Review: Submit by Tana Stone 2 of 5 stars

Submit (The Sky Clan of the Taori, #1)

Submit by Tana Stone
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Human Lia was abducted by space slavers and was sold to an alien species that put her on an immersive entertainment moon to be hunted and bedded at their leisure. Torst is a Taori warrior who crash-landed on the moon and who intervenes to save Lia from an attack. Then not only does he have to protect her going forward but he is also suffering from a mating fever curse common to his species and the strange stirrings within. Soon he is fighting off the uncontrollable urge to claim Lia as his mate. Can they both survive, can Torst find his crewmates and will they become mates?

I struggled with this story. I found the premise a bit too strange and the interaction between Torst and Lia was a little wooden and stilted. I did finish the book but it was difficult. Contains mature content.

Review: starstruck by Susan Hayes by Michelle Howard by Tana Stone by Tasha |Black 4 of 5 stars

starstruck

starstruck by Susan Hayes by Michelle Howard by Tana Stone by Tasha Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A good value collection of alien romance books.

Mating Urge by Michelle Howard - 3*

Elliana Cage stows on a spaceship leaving soon to escape her evil step-father and avoid the false criminal charges against her. Aran T'Kar didn't expect to discover a beautiful woman hiding out on the Zanian IX. Protocol dictates immediate detainment, but Aran can't resist the urge to take one forbidden taste.

This was a pleasant story although it was a bit high-level and would have been better with more details about the races, the politics, mating and the disc contents. Easy to read and understand.

Torn by Tana Stone - 3*

The Drexian Warrior took the wrong woman from Earth to be a tribute bride. As he got to know her he realised that he actually wanted her even though he couldn't have her as she was allocated to another.

I enjoyed this story with was a high-level introduction to the Drexian Tribute Bride series. I did find the agreeable nature of Jax to be a little strange and most unlikely (and certainly not as quick as he was). Contains some mature content.

Bond by Tasha Black - 4*

Posey Quinn believes that there is more to the world than what she can see so when she goes to            Stargazer to donate eggs, she is not completely surprised to learn she has been asked to make an alien fall in love with her and become an ambassador for humankind. What she never expected was how much of a hunk Bond is and how irresistible he is. Bond is on Earth to give a human female as much pleasure as she can handle while learning as much about the planet and its inhabitants as he can. He knows that if the patient has enough resources and the residents are not worthy, that he time with Posey is limited.

This was an enjoyable story that has the slow build-up to a relationship between Bond and Posey which was quite nice to experience with them (even if there was the dark background mission so that they could test the human inhabitants to see basically if they were worthy of living any longer. A sweet story that will be interesting to find out what happens next.

Review: Claimed Among the Stars by V.K. Ludwig 4 of 5 stars by Tana Stone by Ella Maven by Tasha Black by Honey Phillips by Tina Moss

Claimed Among the Stars

Claimed Among the Stars by V.K. Ludwig
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great-value alien romance anthology which will often contain stories from well-known series that you can't get anywhere else. All stories were well told, in clear language and it was easy to be transported away. The male aliens were all alpha males who would do anything to protect their women even though most of them were sassy and quite able to look after themselves.

This review is based on the following books that I read from the anthology:

Tana Stone Prize - 4*
Tasha Black Promised Mate - 4*
Ella Maven Saved by the Prisoner - 4*
Honey Phillips Alien Castaway - 4*
Tina Moss Alien’s Getaway - 3*

Review: Flame: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Flame: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance (Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors Book 5)

Flame: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Leila was sick of being upstaged by her twin and so took her place on the tribute bride scheme and ended up on a Drexian space station matched to a gorgeous warrior. But she is not the one they wanted and so she is on the first ship back to Earth. However, the transport containing her sister is hijacked by the Kronock so she quickly stows away on one of the rescue ships but after being discovered they are attacked by the Kronock and crash on an alien planet. The gorgeous Drexian she is stranded with is brave and is her sister's fiance but hard as she tries not to, she is fast falling for him.

I enjoyed this story with the twins, the fiance and the denial in order to do their duty before realising that they just cannot go through with everything. I loved the electricity between Leila and Tal and the passion that existed between them which just proves that they were meant to be together and not with someone else. I loved the way that they were able to work together and how the sisters came to a conclusion that actually showed that they had they were far more alike than they probably realised. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

Review: Claim by Tana Stone 4 of 5 stars

Claim (Barbarians of the Sand Planet #6)

Claim by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lycithian Bexli is able to shift to other creatures and is just looking forward to getting a ship and getting off the sand planet to get back to bounty hunting. Then suddenly she cannot shift which can only mean that she is pregnant after just one night. Dothvek Tommel is a silver fox who rarely talks is moody and treats Bexli as if she was a fragile female who needs protecting. He won't talk about his past, knows he won't take a mate, but cannot stop thinking about beautiful Bexli. Determined to prove to him that she is not fragile, they end up sharing a tent and a bed. But when Tommel walks out she panics and runs as far as she can see - right into danger. Now with no ability to shapeshift, she cannot help to rescue her crewmates due to her pregnancy. How will things work out?

