Kuba is supposed to be just another job — the assignment that finally lets Diesel settle near his mom. But once he reaches Seattle, Kuba proves far more complicated than expected. He needs Diesel’s help in ways that go well beyond protection, leaving Diesel unsure where “home” really is anymore. For Kuba, having Diesel around brings new distractions and dangers, and suddenly it’s not just his own life at risk.
This book was filled with passion, both in Kuba’s fierce drive to beat Dread and in the way he and Diesel slowly fell in love. I loved the danger and drama woven through the story — from the threats of Dread’s supporters to the tension around revealing Kuba’s sexuality — all of it added real weight to their journey. Their relationship was wonderful to follow, especially as they worked through tough moments and still came out stronger on the other side. The writing made everything easy to read, feel, and understand, and I was fully swept up in their fight for something better together. This was an MM story with mature content.
