Review: Spitting off the Edge of the World by Courtney W. Dixon 4 of 5 stars

Spitting off the Edge of the World

Spitting off the Edge of the World by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Julien, numb despite his privileged life, hires Romeo for two weeks hoping to feel something again. Romeo, a sex worker with strict emotional boundaries and a painful past, plans to keep things detached — until Julien’s kindness begins breaking through his walls. What starts as an arrangement slowly becomes a connection neither expected.

Both Julien and Romeo come from horrendous lives, so it’s easy to understand why they gravitate toward each other the way they do. Julien gives Romeo a kind of “Pretty Woman” experience at first, but what really stood out to me was how they eventually settle into a quieter, more genuine partnership that feels right for both of them. The story is packed with big emotions — heartbreak, hope, and moments of real joy — creating a journey that’s dramatic, tender, and surprisingly moving. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: House of Cards by Courtney W. Dixon 5 of 5 stars

House of Cards

House of Cards by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calvin Abernathy is perfectly content with his no‑strings, no‑kids lifestyle — until a tragic accident leaves him the guardian of his friends’ grieving fourteen‑year‑old son. Completely out of his depth, he turns to his hot, infuriating neighbor Seth for help. Seth has always thought Calvin was a jerk, even if an annoyingly attractive one, but he agrees to step in for the boy’s sake. As the two men grow closer, their friendship starts to blur into something deeper, complicating Seth’s new relationship and forcing him to confront what — and who — he really wants. When red flags appear with Seth’s boyfriend, the choice becomes clear: it’s Calvin he trusts, and Calvin he’s falling for.

This story had such a strong, undeniable pull between Calvin and Seth — the kind of connection that only grows deeper as their lives and families slowly merge. Watching them navigate everything from Seth’s increasingly troubling boyfriend situation to Calvin suddenly becoming guardian to Braeden added so many rich layers to their relationship. The emotional stakes were high, and every feeling was beautifully described and easy to connect with. I loved how their bond shifted from irritation to friendship to something much more meaningful, all while juggling kids, grief, healing, and the messy realities of starting over. Braeden’s storyline in particular brought so much heart, grounding Calvin in ways he never expected. A heartfelt, emotional read, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Edged by Courtney W. Dixon 3 of 5 stars

Edged

Edged by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Atlas applies for a PA job hoping for stability, never expecting the two VPs interviewing him to be the same men he shared an unforgettable, intimate night with. They made him feel wanted for the first time — and now they want him back in their lives, not just as an employee but as their “princess.” Hugh is already in trouble at work thanks to his unconventional desires, and hiring Atlas is the last thing he should do. But after their night together, he’s never been able to forget him, and seeing Atlas again makes resisting impossible. Linden has always followed Hugh’s lead, quietly nursing a crush he’s never acted on. When Atlas reappears, instead of jealousy, he feels drawn to him too. Together, the three of them discover that what they want isn’t competition — it’s a shared connection they all felt from the start.

I loved that this story beautifully captured a triad that feels not only believable but deeply right. Atlas, Hugh, and Linden each bring something essential to the relationship — Atlas’s vulnerability, Hugh’s commanding confidence, and Linden’s quiet devotion — and together they form a bond that feels perfectly balanced and emotionally rich. What makes their connection especially compelling is how seamlessly their love blends emotional intimacy with shared physical intimacy. The sexual side of their relationship isn’t just spice; it’s a meaningful expression of trust, desire, and the way they fit together as a unit. Their shared encounters strengthen their bond and highlight just how naturally the three of them connect. A tender, passionate, and affirming romance about three men who are absolutely perfect for one another in every way that matters. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Review: The Silent Night Stalker by Courtney W. Dixon 4 of 5 stars

The Silent Night Stalker

The Silent Night Stalker by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Enzo discovers that the notorious “Silent‑Night Stalker,” a killer who strikes every Christmas Eve, has chosen him as the next target. Still mourning his best friend, Enzo is attacked in his own home — but the encounter takes an unexpected turn. Instead of a cold, calculating predator, the Stalker turns out to be a man called Constantine who is unstable, frightened, and strangely submissive. As Enzo confronts him, he realizes the man is far from the ruthless figure the police imagine. Their clash becomes a disturbing psychological entanglement, forcing Enzo to question how someone so timid became a killer — and what it means about himself that he instinctively knows how to take control of him.