I enjoyed this story with the fiercely independent Bexli and the damaged Tommel and how they came together in a passion that over time turned into something else. I loved the dramatic ending to the crisis between Dothvek and Crestecks and the way that everything seems to have ended happily for the series. Sad it is over but it was fun while it lasted. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Savage by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Savage (Barbarians of the Sand Planet #5)

Savage by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human Caro is abducted from the Dothvek village by exiled Dothvek Rukken who feels that she is his mate. Caro has other ideas and just wants to escape and rejoin her teammates. It appears that Rukken was exiled for murder but he says he was innocent and framed for it and so over time Caro believes him and wants to help to clear his name. She also starts to feel the connection but fights it all the way. eventually, she succumbs but can they clear his name before he is killed?

I enjoyed this story although eventually, I became sick of Caro and her denial of what she was feeling and was developing between her and Rukken. I did love the arrival of Tori and what transpired after then. Full of passion, heightened emotions and more betrayal it was certainly full of lots of drama and danger. Easy to read and understand. Contains sexual content.

Review: Tribute by Tana Stone 2 of 5 stars

Tribute

Tribute by Tana Stone
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Human Holly gave herself to the Cresteks in order to save her friend and is pledged to be the mate of T'Kar the chancellor's son. Determined to play along until she can escape she feels she just needs to bide her time until the Dothvek's free her. T'Kar could have his pick of mates but he is told he must mate the flame-haired human female who stirs his desire - the problem is she defies him at every turn. He has no intention of falling for her but that might not be possible. Can they both resist each other and escape the chancellor's hold on them and their future?

I've loved this series so far but Holly was just the most obnoxious woman who I could not like - to the point it was a coin flip away if I finished this book at all. I did enjoy some of the action at times which was enjoyable and it did give me a final result that I loved. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Torment by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Torment

Torment by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tori stowed away on the enemy ship set on sabotage to punish them for killing the doctor at the end of the previous book what she didn't want was for a cocky Dothvek warrior Vrax to follow her onto the ship too. He gets under her skin constantly and then he is captured and offloaded into an alien slave market. She knows she can't leave him behind, but can she save him from one of the notorious slavers? Vrak can't describe his need to protect the fierce bounty hunter who certainly doesn't welcome him or his help. When he is taken to the Den of the Thieves he fears he may never see her and his home again which is made worse when he is purchased by a madam with plans for him. Can Tori rescue Vrax and can they move from enemies to lovers?

I enjoyed this story if you did your best to ignore Tori's chip on her shoulder and her manic determination to be strong and independent. I enjoyed the exploits in the Den of Thieves and some of the characters that they met and were able to help them. It was also good to find out more background to Tori and an explanation of why she was how she was. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Cherish: A Sci-Fi Alien Baby Holiday Short by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Cherish: A Sci-Fi Alien Baby Holiday Short (Barbarians of the Sand Planet Book 7)

Cherish: A Sci-Fi Alien Baby Holiday Short by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this short story, the bounty hunter babes are ready to celebrate Christmas but they are also returning to the sand planet their mates are from. Having landed back there and most of them being pregnant, they could be in for a little bit more than holiday cheer in this story.

I enjoyed this story which was a nice addition to the Barbarians of the Sand Planet series and cannot be read stand-alone. A fun read with a few dramas as well as a set-up for another story in the series (or even the start of a spin-off series). Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Captive (Barbarians of the Sand Planet #2)

Captive by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Scientist Max Dryden was taken by women bounty hunters who were then all marooned on a sand planet only to be taken by aliens. She now finds herself guarded by a warrior and a captor watching her every move. The warrior guarding her is not one of the ones who took her and is actually a sand barbarian sent by the women in order to break her out and take her back. Determined to find a way out of captivity and get off the planet to carry on with her research he is not the kind of distraction she needs. Kush is the Dothvek warrior sent to find and break her out. As her personal guard, they are both locked in a luxurious suite together and trying really hard not to give in to his attraction to her. Can he get them both out without losing his heart?

