Matty needs to marry by his 28th birthday to inherit his parents' fortune and stop his uncle from getting it. Novo, seeking revenge on the billionaire Harold Coombes, discovers Matty is Coombes's godson and sees an opportunity. They enter into an arranged marriage contract: two million dollars for two years. Matty, a "spoiled rich kid," desires protection, while Novo, a "battle-hardened enforcer," has a score to settle. Their plan becomes complicated when they develop genuine feelings for each other, and Coombes discovers their scheme, threatening to destroy them both.
I enjoyed this story with the merging of multiple story threads around the couple. They felt real but there was little story development so areas needed more detail. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
