Jai Thomas wasn't surprised to find out that his parents had sold him in marriage to pay off his sister's debts, after all, they had taken everything else from him during his life and so why not that? However, Jake D'Amato is unlike anyone he has ever met before as he is sweet, and kind and seems to really care about Jai. When his family then decides that Jai's sister would make Jake a better wife he is not surprised but puts his foot down - it is time for him to fight for what he wants. Jake did not get where he is in life without learning to fight for what he wants and from the moment he discovers the abuse that Jai is suffering from his family he decides that he wants him. His interest is even more acute and determined when Jai makes it clear he is not interested in Jake's money. Can the two men escape the clutches of the Thomas family and get the HEA that they deserve?
I loved this story. My heart broke for Jai and then I just got angry at the way that his so-called family was treating him. These two men were just perfect for each other and I was thrilled when they had a real chance at being happy together AND getting rid of Jai's family (who in my opinion were just evil). It really was quite pleasing to read about their demise into more uncomfortable territory. Easy to read, feel and understand you will at times want to cry and at others want to shout with joy at the bad things happening to the Thomas family. This is an MM story with mature content.
