The tone is light, the pacing smooth, and the whole thing is wonderfully easy to read and understand — a charming little prequel that sets the stage beautifully for what’s to come. I enjoyed this story of the arranged marriage which brought the two men together in an unconventional way. I was glad that they both learnt more about each other and that gave them the time to appreciate the skills and knowledge of the other person. Lots of feelings and emotions in this story as they came to terms with their situation and understand each other. I loved Lucky who was such a feisty old lady. Easy to read, feel and understand. I loved how the truth about June's ex was clear once he was out of that relationship and that both Alec and June's family were so entwined already around the holidays.
