Sterling has a port wine birthmark on over half of his face and in the little Texas town he grew up in he has always been known as ugly. With no confidence and few prospects he is working in a bar then a tall, gorgeous man walks in. Barrett talks to him as if he is the most beautiful person he has ever seen and says he wants to take him away from the bar and everything he has ever known. Can he believe him or will he cast him aside when he has got over the novelty of being with such an ugly man? Calling him Daddy makes it all seem possible but would anyone want an ugly person like Sterling forever?
This was a sweet story with Sterling who had a hard life made so much worse by his birthmark. I loved all the descriptions of the area he lived in and the situation he was living in. I loved Sterling and just wanted to hug him so he felt loved and appreciated at times. I loved his determination not to live off Barrett's money and to have his own income. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an instalove story which was MM and contained mature content.
