Matt Lucas is the leader of the Infiltration Tactical Unit. He is being hunted by the agency he once served and has reluctantly allied with Ethan Wilder, a bear shifter. Despite Lucas's initial reservations, he finds himself drawn to Wilder. They are trapped together with their team, and Wilder becomes crucial to Lucas's mission to take down their nemesis, Hornell, and to prevent Lucas from "imploding" as secrets from his past surface. The narrative highlights themes of trust, survival, and an unexpected connection amidst escalating danger.
I loved this story as it worked towards the end of the mystery of what Hornell is doing and stopping him. As part of that was the sizzling hot dynamic between Matt and Ethan. Plenty of danger and drama as they took on those who were allied to Hornell. Tied in with this were the people from Matt's past one of those who needed to be stopped. Huge amounts of emotions and feelings as Matt was forced to reveal and confront his past. This was an MM story with mature content.
