Review: Twelve Days of Squidmas by K.L. Hiers 3 of 5 stars

Twelve Days of Squidmas

Twelve Days of Squidmas by K.L. Hiers
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Even though his beloved grandmother only recently died Jack Marsh has only twelve days to pull off the perfect Christmas according to his selfish family. Suddenly he has to decorate, bake cookies, wrap presents, and create a delicious holiday feast. Xorvash is an interdimensional tentacle creature from another plane of existence. Jack accidentally calls Xorvash who comes crashing into Jack's life and promises to do the impossible. Jack suspects Xorvash's interest in him goes far beyond merely wanting to help him deck the halls, and he's having trouble resisting Xorvash's unique charms. With some luck and a sprinkle of holiday magic, Jack might get some sweet tentacle romance for Christmas.

This was an interesting concept of a story although I did struggle as to why Jack was doing the whole Christmas thing for his family given their behaviour towards him. I was pleased at the end that the family were sent packing and a satisfying HEA was on the cards. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: O Deadly Night: Volume 2: A Dark MM Charity Anthology by Faith Ryan by Duckie Mack by K.L. Hiers by Davidson King by Elouise R. East 4 of 5 stars

O Deadly Night: Volume 2: A Dark MM Charity Anthology

O Deadly Night: Volume 2: A Dark MM Charity Anthology by Faith Ryan by Duckie Mack by K.L. Hiers by Davidson King by Elouise R. East

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a collection of stories written by some great authors containing dark MM stories that will make you stop and think that sometimes there is darkness even though it is the holidays.

Silent Knight by Davidson King - a great story that I would have loved to be a full-length novel.

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping by Duckie Mack - a great twist on a stalker that although it was dark made me smile.

Stronger Together by Elouise R East: is a fun twist on stalking where Jacob seems to be having lots of trouble in his life but Ward is orchestrating everything. A great new spin on a stalker.

Here Comes Santer Clause by K.L. Hiers - a festive monster story.

All are easy to read, feel and understand. MM stories with mature content.

Review: A Slice for My Demon by K.L. Hiers 4 of 5 stars

A Slice for My Demon (Possessive Love)

A Slice for My Demon by K.L. Hiers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Even though he runs a successful pizza restaurant and a side gig at a local bar Kevin Hamill has never felt like he belongs. He is convinced that there is something wrong with him as he is empty inside and feels trapped in his humdrum routine and yearning for more. Then he meets Percival Pearl who is charming, handsome and claims to be a demon and desperately wants to take Kevin to bed so Kevin accepts his advances as he makes him feel whole for the first time in his life. The truth is more bizarre and it results in a cross-country road trip for an epic quest of self-discovery with the hope he can make it back home alive when unexpected dangers threaten his life and his blossoming romance with his new demon boyfriend.

I enjoyed this story with the many twists and turns around both men as they developed their relationship and explored Kevin's history. The drama with the hunters was great for adding some twists and turns for them both. I have to admit when they were in Vegas I hoped they would pop into a chapel and get married but no. Easy to read, feel and understand. There were a lot of emotions in this story as more information came out and their relationship was strengthened. This is an MM story with mature content and some violence.

Review: Beast by K.L. Hiers by Mozzarus Scout 4 of 5 stars

Beast (Ruthless Daddies 2, #6)

Beast by K.L. Hiers by Mozzarus Scout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Noel Bradley needs a better-paid job as he has several debts around his neck after he confronted his boyfriend's infidelity and that single night of poor decision-making cost him his education and his future. So having to wear tight spandex briefs and getting groped a little nightly is worth it for a job that pays very well. Then he draws the attention of the club's owner - the Beast.

I enjoyed this story with the infidelity, Noel's mistakes and then his introduction to the club. His relationship with the Beast revealed that he really wasn't as scary as he thought and that his canine friends are not as scary as he first thought. I liked the way that their relationship grew even though it might have appeared not to be as sweet as it really was. I also liked the way that Noel was so passionate about protecting those he loved whether they were human or animal. Easy to read, feel and understand. The mystery element of this story will definitely keep your attention. This is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.

Review: Cash by K.L. Hiers 4 of 5 stars

Cash

Cash by K.L. Hiers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Half Korean Cho “Brick” Brixton cooks, does work in his yard, binge-watches TV and is a proud gay man in his home town. Cooking for just himself and living on his own is lonely. Then hunk Jules Price moves next door and is there on business to retrieve something stolen from his criminal family. When he has free time he is set on getting close to Brick and exploring his first-ever attraction to another man. The romance heats up but so does the danger and Brick finds himself in the middle of a bloodbath but Jules will stop at nothing to keep him safe.

I enjoyed this story although I did find the speed of the switch to an attraction to a male by Jules a bit rapid which needed a little more explanation as was the ability of Jules to switch to the Daddy/boy relationship after just a couple of uses of the word Daddy by Brick. Certainly Brick was an excellent cook and I would have enjoyed an invitation to dinner with them. Lots of danger and drama in the story as the mystery of the stolen item as well as the attacks were investigated. Easy to read, feel and understand. This book contains mature MM content including a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.
