Review: Beautifully Awkward by Charity Parkerson 4 of 5 stars

Beautifully Awkward (Candied Crush #12)

Beautifully Awkward by Charity Parkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lance is a private detective and has spent his life hiding in the shadows by blending in. Slade is a rock star and so wanted by everyone. Slade is also one of the most clueless and clumsy people on the planet. Lance doesn’t know how to get Slade’s attention when the guy seems totally oblivious to Lance’s desire. The entire situation feels hopeless. Between touring, recording, interviews, and just trying to live, Slade is tired. He hasn’t had a personal life in longer than he can recall. He enjoys spending time with Lance, but he doesn’t think Lance really likes him like that. Slade is kind of nerdy and awkward when he’s not on stage. Men don’t go for him unless they’re celebrity worshippers. Slade does what he always does when he needs a little extra help. He turns to his identical twin Cade. Nothing good can come of Cade pretending to be Slade to gauge Lance’s interest, especially since Lance is a detective. Maybe this crazy plan will blow up in everyone’s faces. That’s a risk Slade is willing to take for a shot at love.

I enjoyed this story with Slade who is working too hard but is desperate for affection and cuddles from someone who loves him and Lance who also just wants someone to cuddle and kiss. They actually had a lot of passion between them it just started in a slower way. I loved the way that Lance tried to include Cade who was just as lonely which was made worse as he then disappointed people when they realised he wasn't Slade. A nice HEA that will make you smile. This book was easy, to read, feel and understand and is an MM story with mature content.
