In The Story of Danny Rose, Emerson, a seasoned SAS operator, is startled when his vacation is interrupted by an unexpected intruder—Danny, a cocky and volatile young soldier he once worked with. Danny’s resourcefulness and determination lead him straight to Emerson’s doorstep, forcing an uneasy reunion. What begins as frustration soon shifts when Emerson discovers a softer side to Danny, symbolised by a small stuffed animal hidden in his backpack. As their connection deepens, Emerson realises Danny is no longer just a fleeting memory but someone who will change his life forever. The story explores themes of trust, unexpected bonds, and the transformation of a hardened soldier into something more.
I enjoyed this story, which had been expanded from the version that had previously appeared in an anthology. There were a suitable number of emotions and feelings explored as part of this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
