Review: His First Family by Victoria Sue 3 of 5 stars

His First Family (His First, #2)

His First Family by Victoria Sue
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Lorne Austen was mated to an alpha with a standard contract at a young age and so on the very day his alpha’s youngest children were fifteen he was told to pack his bags and leave the only real home he had ever known. Heartbroken and stranded in a snowstorm he takes shelter. Alpha Doctor Jonathan Owens has personal reasons for never wanting to mate with an omega, but all his good intentions are tested to the limit when he meets Lorne. After spending the night together he is devastated to find Lorne has vanished without a trace the next morning. Lorne discovers he is pregnant but the law says unmated omegas cannot keep the babies they give birth to. Realising something is badly wrong with the pregnancy he goes to the clinic and comes face to face with Jonathan again. All Lorne has wanted is a family he won’t lose. Jonathan has spent years making sure he never needed one. Faced with the real danger that the babies won’t even survive long enough to be born, can these two find love and the strength they need in each other or will their differences always pull them apart?

I enjoyed this story with more of a look at how society worked (which was very unfair to omegas) and that good alphas were out there trying to change things. I loved the children from Lorne's original alpha and their proposals to protect Lorne. Some of this book highlighted the importance of communication. Easy to read, feel and understand. his was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with mpreg,
