Review: Insanity by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars

Insanity (Psychic Visions #24)

Insanity by Dale Mayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dr. Cresswell Simmons is a dream worker and works in a psychiatric hospital to find those she can help. Six months ago she barely survived a traumatic experience with a patient and is now about to return to work when she is asked to step back into the same case because an eight-year-old boy's life is at stake. FBI Agent Gray Burnett worked on the original case and watched the devastation that hurt Cressy When asked to help her retrieve the information that they needed he agreed to protect her and the little boy and not to follow his orders. Her return to work was not good as there were undercurrents, jealousy and admin disputes in the hospital and even the members of the Board of Directors were involved and under investigation. Cressy is used to the world not understanding her work but needs Gray to open up and see what is happening around them if they are to survive.

I really enjoyed this story with all the layers within the psychiatric hospital and trying to work out who was orchestrating which part of the puzzle and who could it be. I liked the strange relationship between Cressy and Gray and the way she had to be the one to work and he was her protector using every tool he had in the non-psychic world to protect her. The emotions of the characters were clearly explained and easy to understand. A little mature content at the end.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