I enjoyed this dark romance with the two men who understood each other as they were both different sides of criminality. I loved that Enzo expected Con to be a ruthless killer — instead he found someone frightened, unstable, and craving direction. The story examined the unsettling human instinct to empathise with someone who has done terrible things. I also liked that the story showed that even in dark circumstances, humans seek connection — sometimes in twisted or unexpected ways. I don't think that everyone will enjoy this story even if they like dark romance but everything does come good at the end. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Cueball & Double-Z by Courtney W. Dixon 5 of 5 stars

Cueball & Double-Z

Cueball & Double-Z by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gio (Zero) feels trapped in a cycle of failure and emotional suppression, having loved Cole silently for years. His self-worth erodes until Cueball offers refuge, sparking a rediscovery of joy and a surprising new love—for both Cole and Cueball. Cole (Zilch), burdened by past mistakes, finds renewed purpose in nurturing Gio and Cueball. Though still broken, he embraces his role as a source of love and healing, seeing this as his own path to recovery. Marco (Cueball), once emotionally guarded, is undone by Gio and Cole’s chaotic presence. Their vulnerability forces him to confront his own buried pain. Despite fear, he begins to crave connection again—perhaps even love. Together, these three form a fragile but transformative triad, each learning that healing often comes through loving—and being loved—by those who see your worst and stay anyway.

I loved this story with three broken men who found each other by chance and found love and support together. I adored Cole who was so intuitive and loving that I just wanted to hug him. Gio had done his best to be strong but needed someone to care for and love him. . Marco was a tormented soul but I do believe that it wasn't his fault and so I wholeheartedly agree with Alpha's opinion. This has been a very enjoyable series and it was always well researched and written by the author. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Review: It's Only Love by A.E. Jensen by Courtney W. Dixon 4 of 5 stars

It's Only Love

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dennis has loved Mike Tanner—his brother’s best friend—for as long as he can remember. Before leaving for college, he confessed his feelings with a kiss that ended in heartbreak. Now, four years later, Dennis returns to Cannon Beach, emotionally bruised and convinced that his chance with Mike is long gone. Mike has carried the weight of grief since childhood, finding solace in Dennis’s quiet companionship. When Dennis kissed him years ago, Mike wasn’t ready. But time and failed relationships have shown him that no one compares to Dennis. With Dennis back in town, Mike realizes the truth: Dennis has always been the one.

I loved this with its emotional depth and longing woven into this second-chance romance. This was a sweet story of unspoken love, emotional healing, and the courage to ask for a second chance. There were moments when I felt despair and then also moments when I had hope. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: His Coveted Obsession by Courtney W. Dixon 5 of 5 stars

His Coveted Obsession

His Coveted Obsession by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

His Coveted Obsession is a dark romance that explores themes of possession, obsession, and desperate loyalty. Thomas Lauder, struggling with an unstable home life and raising his younger sister, finds an anchor in Easton Virgil—the intense, dominant figure who saves him from a tense encounter at the coffee shop. What begins as admiration quickly turns into full-fledged devotion. Easton, nineteen and grappling with his own emotional emptiness, thrives on Thomas's obsession, feeding off his unwavering attention. To Easton, Thomas is his possession, a necessity, an irreplaceable presence in his life. But when Thomas’s destructive father pulls them apart, Easton is prepared to do whatever it takes to get him back—even if it means tearing the world apart.

I loved this very dark and suspenseful story, which explored the blurred lines between love, obsession, and control. The story had raw intensity, flawed characters, and a love that bordered on dangerous devotion. I read this book twice because I loved it so much. Easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Milked by Courtney W. Dixon 3 of 5 stars

Milked

Milked by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This story centres on a complex, emotionally charged relationship between three men navigating love, desire, and healing. Knox, the powerful owner of Legends Nightclub, shares a deep bond with his stepson and lover, Finn. When Finn sets his sights on Ryder, a newly hired bartender, he persuades Knox to welcome him into their relationship. Ryder, having fled his painful past to start anew, is hesitant yet intrigued by the offer. As the three of them grow closer, Ryder discovers a world of passion and acceptance, while Knox and Finn find themselves drawn to Ryder’s vulnerability. What begins as an exploration of desire soon transforms into something deeper—where love and healing intertwine.

