Cameron the General Manager of The Tap Tavern is protective of all of his employees especially anyone who has come via the Takoda Career Center. Indie has lived with the consequences of betrayal and against the odds he has survived. Everyone sees Cameron as a great guy who is protective but Indie knows him from a long time ago and he wasn't there when his father tossed him aside. Cameron can't make up for something that he wasn't aware of and is tired of caring for others for them to no longer need him. But Indie is different now he is grown up and there is a pull to him. Can Cameron soothe Indie who is hurting badly underneath his defiant front?
I loved this story. Poor Indie had an evil father and he was badly hurt by him when he was thrown out and then isolated from everyone. With the help of his Grandma, he has the chance to have a new start and when he works for Cameron then eventually the truth comes out. It was just heartbreaking to understand what had happened and I challenge anyone to read that and not cray some tears for him. I loved the way that Cameron just wanted to look after Indie and that they had a chance at the kind of love that lasts forever. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.
