Review: Weaker Than Instinct by Becca Seymour 4 of 5 stars

Weaker Than Instinct

Vaughn Michaels, is a lone wolf agent who prefers to work alone but is forced into a partnership as punishment for pushing his unit too far. He's tasked with an undercover mission at the SICB Academy to investigate missing recruits. Despite his reluctance to work with anyone, he's paired with Jett Shaw, a "hotshot" rookie agent described as alluring and close to getting under Vaughn's skin. The two must work together, but Vaughn struggles with trust, even in himself. A new threat emerges, putting Shaw in danger and forcing Vaughn to reconsider his approach. The success of their mission—taking down a "shadow agency"—and the survival of his entire unit now depend on Vaughn changing his solitary ways.

I loved this story with the two men who were instantly attracted to each other but had to work together as they tried to crack the case of the missing students. There was a lot of danger and drama as they got closer to solving the mystery. The combination of humans and supernatural was good but I did miss the interaction between shifters when they loved each other and were shifted. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
