Review: The Capo's Boy by Aja Foxx 4 of 5 stars

The Capo's Boy (Mafia Mayhem, #1)

The Capo's Boy by Aja Foxx
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nicky never intended to be the secret lover of a mobster but after two years Vinnie's family tries to marry him off to someone else, Nicky refuses to be his side piece and so he finds himself on the run and fearing for his life. He is not sure who to turn to as he is not sure who is threatening his life and he cannot bear the thought that the man who he loves wants him dead. Vinnie and Nicky started off as a one-night stand but that turned into a week, then a month, then two years. Nicky is ingrained into Vinnie's soul and he would do anything for him. When Nicky runs even though Vinnie knows he should let him go he can't as being the capo of the mafia crime family means nothing if Nicky is not by his side. So he needs to move fast, work out who is trying to kill Nicky and bring him home.

This was a dramatic story with a great storyline and lots of twists, turns and underhand dealings as the two men navigated those who would plot against them. I loved that they really loved each other however they just needed to find a way to be able to stay together. Some of the characters seemed to be great fun and I hope we get glimpses of them later in the series. Easy to read and understand, it was easy to feel how the character's feelings were about everything that was happening. This was an MM story with mature content. There are some high-level descriptions of violence.
