Detroit crossed a line when he fell in love with his best friend's father and it nearly destroyed them both but he is having trouble letting go. Now things are over but he feels he will never be the same. Payne believes in discipline and control and so owns a club where people pay a lot of money to be punished by him but Detroit is the only person who has tested his will. He almost lost his son when they were outed but he can't let go or move past it. Detroit is living and fighting MMA in Vegas, but a moment changes everything.
I enjoyed this dramatic story with the two men who are separated after the fallout in the previous book and how they were suffering apart with dreams and thoughts of each other all the time. It was heartbreaking to have Detroit so tortured that he tried to take a drastic solution instead of talking to a friend but it was also wonderful the way that Micah was immediately there to help and also to make sure that Payne got there too. The new friendship that Detroit made afterwards was a little complicated and sets the scene for the next book. Easy to read, feel and understand it will at times break your heart so expect some tears. This is an MM story with mature content and some references to violence and suicide.
