion mixed with drama and betrayal. There were times when I was excited for them and times that I felt their frustration when everything was coming out and Whiskey was under pressure from his job. Justice was very lucky that Whiskey loved him enough to forgive him as I thought there was a real risk of ruining everything between them. Easy to read, feel and understand. Declan (The K9 Files Book 21)

Declan by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Declan is sent to do a wellness check on a war dog in the care of a woman who trains therapy dogs but when he gets there he finds her in the aftermath of an attack the mystery is was it because of war dog Shelby or for something else. Carly has had enough heartache in her lifetime after the unsolved murder of her parents a few years ago and then an attack on an old friend suffers another one as he tries to explain something about her parents' case to her. Declan thinks that the attacks on her are connected to her parent's murder and is determined to get to the bottom of everything.

I enjoyed this story with the dramatic introduction Declan had to Carly and the attacks that happened. It was also great to see how people underestimated Declan because of his prosthetic and that was an unfortunate mistake which gave him an edge. This was a historic murder mystery all wrapped into a current mystery which could easily end up in murder but that was all connected in the most surprising way. I think the reader and Declan will know what is happening before Carly does. Easy to read, feel and understand you might find yourself getting annoyed at Carly and how slow it was for her to work it out. Contains a little mature content at the end.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

As Zac acts more interesting than usual Hunter has to make the choice to see what his sexy husband is up to and then make a choice - does he commit to what Zac wants? Two loving men. One big question about what really matters when you’re in love.

I enjoyed this story with the discussion before adding new aspects to their relationship and the way that they described how they felt about what they were doing. I loved the way that Hunter was all in and determined to support and give his husband what he needed which then gave him unexpected pleasure. Easy to read, feel and understand I was swept away in their relationship and exploration of age play. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dr Miles Sheppard has been working so hard that he does not have a personal life. Now he has crossed the finish line he is lost as working out what he wants to do now he has his doctorate is far harder. Sean has been watching the sexy doctor for months but when he dozes off in the middle of a crowded bar it might be time to actually step in and talk to him. It is going to take more than a sweet temperament and an understanding smile to accept the unconventional relationship that Sean is looking for. When an exhausted doctor meets a bartender who’s more than meets the eye, they’re set for a match made in heaven…as long as heaven includes binkies and bedtime stories.

I really enjoyed this story with the exhausted doctor who was already a little curious and the understanding Daddy who just wanted to care for him. I loved the way that gently over time he was introduced to being a little and losing stress by doing things like colouring, watching cartoons, being given a bath and being read to. Throughout it all Sean was informative, fair and when it was needed strict too. Easy to read, feel and understand I was swept away into the story and their relationship. Brutal by Morticia Knight
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Devante is a hitman working for the powerful Zakarian family and Micah is an academic specialising in ancient artefacts. The pair will have to travel the world looking for a missing artefact said to originate from Atlantis. Micah is perfect boy material and is still a virgin while Devante is trying to resist him and is just rude, pushy and snarly. The hunt intensifies and danger surrounds them at every turn. No one can be trusted. Ultimately, will Devante kill Micah, or protect and keep him? Either way, he loses. If Devante doesn’t complete his mission he’ll be the next target.

I enjoyed this story with the grumpy hitman who has been assigned bodyguard duty (which feels like childminding sometimes) and the confused academic who is very observant but has no idea how to behave sometimes. I loved the push and pull between them and the way that Devante was already behaving as Micah's Daddy before he had realised that was what he wanted. Lots of danger and drama as they faced multiple betrayals. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Sugar Sentry (Sugar Daddies #13)

Sugar Sentry by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

One year ago Easton's life came crashing down after a vicious attack left him deeply scarred inside and out. From the ashes of his life, he has rebuilt himself into someone new and has found a better version of happiness in a new business as his own bakery has been a lifesaver for him. After watching over Easton from a distance Nico has decided it is time to take a more hands-on approach because Easton is getting better but he is not really living and instead is just working. So he decides to lure Easton out of his fear-encased shell because he loves Easton, Easton doesn’t think he deserves love, and Nico is carrying around one hell of a secret that could ruin everything.

I loved this story with detail as to what happened to Easton and then what happens next. The secret was a big one but not one that was insurmountable. I admit sometimes events appeared to move far too fast, but I actually think the time had passed just that it wasn't all that clear from the writing that it had. I also enjoyed the meeting with Easton's ex who was just completely undeserving of Easton and his time. This was an emotional read at times and therefore you might need a tissue but it was all part of it being easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and descriptions of some violence.