This was an enjoyable story with the established taboo relationship and the introduction of a third. There were several events that gave rise to emotions and feelings which were adequately covered but could have benefited from more detail. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content.

As Kingston faces unexpected challenges, he must decide whether to let Harley in—not just into his heart, but into the life he’s fought so hard to build.

Review: Blaze & Ajax by Courtney W. Dixon 3 of 5 stars

Blaze & Ajax

Blaze & Ajax by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Blaze (Aiden), once wealthy but now disgraced, finds himself drawn to Jaxon "Ajax" Kean, despite their mutual animosity. Blaze needs Ajax in ways he can't ignore, even if it means swallowing his pride. Ajax, harbouring resentment toward Blaze for past actions, struggles with his own feelings after a heated encounter. As their tension builds, both must confront their emotions and decide if they can navigate their complicated dynamic without losing themselves in the process.

I enjoyed this story with the enemies to lovers vibe as both men learnt more about each other. This was a story full of emotions and feelings especially for Aiden. I understand what Ajax did for Aiden but I wasn't sure how comfortable I was with it. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.

Pippin & Nacho

Pippin & Nacho by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pippin (Sam) hides his pain behind a facade, struggling with the scars of conversion therapy and foster care. His passions, skateboarding and bartending, bring some joy, but it’s Nate, his former foster brother and best friend, who truly keeps him grounded. Secretly in love with Nate, Sam fears that revealing his feelings could jeopardize their bond. Nate, having endured a turbulent foster care experience, became Sam’s protector after rescuing him from an abusive situation. Deeply devoted to Sam, Nate secretly loves him but prioritizes Sam’s well-being over his own emotions. Both wrestle with their feelings, afraid that pursuing love might risk the connection they rely on for survival.

I loved this very emotional story with the two men who were damaged in different ways from their childhoods and found a way to be together and work on their mental health. I loved how the others did their best to try and help them. Easy to read, feel and understand this was full of big emotions and feelings. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Stix & Stone by Courtney W. Dixon 4 of 5 stars

Stix & Stone (Alpha's Rejects, #1)

Stix & Stone by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Damien “Stone” Sloan can’t stand Nico “Stix” Jamieson—his relentless cheerfulness, his teasing, and the constant drumming that grates on his nerves. Yet, despite his irritation, he can’t seem to stop obsessing over him. Nico, on the other hand, is both intrigued and intimidated by Stone, unsure why he’s hated but unable to resist pushing his buttons. Beneath Stone’s hardened exterior, Nico senses something deeper—pain, fear, and vulnerability—and he’s determined to uncover the real Damien, no matter how much resistance he faces.

I loved this story with the two men who started off with Stone being irritated by Stix but eventually they became so much more to each other. I loved Alpha and the way that he helped people as he built a family of his staff. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

FBI analyst Dalton Reed’s name is on Sid Virgil's hit list, but he knows he won’t do it. Though he hasn’t seen Dalton in twenty-seven years, they have a history together. He saved Sid's life many years ago, and he doesn’t even realise it. Now, it’s his turn to save him and his young son. Dalton Reed hasn’t seen Sid in twenty-seven years, and he now finds him standing between Dalton and his escape. He insists he wants to help, but he was sent to kill him so it is hard to trust him. I enjoyed this story of the two men who had a bad past history and how Sid managed to get around that and get his family to accept them so that they could live life as a family together. There was a lot of drama and action in this story that definitely stopped anyone from being bored of the sizzling chemistry between these two men. Easy to read, feel and understand. His Bane

His Bane by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Some people call Sullivan Beauchamp a monster. A psychopath. As if he cares what others think. So what if he relishes in the mayhem of slaughter or enjoy feeling the life blink out of someone? It was Malik who eventually brought him to his home and trained him to hone his skills to work under him as an assassin. Malik Amin is his equal, and he will be his in all ways as soon as he can chip away at his ridiculous and completely unnecessary self-loathing. Sully lost everything as a teenager on Malik Amin's order. When he found him covered in blood four years later, he should have put him down, knowing what he was. Instead, he took him in to train him. It works for them until he wants Malik more than as a mentor. He cannot allow it. But if Sully is anything, he is a master at persuasiveness and discovering his weaknesses.