I enjoyed this story with had several twists and turns which made it much more fun than it appeared to be at the start. I enjoyed her attempts to resist him as well as his own which were funny especially when she was being given a bath lol A fun read which added more colour to the sand planet. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Provoked by Tana Stone 4 of 5 stars

Provoked (Raider Warlords of the Vandar, #6)

Provoked by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Juliette snuck onto the wrong spaceship that was about to leave her home planet and finds herself on the Vandar warbird under the control of Raas Vassim who is known as one who is deranged due to a curse laid on him. When she is discovered she demands to be returned home but he refuses to let her go. Refusing to submit to any feeling for him that she might have she plots to message her sister for help. The problem is that she fears his darkness but she also finds that he stokes a fire deep within her. Can she pay the price he wants for messaging her sister?

I loved this book which had two equally stubborn people submitting to lust which turns into love as they battle his demons as well as the enemy. I loved sassy Juliette who was very pure and nieve to start with but also had an inbuilt fierceness that you couldn't help but respect. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content. I'm so very sad this is the last book in the series.

Punished (Raider Warlords of the Vandar #5)

Punished by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Vandar warrior Corvak has been exiled to a planet and has agreed to train the men to defend the planet from the Empire. What he didn't count on is female human Sienna who is a great fighter and is not willing to be excluded on the basis of sex. And so determined to succeed she snakes into his home in order to beg him to teach her separately from the men. In a deal, she agrees to help him leave the planet if he teaches her - the question is will she be able to watch him leave without her?

I enjoyed this story which had a determined human female who was not prepared to be discounted just for being female snd \corvak who was determined to resist her and not give in to the intense attraction he had for her. The layers of misinformation and lies were impressive considering that the planet was supposed to be so peaceful but Corvak didn't disappoint with his fierceness as well as his ability to find the attraction of a human female too much to resist. Easy to read and understand, it was very easy to become invested in the story. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Pursued (Raider Warlords of the Vandar #4)

Pursued by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Alana is the most ruthless assassin in the Zagrath empire and has been given the assignment to find Raas Bron and kill him. Her plan is to seduce him and then kill him. But when she is there she realises that he is not the mindless killer she expected and is actually quite intelligent. After being taken to his bed she can't tell if she is seducing him or he is seducing her. Certainly, it is becoming hard to remember her mission. Soon she is more concerned that he is going to possess her body and her soul. However, the empire does not view rogue assassins kindly and they will come after her. Who will come out of this situation alive?

I enjoyed this story with the push and pull between them and the clever way that Bron interrogated her and then kept her under control. I did find the argument and banishment of his staff member a bit of an overreaction but it does set up the next book in the series well. It was good to see Bron with a fierce woman and I think that matched him well. Easy to read and understand. Does contain explicit sexual content.

Review: Blaze by Tana Stone 4 of 5 stars

Blaze (Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors #4)

Blaze by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Layne swore to herself that she would never fall for an alien warrior but now her life depends on trusting Drexian Dryx. She had to go to the space station to attend her cousin's wedding but when someone who is relentlessly pursuing her turns up, she enlists playboy Dryx to be her fake boyfriend - after all, when she goes home he will be nothing but a hot memory. When her return is delayed she has to pretend to be truly in love for even longer with him and can she continue to deny to herself that his touch lights her entire body up?

I really enjoyed this story with the evil man pursuing her and plotting against Dryx now he is in the way. The chemistry between Layne and Dryx was off the charts and it is almost as if they were the last to realise just how much they actually loved each other. Wedding planner Serge was as always a delight and he really needs to find a better source for phrases! Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Pillaged by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Pillaged (Raider Warlords of the Vandar, #3)

Pillaged by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rachel was promised by her parents to be a Vagrath Imperial General's bride but he was much older than her and so she took her chances and managed to escape during a battle. Her ship was captured by the Vandar raiders - alien men who wear battle kilts and have tails. They never take prisoners but the hoard's Raas Toraan makes an exception for her and instead he is determined to take her as his mate by claiming her repeatedly in his bed until the mating marks appear on her skin. So having made a deal she is his willingly which will give her freedom from the Imperial General. The question is, will the General accept the situation?

Part of me enjoyed this story with the strange attitude that Toraan had as well as her determination to protect her heart, but there were many things that made me just want to shake her until she wised up. Running away constantly is not a solution and she seriously showed a total disregard for her own life at times which contracts her determination to be free of the situation her parents put her in. Easy to read and understand (even if I didn't agree with the characters at times). Contains explicit sexual content.