Master Toby

Master Toby by M.A. Innes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Noah loves his husband Tobias but Valentine's Day is not his favourite holiday and this year he is not sure that Tobias is going to see how perfect his surprise will be this year. Tobias has always known when his gentle giant of a husband is hiding something but this year Noah is a nervous wreck which surely means it is something more interesting than a bouquet of roses. Valentine’s Day is supposed to be about flowers and cards, not puppy play and sexy secrets, but sometimes perfection involves looking a little outside the box.

I enjoyed this novella with Noah finding a great way for Tobias to relax and stop working so hard and being so stressed. Even with the solution he came up with it did flip the roles around as the handler was not the dominant one. I loved the reference to the Leashes & Lace series by Shaw Montgomery. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like D/s relationship with puppy play.

Review: Daddy Loves Confidence by M.A. Innes 4 of 5 stars

Daddy Loves Confidence

Daddy Loves Confidence by M.A. Innes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Arthur was fixed up by the owners of the Bound & Controlled club and his first date is an email. Joseph knows that his terrible work schedule makes meeting people difficult and that makes meeting Daddies even harder but after months of exchanging emails with Arthur who is a sweet Dom with a dry sense of humour who appears to be the Daddy of his dreams who is funny and supports his passion for cereal and comfort food. Surely any man who mails cereal has to be worth keeping?

I really enjoyed this novella with the overworked Joseph and the caring and gentle Arthur and how their relationship started online via email but that meant that when they did meet for real they already had a solid relationship to build upon. They were just so sweet together and I loved the way that they story ended. This was easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

** Please note - Daddy Loves Confidence was originally included in the Dirty Daddies Anniversary Anthology in 2022, and no material changes have been made to the story.

Sugar Alpha (Sugar Daddies)

Sugar Alpha by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It had been a few years since Flynn's husband had died and as he is good at being Don he works at the Den of Payne in a non-sexual way. Then he meets Jake. Jake hates his life and everything about it. He is doing a job he hates and it all fits around the expectation of his family. Jake can't see a way out and feels like he is suffocating but Flynn bulldozes into his life and is controlling, dominant and loving too. It is everything that Jake needed. Flynn’s refusal to allow Jake to disobey might just be the thing that finally sets Jake free. It’s possible becoming Jake’s daddy is what Flynn’s been preparing for his whole life too.

I enjoyed this story with two men damaged for very different reasons that came together and were actually a salve for each other's souls. I loved that Jake finally got the courage to do what he wanted and that Flynn enabled it. The men had a great relationship and the love they shared shone through. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.

Lessons (Ruthless Daddies 2, #4)

Lessons by Ashlynn Mills
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Benicio's wife died and their son Miles had Leukaemia while drowning in his grief he tried to do the best for his son. After trying many teachers he kidnaps his former school teacher Mathias where everything changes in the house. Benicio is less lonely, the house feels less empty and he feels like the missing piece in his life. Mathias fights him and tries to run away every chance he gets but in between the "I hate you" and threats he wants to be Benicia's good boy. Benicio doubts they'll be able to continue as they are without consequences but Mathias's smiles and the way he calls him Daddy makes Benicio want to do whatever it takes to keep him where he is.

I enjoyed this story it just felt a bit superficial at times as there was analysis around the thoughts and feelings of the characters. I also found it strange that Benicio was able to switch from being with a woman to a man with all the preparation immediately as I would assume he would need a little internet education. It was a pleasant story with a perceptive Miles who was quite happy to let them know that he know what was going on between them both. Mathias coped with the death and destruction fairly well for a school teacher. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

Sugar Port (Sugar Daddies #11)

Sugar Port by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kato lost his eyesight two years ago and nothing has been the same but meeting Brad is soothing to his soul. He now feels like a burden to the only friend he has left and that doesn't help his happiness. Brad caught his ex cheating on him and so a seven-year relationship went down the drain. Now feeling better he sees a sexy younger man who catches his eye but Brad is determined to keep his heart out of the equation. Can two jaded men find common ground and which one is going o have to take a chance on love first to take them to the next level?

I really enjoyed this story with Kato who on the outside appeared to be coping so well with his loss of sight but was actually not coping that well at all and David who was still bitter after betrayal after a relationship that seemed to be heading for forever. I loved the caring way that David replicated the layout of things for Kato so that he could be independent in his house and that he was always trying to give Kato great times and memories. Easy to read, feel and understand you will be addicted to these two men and their relationship. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Sugar Enemy by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Sugar Enemy (Sugar Daddies #10)

Sugar Enemy by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ever sing David had brought Coy home looking black and blue and in dire need of protection Law had felt far more than he feels he should (but he can't help it). Coy is dramatic as much as he is beautiful and so very angry. Law feels he is too old for the way Coy is, but he can't stop. Coy feels from the moment he started working for Law nothing he does is good enough and he is always lacking however, Law looks at him like no man ever has before and makes him feel so safe. So Coy burns for Law's touch. As crazy as Coy might make Law, Coy is his. No one touches Coy. Looks at Coy. Steals Coy from him. Unless he doesn’t step up his game, that is.

