My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Tim “Harry” Harrigan, a former elite Australian operative, has spent years dismantling threats in the shadows—until a familiar danger resurfaces, and he realizes he’s the one being hunted. Asher Garin, a mercenary with no ties and even fewer morals, becomes his unlikely ally when he learns he’s been targeted too. Forced into a partnership neither asked for, the two men must navigate betrayal, shifting loyalties, and a deadly game where survival isn’t guaranteed. Alone, they were ghosts. Together, they’ve got something to fight and die for.
I enjoyed this story with its bruised bravado meets uneasy trust themes. There was a lot of danger and drama as the two men defended themselves and then tried to find out why they were targets. Their initial prickly relationship was replaced with passion and then so much more. I loved the conclusion which was a surprise. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