Plundered (Raider Warlords of the Vandar #2)Plundered by Tana Stone
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Her sister Astra gave herself to a cruel and heartless Vandar warlord but older sister Tara is hunting her down to get her back. So when her warship is attacked by another warlord she expects to be blown out of the sky. Instead, she finds herself taken as a captive in return for leaving her spaceship alone. She may be his property but she will not submit to his demands even if his hard body and fiery eyes ignite an intense desire in him. The goal of finding her sister still remains and although Astra is not there he does know who has her - maybe if she gives him what he wants he will help her to find her? Her dilemma is whether giving her body to him will be all that he gets or will he plunder her heart too?

I enjoyed this story which had some great twists and turns as well as moments when they really had to rely on each other. I did find the constant arguments between them quite tiring and so I did drop my review by a star because it almost made me give in reading it. I did enjoy the fighting and the other folks that they met on the planet when they were there which was really interesting. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Possessed (Raider Warlords of the Vandar, #1)

Possessed by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human Astrid was a navigator on her sister's ship taking Zagrath supplies from one world to another. However, she makes an error and they accidentally stray into Vandar space and instead of letting them kill her sister she offers herself to them as a prisoner. Raas Kratos is the Vandar warrior who has gained a beautiful human woman as his prisoner. While she first finds him terrifying, over time she gets to know him and realises that he is actually quite kind to her and she starts to feel proper love for him. He also explains to her more about the differences between the Zagrath and the Vandar and she realises that maybe the bad guy is not who she thinks it is.

I really enjoyed this story. Astrid was sassy and also quite naive. Raas was a real man's man but he was also a lot more caring and sensitive than his exterior suggests. I loved their relationship and the way that she could push his buttons but he was strong enough to not lose it completely. I was thrilled when they finally got a HEA even though they had gone through so many challenges. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Burn: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance (Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors Book 3)

Burn: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Nina has been working with Drexian Vekron for some time on the space station specifically on the holographic and although she can clearly see how hot he is, has always tried to just stay as friends (in fact she considers him as her best friend). On a visit to an Inferno Force Battleship to investigate improving the onboard holographic, they suddenly find themselves on a ship that has jumped away to save a colony under attack. Vek is ok as he can just go back to his Inferno Force previous life but it is not so easy for Nina as the crew is not used to women being on the ship and as a curvy brainiac she is not used to all the looks and attention. When they learn that the attack on the colony is not the usual enemy but a new alien scourge sweeping across the galaxy Nina has to push any thoughts she might have about Vek as something more to the side as the crew works to defend and then rebuild the colony. Can Nina cope with living side by side with the one guy she badly wants but can't risk falling for?

I loved this story which was full of danger, drama, new aliens, crossed signals, misplaced priorities and hopefully the HEA that Nina and Vek definitely deserved together. The new aliens were interesting and the techniques used were great to read about. I loved the way that Nina and Vek were unable to resist each other but also had strong principles that were slightly misplaced. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Scorch by Tana Stone 4 of 5 stars

Scorch (Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors #2)

Scorch by Tana Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Samaira (Sam) is a criminal recruited by MI-6 as an alternative to prison and is joining the Drexiansin order to use her unique skills to break in and rescue the captured warrior Jax from the Kronock. Following some success, she ends up on an alien prison moon with just Jax. Although she was successful in breaking him out of the battleship he was a prisoner on he continues to look at her like a piece of dirt but it is not due to her past but his grudge against human females in general. This adds to their problems on the moon which is hot and swampy and therefore needs reduced clothing. Can they both survive until they are rescued so she can never have to see him again - after all he is a gorgeous but annoying alien who she just wants to kiss and do all sorts of things to?

I enjoyed this story which had the classical opposites attract element woven into the dramatic rescue of Jax from the Kronock followed by a crash under fire on their dark moon prison planet. The crash then sparked a need for them to learn to work together as well as trust each other. Eventually, they were unable to resist the chemistry around them. Easy to read and understand. Review: Ignite by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Ignite (Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors #1)

Ignite by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Since the role of Drexian warriors and the fact that aliens are real was explained to the humans on Earth, they no longer need to abduct tribute brides as there are many willing volunteers. A new space station affectionately called the Love Boat is being built in order for them to have their fantasy weddings and honeymoons. Human Zoey is the designer but it will never get finished if acting captain Kalix doesn't stop being grumpy and disagreeing. When things start to go wrong at the station they are forced to work together to save the station. But tempers start to fly and sparks ignite. Can they save the space station and themselves from a deadly Kronock plot?

I really enjoyed this story where Zoey and Kalix were like oil and water to each other and there were numerous examples of times they got in each other's way, but as the old saying says "opposites attract" and there was definitely an off the scale attraction between the two. I enjoyed the way that everything culminated in the safety of Kalix and Zoey realising that she was ready to be with the right person. Easy to read and understand. Contains a lot of explicit sexual content.
