Wes is finally ready for something real after years of keeping things casual, but meeting Jett Cordier — a former Olympic star turned guarded assistant coach — complicates everything. Their late‑night arguments and heated moments blur into a friends‑with‑benefits arrangement that doesn’t stay casual for long. Jett is still rebuilding his life after losing almost everything, and letting Wes in scares him. The more they’re together, the harder it becomes for him to pretend it’s nothing — and the risk of falling again feels enormous.
The push and pull between Wes and Jett worked for a while as they settled into their friends‑with‑benefits arrangement, but it eventually became tedious, repeating the same emotional beats without much movement. What stood out more were their interactions with close family especially Jett’s heartbreaking experiences with his parents, who added pressure to an already overwhelming situation. This is a story full of emotion, with Jett struggling through his mental health challenges and Wes dealing with serious family health problems. Their journeys felt easy to read and understand, even when the weight of everything becomes heavy. This was an MM story with mature content.
