Unmade

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story follows Leighton Watts, a young recruit in a private military contractor program, struggling with loneliness, self-doubt, and a desperate need to belong. His mentor, Bo Beckett, is a seasoned operator with a rough exterior but a patient and kind heart. Leighton is thrown into a world of danger and unexpected revelations when Bo pushes him to reconnect with his estranged family, only to discover that his uncles were once part of Hillcroft. As Leighton navigates intense training and personal turmoil, he finds himself caught in an active operation, facing threats he never anticipated.

I loved this story that blended themes of identity, found family, and survival, with an age-gap dynamic and high-stakes action. Huge amounts of emotions and feelings are followed by intense action and danger.  This was an MM story with mature content.

** Please note that this book ends on a cliffhanger, and you need to read the next book in the story, called Remade.