I loved this story with the push and pull constantly between Coy and Law. I actually felt desperately sad for Coy for much of this book as all Law did was criticise him although it then became clear that he was actually trying to distance himself from Coy. I loved the passion that they shared even if it was manifesting itself in criticism. The ending to the story showed just how special Coy was and that when he loved someone he really did do that deeply and totally. Easy to read, feel and understand you will feel quite teary at times especially when Coy describes what happened with his psycho ex. This is an MM story with mature content. There is mention of historic domestic abuse and rape.

Sugar Obsession (Sugar Daddies #9)

Sugar Obsession by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tyrone and David agreed to attend their friends John and Jonah's wedding together. Tyrone is a busy vet and has little room in his life for a man but is surprised at just how drawn he is to David especially as even with the difference in ages and social status they have a lot in common. David has not been an overly emotional person and has been single more years than he can count but just one kiss from Tyrone and nothing else matters. David needs all the messy emotions and entanglements he’s avoided. He wants them with Tyrone and he won’t stop until he wins. Unless Tyrone ends up dead first.

This was a sweet story of how a romance started between Tyrone and David and how no matter the distractions, drama and danger David will not be deterred from being with the man he loves. I enjoyed the involvement of all the known and unknown characters from this series to bring these two men together or to keep them safe. The danger to Tyrone was typical of him defending someone innocent and I was just glad that it all worked out alright. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was a MM story with mature content and descriptions of the result of domestic abuse.

Conflicted

Conflicted by Ashlynn Mills
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Andres has done a deal with Samantha who to save her father's reputation needs a husband in a marriage of convenience and in return he gets money. Then he meets his intended father-in-law and he worries it is over before it begins as his stupidity and loneliness might have cost him everything. Zacharias is a well-known drug lord in Texas and usually when he sees something he wants he takes it, but he wants his daughter's fiancé who is beautiful and the perfect submissive.

This was a slow-to-start story which soon developed into a story full of drama, danger, twists and turns as the two men central to this story meet and realise that they may have met before. They seem to be into taking risks but Andres seems to be unable to resist his Daddy and as the danger ratchets up and the plots get darker they both have to be involved in increasing levels of danger. This was easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic. There are some descriptions of murder and mutilation.

Sugar Protector (Sugar Daddies #8)

Sugar Protector by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Three years ago Jonah joined a sugar daddy website because at the time he didn't care who took care of him as long as it was someone. He didn't expect that the very first contract that he signed would be the only one he ever signed. John Green had money and loved spending it. Becoming someone's sugar daddy doesn't embarrass him at the least and he has paid bills for more than one younger lover in the past. Jonah is the first one who ever wanted him for himself and not the money. John and Jonah have been a love match from day one. Fate will have to shake things up to get these stubborn men to admit to feeling a single thing.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who seemed to hide behind the contract and material things to the exclusion of real tangible emotions. John's solution to this was the worst thing he could ever do and it became part of the shake-up that would finally get them to admit exactly how they felt and what they really wanted to do and become to each other going forward. This was a very emotional read and so you definitely need tissues in order to read it. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and contains the death of a beloved pet if it is a trigger for you.

Review: Omega on the Run by M.M. Farmer 4 of 5 stars

Omega on the Run (Bangers & Mash #5)

Omega on the Run by M.M. Farmer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Omega Mads is tired of his life being controlled by his overbearing father who is the RV King of Barrington after he had a less-than-stellar experience at college. However, as soon as he met Alpha Benny who was the ESA hired by his father for him he liked him and hoped he was his ticket out of there. Benny hadn't been an ESA for years but had done it this time as a favour for a friend because he needs the money to sort out the run-down ski lodge that he has inherited. Being stuck with Mads who is in heat and determined not to return home is no hardship as they start to believe in a future (if they can keep Mads's father away).

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were fated mates although it took a while for them both to realise it considering that they had to get Mads through his heat. Mads's father was a caring man who just lost his way protecting him after the shock of his mistakes at college. I loved the enthusiasm for design that Mads had and that applied to everything from an RV to a ski lodge. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content that is set in the Omegaverse.

