Kieran’s Christmas hookup turns out to be Thane Hale, hockey’s golden boy, who is about to come out publicly as bisexual. Their one night together gives Thane a rare sense of normalcy, and he can’t stay away — especially when Kieran treats him like the headlines don’t matter. What began as a holiday fling quickly becomes something Kieran wants for keeps.
This was a very sweet Christmas story that also touched gently on the pressures and prejudice faced by someone in the public eye when it comes to their sexual orientation. I loved how tender Thane and Kieran’s relationship felt, and how Thane did everything he could to protect Kieran without overwhelming him. Their connection was warm, soft, and full of charm resulting in a story that made me smile. The emotional moments were balanced with sweetness, making their growing bond easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
