Cop Chris is seen as cocky, loud, foul-mouthed and a sarcastic man whore. But underneath all of that, pain from his past has made him shy of any connection with a man past one night of fun. When he meets Lyle Watson he is drawn to the secret and mystery behind his eyes which drives him to distraction wondering what his story is. When he discovers that he is not the only one with a hard story he wonders if he can break through the walls that Lyle surrounds himself. Is it possible to believe in things like love and forever again? Lyle can't get Chris off his mind and not just because he is gorgeous to look at. He is everything he knows he should steer clear of him but he can only push him away so long before he ends up in his arms. He’s the first man in years to make Lyle think of things like relationships and love again. But what happens when the past comes back to haunt him?
I loved this story of the two men who were drawn to each other and managed to get past their painful history to start a relationship together with lots of fun and happiness. I found the resurgence of Lyle's past to be shocking and I was so pleased that they had enough evidence to get past it and get the HEA they deserved. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
