Review: Daddy's Precious Pets by Layla Dorine 3 of 5 stars

Daddy's Precious Pets

Daddy's Precious Pets by Layla Dorine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Murry and Raleigh come from very different backgrounds, but foster care brought them together and turned them into the only family they truly trust. Now they’ve spent seven years dancing side by side at a strip club and exploring a part of themselves that lets them escape. When designer Dorian approaches them after a steamy performance and asks them to model his pet‑play clothing line — with the tempting bonus of drinking from Daddy Dorian — they jump at the chance, hoping it might lead to something more than just pretend.

This was such a tender, emotionally rich story, and what stood out most to me was the deep care and connection between all three men. Murry and Raleigh have spent years relying only on each other, so seeing them finally receive the love, stability, and affirmation they’ve always needed from a Daddy who embraces every side of them was incredibly moving. The dynamic between the three is full of warmth, trust, and gentle devotion, and the way their relationship grows feels both intimate and healing. I loved watching Murry and Raleigh open up to someone who truly sees them, and the emotional bonds between them all were so easy to feel and understand through the writing. A sweet, heartfelt story about found family, acceptance, and the kind of love that lets you finally breathe. This was an MMM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic with pet play and male lactation.

Review: Leo in Lace by Layla Dorine 3 of 5 stars

Leo in Lace: Double-Booked for the Holidays Series

Leo in Lace: Double-Booked for the Holidays Series by Layla Dorine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Leo escapes to a quiet cabin after a chaotic year, only to discover it’s already occupied — by two snow leopard shifters, Maverick and Briar. Maverick is exhausted by failed attempts to find a mate and constant pressure from his family, while Briar, his best friend and would‑be partner, has planned a peaceful holiday getaway for the two of them. But when their cabin is accidentally double‑booked with a human, the three men are thrown together in an unexpected holiday mix‑up. Double‑Booked for the Holidays is part of a multi‑author mpreg series where single shifters avoid family scrutiny by escaping to winter retreats… only to find their cabins shared with unsuspecting humans.

This is a sweet, quick read with a definite instalove vibe, but it left me wishing for a bit more depth. The connection between the characters sparks fast and brightly, yet the story moves so quickly that their emotions and inner worlds don’t get the space they deserve. It’s charming and cosy for what it is — a brief holiday escape — but the feelings come on so suddenly that I found myself wanting more detail, more build‑up, and more time with the characters to really feel their bond. This was an MMM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: A Daddy for Christmas 3: Nova by Layla Dorine 2 of 5 stars

A Daddy for Christmas 3: Nova

A Daddy for Christmas 3: Nova by Layla Dorine
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Nova’s supposed to be on a relaxing vacation, but his workplace can’t seem to function without him — his phone is buzzing nonstop before he even reaches his destination. Resigned to managing crises from afar, he tries to make the best of his time off, though his new co‑worker’s incompetence isn’t helping. Meanwhile, Robbie has built a peaceful, sun‑soaked life in Maui, spending his days surfing, teaching, and filming tutorials. When he notices Nova watching him from the beach, he introduces himself — only to learn Nova already knows him from his old days as a televised surf competitor. Intrigued by Nova’s quiet intensity and love of sunsets, Robbie decides to make it his mission to help the overworked man rediscover joy. With only three weeks before Nova returns to his stressful life, Robbie sets out to show him how to slow down, breathe, and let the island work its magic.

I went into this book expecting a Daddy‑leaning dynamic, but what I got instead felt much closer to a standard contemporary romance. The story itself is sweet enough — the setting is lovely, the characters are likable, and the pacing is easy to follow — but the “Daddy” reference is so loose and underdeveloped that it barely registered in the narrative - maybe Nova being a middle damaged the story in some way. If you’re looking for a true Daddy/little dynamic with emotional depth or clear power‑exchange elements, this one may leave you wanting more. It reads like a perfectly ordinary vacation romance with a light sprinkle of kink terminology rather than an intentional exploration of that relationship style. A pleasant story overall, but not what I was hoping for based on the premise. This was an MM story with a little mature content.

Review: A Little Christmas! 4: Song by Layla Dorine 3 of 5 stars

A Little Christmas! 4: Song

A Little Christmas! 4: Song by Layla Dorine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Song, a playful and affectionate drummer in a heavy metal band, is new to the little community and longs for love and belonging. When he meets Zachy — along with Zachy’s Daddy Gage and Papa Cooper — he finally finds his first true friend within the group. As the holiday season unfolds, the bonds between them deepen, raising the question of whether friendship might blossom into something more. With Christmas magic in the air, Song’s search for connection could lead to love, family, and the sense of home he’s always desired.

I loved this story about finding love and family in unexpected places, where friendship and holiday magic intertwine to create new beginnings. I liked that it started with kindness and friendship which then led to love. In this story, holiday magic becomes the catalyst for change, turning loneliness into connection and hope into reality. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMMM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Finding Jeremy by Layla Dorine 2 of 5 stars

Finding Jeremy

Finding Jeremy by Layla Dorine
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Jeremy maintained a deep bond with his best friend Haven during prison visits, but his true focus was Grayson, Haven’s son, whom he secretly loved. After Grayson’s release from serving eight years, Jeremy and Grayson begin working together in Haven’s shop. With his past debts cleared and a fresh start in the community, Grayson is determined to finally pursue the man he loves—Jeremy.

