Review: Dragon's Hope by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Dragon's Hope (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #4)Dragon's Hope by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lana was a Vagrant on the human generation ship before it crashed and so is used to struggling to survive. Now on Tajss, the seven-foot-tall dragon men with wings, tails and scales (the Zmaj) were complete lifesavers for them and some of the women and finding love with them as they are physically compatible. Having never fitted in, although Lana is happy for them she still wants to desperately find her own place in their society and have a clear purpose where she can be appreciated and contribute. So she finds it strange that the one person who is more likely to understand that motivation is one of the dragon men - Asterot. While they understand each other and are attracted to each other she decides that she wants a traditional one night stand with him - the problem is that is not a concept to the Zmaj - he definitely wants more and won't give up until he can claim her as his treasure.

I enjoyed this book which had a very independent woman who needed to make a place for herself, a very determined dragon and their adventures as he tried to pass on knowledge to her. The battles with the various enemies were good and showed just how determined they both were to protect each other even if she was still in denial about her feelings for him. It was interesting to see different societies are their way of life. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
