It had been a few years since Flynn's husband had died and as he is good at being Don he works at the Den of Payne in a non-sexual way. Then he meets Jake. Jake hates his life and everything about it. He is doing a job he hates and it all fits around the expectation of his family. Jake can't see a way out and feels like he is suffocating but Flynn bulldozes into his life and is controlling, dominant and loving too. It is everything that Jake needed. Flynn’s refusal to allow Jake to disobey might just be the thing that finally sets Jake free. It’s possible becoming Jake’s daddy is what Flynn’s been preparing for his whole life too.
I enjoyed this story with two men damaged for very different reasons that came together and were actually a salve for each other's souls. I loved that Jake finally got the courage to do what he wanted and that Flynn enabled it. The men had a great relationship and the love they shared shone through. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.
