Omega Astra is somewhere where he has no rights - his alternatives are to be auctioned off to the highest bidder or be a prized Jewel Omega. With his best friend in an arranged marriage on their last night of freedom, they attend the night parade. When there Astra meets a demon Alpha who sets his soul on fire. Prince of the Fourth Kingdom of the Demon Realm, Maven is bored, so his friend convinces him to attend a series of parties where alphas can court the omegas looking for a mate. Before the first ball, Maven attends a Christmas celebration where he meets his fated mate. Not wanting to frighten the little omega, Maven uses a spell to appear human. He plans to win Astra’s heart before showing him his demon appearance. But Astra is the most sought-after this season.
This was a sweet, fated mate story set in a paranormal version of the omegaverse. I liked the connected history and the way that their connection did not progress as expected. There were moments of humour around Astra meeting Maven's brothers. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and an Alpha/omega relationship set in the omegaverse.