Sugar Heart (Sugar Daddies)

Sugar Heart by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cortland and Driver seem perfect for each other but they are a one-night stand gone wrong just waiting to happen. Cortland first met Driver when he was homeless but he was still drawn to his strength although he does have scary possessiveness. Driver has wanted Cortland from day one but he is older, richer and out of his league so when he is offered a no-strings one-night stand he jumps at the chance. After Cortland disappears the next morning, Driver will have to fight like he never has if he hopes to woo the man back. It’ll take every skill he possesses. But a love like theirs is worth risking everything.

I loved their story with the two damaged men who initially thought that they didn't deserve each other before Driver made a silly decision that he then needed to change before it was too late. I loved their relationship and how they needed to both have faith in themselves and each other to have the future that they both desperately needed. Easy to read, feel and understand you will be a little teary at times. This is an MM story with mature content.

Bear in Boots (Bearytales in the Wood #7)

Bear in Boots by Sue Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Brad is the only brother without a boy of his own and that makes him feel completely out of place. That means he is lonely and so continues to find solace in his barn blowing things up and writing poetry - he even has a publishing contract although he has no idea what to do about it. Then a shy young man turns up at Christmas Tree farm from his publisher to illustrate the poems. The man can't remember who he is even though he and Brad have met before (and so can the rest of the family). Eric knows he is just there until the book is complete but Brad wants him to stay in his arms forever. Then danger comes to the farm.

I enjoyed this last book in the series where Eric could understand the poems even though the others didn't and Brad finally got his boy. I liked the drama from their visitor and that it helped to solidify the decisions that both men made. I felt for Eric with his memory loss and everything that he had lost although this job gave him a far greater prize. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.

Sugar Bastard (Sugar Daddies #6)

Sugar Bastard by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Keegan had always wanted to meet his favourite group the Slight Bastards but when the lead singer Omen rushed into his life and he was the centre of his attention it was like a dream. Loving Omen was easy until Omen made him hate him. As soon as Omen saw Keegan he was caught even though before him he hadn't dated men. Falling in love with Keegan was easy but staying in love with him was hard until Keegan's love turned to hate. Omen doesn’t know how to fix the damage he’s done. Luckily, his friends have a plan. Now all it will take is everything if Omen hopes to win back his heart, but is it too late?

I enjoyed this story with the angst between the two men as they loved but had problems with being open and getting the acceptance of both them and their relationship. I completely empathised with Keegan when he felt as if Omegn was ashamed of him and that he was just a dirty secret followed by seeing him kiss another man. The journey back to being together was emotional and at times difficult for both them and me as the reader. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

I Wished For You

I Wished For You by Colette Davison
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Three friends and three wishes under shooting stars - Seb wants to be happy, Matt wants to find "the one" and Connor just wants them. Seb didn't mean to kiss them both but he doesn't regret it even if it has changed their friendship forever. Matt never considered dating a man before let alone two at the same time but even with some confusion he knows that being with Seb and Connor feels right. Connor potential fate has stopped him from living and loving but can he face his fears to be with the men he loves?

This was a nice story with plenty of firsts between the three men with Seb at the centre providing all of the help and education the others need. I loved the way that it struck the three of them that it really was right between them and that they were all in. There were definitely a few tear-jerking moments in this story so have a few tissues to hand. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content.

The Marriage Merger: Engagement Edition (Marriage Mayhem, #5)

The Marriage Merger: Engagement Edition by Aja Foxx
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Parker Lane and Syros have an engagement which is like a merger as when they are married Syros will take over from Parker's father as the CEO of the family firm. However, Parker's father has been lying to Syros all along and it is only when Parker calls off the engagement and disappears that with the help of Parker's friend Buffy that Syros starts to work out how misled he has been and how badly he has treated Parker. Can they have the happy ending that they deserve?

I enjoyed this story with the evil father, the abused Parker and the man who would come to realise everything and earn back his trust. I did have a couple of problems with the book as there was no closure on what happened to Parker's father (just a list of charges) and I felt that Syros really didn't deserve to be loved given the way he had behaved before. Given that I did enjoy the story and the help and involvement of Miles, Kyue and Lucas from the previous books in the series. I also loved the way that Parker was so himself when he was dancing. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and descriptions of off-book abuse of both a child and an adult.

The Marriage Betrothal: Engagement Edition by Aja Foxx

Kyue Panich found out he was engaged to business tycoon Lucas Kincaid who was a surprise as he had never agreed to it. Apparently, it was due to an old family agreement but Kyue was determined that it would not change his life he just hoped that his fiancé could get used to it. Lucas had known about the arrangement for years and so had no idea what the problem was in the entire arrangement. Wedding plans had started so he decided to show Kyue that his temper tantrums wouldn't get far with him.