I struggled with this story of enduring loyalty, redemption, and love, finally given a chance after years of separation. I found it hard to get my head around the men, their connection and their relationship. Having read other stories in the series, I did wonder why I found it so hard to get on with. I did, however, like the courage to pursue desire after years of silence, the resilience of bonds tested by hardship, and the healing power of community and second chances. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: A Little Christmas 3: Zachy by Layla Dorine 3 of 5 stars

A Little Christmas 3: Zachy

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Zachy doesn't mean to be naughty, and with Christmas coming up, he's doubling his efforts to be good, despite nagging feelings that it's much too late for his efforts. Will this overly excitable little finally find the Daddy of his dreams beneath the tree, or will Santa skip Zachy's house again this year, and leave him with nothing to celebrate.

This was a sweet story of how little Zachy struggled with an inexperienced Daddy only to find an experienced one who was willing to take them both on. I loved how their relationship developed and that their love for each other meant that there was no real jealousy or resentment. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: A Daddy for Christmas: Ryu by Layla Dorine 4 of 5 stars

A Daddy for Christmas: Ryu

A Daddy for Christmas: Ryu by Layla Dorine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Secret Santa mixup has sent Little Ryu to the wrong Daddy and he is sitting in a basket outside of Hank's door who has no idea what is happening apart from it has to be connected to the local kink club he is a member of. As soon as Hank discovers who Ryu should have gone to he changes his mind and rushes the adorable boy in from the cold declaring that he is his. Never in his wildest dreams did Hank think that simple statement would change his bleak holiday season into one of hope and love.

This is a sweet story of an adorable boy and his reluctant Daddy who soon became the centre of their worlds as they got to know each other. There were plenty of tender moments as well as a lot of drama and danger around Hank and his history. Ryu was just adorable and there were times in the story that I wanted to hug him (especially when he felt abandoned like outside the front door at the start). Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic with binkies and diapers.

Review: A Little Christmas: Ajay's Secret: An MM Age Play Christmas Romance by Layla Dorine 4 of 5 star

A Little Christmas: Ajay's Secret: An MM Age Play Christmas Romance

A Little Christmas: Ajay's Secret: An MM Age Play Christmas Romance by Layla Dorine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Walker Remington hates the holiday season. Then young and fun-loving street musician Ajay McKerran comes along with his body piercings and coloured hair. When a chance meeting lands him a gig playing at a dinner club for kink-minded individuals, he never imagined it would land him in a space where he could safely explore things he's long desired. But is Walker the right Daddy for him or will the man prove to be as cold as the Baltimore winter Ajay ventures out to play in?

This was a really sweet story as Walker and Ajay came together as fate intervened and gave them both the relationship and love that they both needed. There is an amazing coincidence late in the story when they talk more about the past. I'd love to know what happens next to them and if Ajay did his demo to break into music more seriously. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Painted Love: A Pride Pet Play Novel by Layla Dorine 3 of 5 stars

Painted Love: A Pride Pet Play Novel

Painted Love: A Pride Pet Play Novel by Layla Dorine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cas is an earnest and honest ferret and made his own suit via a patchwork of different coloured fur to make it more accurate. He just wants the chance to prove that he can be a good pet. Mouse is a kitty with an amazing Daddy. They have been looking for a third to join them in playtime maybe forever if everything fits. The more time they spend together, the more they bond. But will an arsonist bring all their plans crashing down around them before they ever have the chance to see them realized?

I loved this story and the way that they all bonded was magical, but the fire and what could have happened was just scary. I loved the way that Mouse fell for Cas first it wasn't long for the others. The fire was dramatic and the way that Cas saved himself and Mouse was outstanding. Their Daddy's response was sheer terror and I can totally understand his reaction and the way that they comforted each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship with pet play.

Review: Babber Into My Heart by Layla Dorine 3 of 5 stars

Babber Into My Heart (Pet Play by the Lake)

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bastian is a Ferret and his friend Chauncy who is a kitten have both travelled to the Pet Play by the Lake event - Bastian to find a keeper as he can't see himself changing from his wild ways and Chuncy wants to become a perfect pet for a special person. Jarrod is a gentle soul who likes to give pets their heads and run with them. His experience as a pony mast means he has a soft hand that coaxes. Jarrod sees Bastian doing some parkour on the event's grounds and is entranced. Will Bastian take the time to learn that Jarrod is only firm when it comes to his pet’s needs and well-being, or will he rush past him in his hurry to fling himself off the next obstacle, and perhaps miss out on the one trainer perfectly suited to him?

I enjoyed this story as Bastian is not like the other pets with his wild ways and boisterous play and needs a special keeper who would totally understand his needs and can work with them (not change him). I loved that it was a long slow process for the trust and love between Bastian and Jarrod. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM short story with some mature content with a BSDM-like D/s relationship with pet play and some touch play.
