My rating: 3 of 5 stars
BJ clings to a deeply personal collection of retired crayons, particularly the elusive violet-blue—a symbol of his own past sense of being cherished, then forgotten. When a box containing the collection is lost during a stressful move, BJ’s quiet world is shaken. Desperate, he reaches out to the community, and when Glenn from the moving company unexpectedly replies that he’s found it, relief floods in… accompanied by a telltale spark. Gratitude and attraction blur in the final moment, hinting at a deeper connection beneath the surface of a simple recovery.
This story was soft, symbolic, and laced with a hopeful ache. It was quietly intimate and brimming with understated longing. There were a few issues. There was no discussion before they had bare sex and some of their conversations were summarised so I wondered what had been removed. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