I loved this story with the head-to-head between Kyue and Lucas and the guessing game about who would win the battle of wills between them. My guess had always been Kyue although I think in the end they both won as they had a prize in each other. I loved the surprise around his identity revealed at the end, explaining one of his requirements. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Mob boss Romeo is back in Sicily to see Dino who came on to him four years ago. Then he seems to be hiding until once again he surprises Romeo again by the pool. Can Romeo become Dino's Daddy and what is going to become the Riccardis who are determined to have revenge on the family?

This was as usual a chaotic book full of Dino chasing Romeo, Daddies and their boys and some guest appearances by some friends from across the water. I liked the way that Dino used technology to record things and that this book referenced several current events and limitations. It was easy to read and understand with some slight amusement at times (although I found it a bit chaotic at times). This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Meant To Be: A Prequel Daddy Novella by Sammi Cee 4 of 5 stars

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Joel and PJ met as pre-teens at Takoda Outreach Center. They’ve shared every secret, first as best friends, then roommates. But now that they’ve graduated from college, adulting presents circumstances and unforeseen problems that they never saw coming. Joel's at a new job, using his degree, and PJ's working at The Tap Tavern as a waiter, frustrated by the choices he's made. What happens when two men who thought they knew everything there was to know about each other find out that some truths were too hard to share? Why is PJ so shocked that his confident, sexy best friend would do anything to make him happy?

I loved this story with the great relationship between them, the way that PJ was trying to cope with his tortured past as a child and that Joel would do anything to be with the man he loves. Their love was so pure that it almost transcended everything else. The support that they received from their friends and family was very touching too. You will need tissues to read this book. Easy to read and understand, you will feel all their pain, love and hopes for the future. This is an MM story with mature content in a BSDM-like DDLB relationship and historical descriptions of child abuse.

Alpha Morgan is a wealthy businessman but the omegas he attracts only want a sugar daddy and so don't stick around. He used the Perfect Match Agency before but his first match ended before it could start. Now he has applied for a second match and when they find one he is cautious not to be fooled again. Omega Riley has lived his whole life in isolation in a cult community that believes he is a demon because he has a severe allergy to sunlight. Having been rejected and therefore never forced to go to church he shares none of their beliefs. He is still under the guardianship of his parents he is about to go into his first heat. Church law demands that he is untouched and has a husband before that happens. Riley rejected the two horrid prospects from within the community and so his parents sign him up to the Perfect Match Agency so he has a marriage even if is outside the community. But what Riley really needs, more than marriage, is to be rescued from his bleak and toxic environment. And Morgan, when he meets Riley, maybe just the alpha to do it.

I really enjoyed this story with poor Riley who is a prisoner and isolated to live his life alone (although at least he is given the internet and the ability to shop online). I loved Morgan and how hopeful he was to meet Riley even though he found the limitations very hard to accept. He wasn't phased by Riley's illness and it was great to see all the changes he made in order to protect him. Easy to read, feel and understand it was impossible to not have empathy for Riley and his treatment in his own home as he was growing up. They hadn't spoken to each other for the past three years and so he was surprised to get a phone call from him saying he was getting married and wanted him to be there. Against his gut feeling, he flies there but then realised it was a mistake as he finds himself married to a man who thinks he is his brother. After a wedding night he will never forget he realises he might not know his husband at all.

I enjoyed this book with the switch, the discovery and the great relationship that existed between the two men who were working together to protect each other. A Daddy In Cameron (Love On Tap: Pain & Healing Book 2)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cameron the General Manager of The Tap Tavern is protective of all of his employees especially anyone who has come via the Takoda Career Center. Indie has lived with the consequences of betrayal and against the odds he has survived. Everyone sees Cameron as a great guy who is protective but Indie knows him from a long time ago and he wasn't there when his father tossed him aside. Cameron can't make up for something that he wasn't aware of and is tired of caring for others for them to no longer need him. But Indie is different now he is grown up and there is a pull to him. Can Cameron soothe Indie who is hurting badly underneath his defiant front?

I loved this story. Poor Indie had an evil father and he was badly hurt by him when he was thrown out and then isolated from everyone. With the help of his Grandma, he has the chance to have a new start and when he works for Cameron then eventually the truth comes out. It was just heartbreaking to understand what had happened and I challenge anyone to read that and not cray some tears for him. Except Emory is in love with him, Auggie is confusing him and so Casey has to confront his feelings and his sexuality. Three men and one conundrum. How can they all get the guy?

I enjoyed this story with the inexperienced nerd, the asexual jock and the slacker who previously slept around. I loved that Auggie did lots of research and found information to help everyone.
