Lennox, a lifelong good cop, is shaken when a series of theatrical, message‑laden murders makes him question who the real monsters are. He tells himself he needs more evidence, but one wink from Micah makes him realise he’s already falling.
I loved this story, especially the way Lennox, a man who has always lived by the law, seemed to quietly agree with the killings because the system had so clearly failed the victims. It felt like he was wrestling with his own morality, and I also got the strong sense that his partner knew exactly what was happening and chose to ignore it too. The relationship between Lennox and Micah began like a simple hookup but grew into something far more caring, with Micah looking after the exhausted detective in ways Lennox didn’t expect. Lennox suspected pieces of the truth about their connection, but the reveal still landed with real impact. At the heart of the story is the reminder of why the victims were chosen and the significance behind each action — a thread that adds emotional weight to every chapter. It’s a gripping, emotional read that tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you thinking long after the last page. This was an MM story with mature content.