I loved this dark story as the two assassins loved each other from afar until finally Sully broke through Malik's defences. Lots of angst, violence, thoughts and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Dante is Luca Davenport's angel, sent to be his death bringer to save him from his tormentors and betrayers - those who sold him into slavery when he was only eight years old. Angel came in with guns blazing and black wings that were made to crush his enemies and envelope Luca in love. Dante belongs to him and he belongs to Dante. We are destined. After he saves him from his captors, they hunt down the remaining men who had abused him for eleven years to make them pay in blood. Luca is a broken boy of no more than nineteen. He sees Dante Varga as an angel, but he's simply a killer. An assassin for hire. He can’t save him. He can’t take care of him. There’s no room left in his dying soul to care about someone. Not anymore. But he can’t turn him away either. He should kill him. He’s a witness. But Dante feels compelled to protect him at all costs. Saving him will either shatter the ice around his heart or destroy him. Either way, Luca is dangerous.

Fighting the Fear (Fighting for Love)

Fighting the Fear by Courtney W. Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jace's leg was almost taken from him in a motorcycle accident which resulted in destroying his UFC career and then his marriage. His life now revolves around a factory job and barely living while he keeps going teaching kids MMA at Knockout Gym. Then one night he hears Nolan call for help from a dark alley and he finds himself teaching him how to defend himself several evenings per week. Slowly over time and as they get to know each other he finds himself falling for Nolan. He knew a rich boy in a bad neighbourhood was a bad idea and when four men mugged him he had no way to fend them off until Jace appeared fighting his way through them to get to him. Shaken, Nolan vows to learn how to protect himself and hires Jace to give him private lessons. But Jace is becoming more than a trainer and even though they are worlds apart he is wondering if they can be together because he certainly wants him.

This was a sweet story of two men who met when one of them didn't ignore the person in need and went in to use his skills to save him. I loved the relationship between them both and that they were both falling for each other. They did their best to handle their problems through communication and I loved that they supported each other's goals, hopes and dreams. Easy to read, feel and understand. Review: Jack Frosting by Finn Dixon 3 of 5 stars

Jack Frosting (Snow Dates Book 2)

Jack Frosting by Finn Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bisexual Clayton's wife after being caught with another man left but also left their son and had signed away all her rights. Soon afterwards he lost his job. Looking to keep paying the mortgage he rented out the room in the basement to Jack he knew he was in trouble especially after he kept walking around with no shirt on. Jack realised that he had been blown by Clacton one night in a club but was not offended that he didn't remember as he was drunk at the time. One night Jack found that behind a usually locked basement door, there was a BDSM playroom so he determined to show Clayton a good time in there.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who had an undeniable pull between them that just couldn't be denied. Their creative use of the equipment and the efforts to hide around Clacton's son were quite amusing at times (made more funny when it became clear they had not fooled him at all). I enjoyed the interactions to the characters from the first book in the series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Gareth had one night with Eli via a hookup app and then unable to forget him he carried on working and studying. Following a recommendation he was shocked to be introduced to Gareth who is great with his son and soon becomes his manny. Normally they both do not mix business with pleasure but make an exception in this case.

I enjoyed this story with the friendship between Gareth and Eli's son, their growing attraction and all of the kinky ways that they got together. This was a little light on the story and heavy on the sexual content at times. Easy to read and understand. This was a novella-length MM story with mature content.

Review: The Alien Assassin's Convenient Wife by Ruby Dixon 3 of 5 stars

The Alien Assassin's Convenient Wife (In The Stars)The Alien Assassin's Convenient Wife by Ruby Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Alien Jadzion is one half of an intergalactic assassin team and is currently in New Mexico on Earth searching for his assigned target while his brother Heriot is in California looking for his. Their targets are gun-runner on a galactic scale and Jadzion has a problem - he waited until the last minute to go planetside and his target is now at a couples retreat - as a single male, he cannot enter to search for him. The solution seems obvious to him - he needs a wife just for the weekend to capture his mark. Using a thing known as a "dating app" he finds a woman called Jenna but when he tells her that he needs to marry her right away she is understandably confused. But the longer she is around Jadzion the more she thinks he is not from around here and that he might just be the one for her.

I quite enjoyed this novella which was quite amusing considering the type of couples retreat they were at and the way that Jadzion reacted. I thought that the way he managed to do the cleanup efficiently while ensuring that Jenna was safe and well showed that he was not as bad at his job as could have been believed. Easy to understand and read. Contains explicit sexual content in places especially at the end.
