Devin arrives in a small town and immediately clashes with Zane, only to end up working with him and discovering a mutual attraction neither expected. Their grumpy/sunshine dynamic, double bi‑awakening, demi‑sexual rep, and forced‑proximity moments, including only one bed, turn a slow burn into something undeniable.
This was an enjoyable, easy‑to‑sink‑into story, especially with how Zane’s unfriendly, prickly attitude toward Devin contrasted so sharply with the warm welcome from Zane’s younger brother, Nova. Watching Devin start work at the family feed store made for plenty of awkward, uncomfortable moments, and the tension between him and Zane was always right there under the surface. Their forced proximity on the remote part of the farm — especially having to stay in the shack and share the same bed — gave them the space to confront the emotions and feelings they’d both been avoiding. The story balances those quieter, tender beats with the rough edges of their dynamic, making it easy to read, feel, and understand throughout. This was an MM story with mature content.
