Review: Clyde and Hay by C.W. Gray 4 of 5 stars

Clyde and Hay

Clyde and Hay by C.W. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Clyde Dailyn wants nothing to do with a life mate, even as loneliness keeps him awake. Trusting someone feels impossible. Hayward Grimes, an asexual former assassin, knows exactly what he wants — a mate and a family — and he’s patient enough to wait for Clyde. But when their pasts collide, their future is threatened. Clyde must find the courage to fight for the family he never expected, while Hay faces a ghost from his past — with support from those who stand with them.

This was such a sweet story, especially watching Clyde slowly open up as he and Hay spent quiet, meaningful time together in the park. Those moments let Clyde learn that he could trust Hay and that trust became the heart of their relationship. I loved the family aspect, too. Their wider families coming together to help, protect, and support them made everything feel warmer and richer. It turned their bond into something bigger than just the two of them. A story full of emotions and feelings that were easy to connect with and that genuinely made me smile. This was an MM story with mature content.
