Review: Beast by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Beast by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Milo escapes to the Wisconsin woods for solitude but instead meets Calder — a massive, wary cryptid who slowly lets him in. Their attraction grows even as something dangerous stalks the forest, and Calder keeps placing himself between Milo and the threat. Milo knows he should leave, but he stays, because they want each other despite every risk.

This was a great nature‑rooted story, and I loved how Calder quietly taught Milo more about the forest — its animals, its plants, and the rhythms he’d lived with for so long. Their relationship grew beautifully as trust deepened, each step feeling natural and earned. The chipmunk family was adorable, and Mrs Alvarez added such warmth and grounding to the human side of Milo’s world. I really enjoyed how Milo and Calder found ways to compromise and blend their lives, even when their worlds seemed impossibly different. The emotions and feelings throughout were rich, clear, and easy to connect with. A tender, atmospheric romance full of heart, wilderness, and two men learning how to meet in the middle. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: A Christmas Heartcheck by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

A Christmas Heartcheck by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kieran’s Christmas hookup turns out to be Thane Hale, hockey’s golden boy, who is about to come out publicly as bisexual. Their one night together gives Thane a rare sense of normalcy, and he can’t stay away — especially when Kieran treats him like the headlines don’t matter. What began as a holiday fling quickly becomes something Kieran wants for keeps.

This was a very sweet Christmas story that also touched gently on the pressures and prejudice faced by someone in the public eye when it comes to their sexual orientation. I loved how tender Thane and Kieran’s relationship felt, and how Thane did everything he could to protect Kieran without overwhelming him. Their connection was warm, soft, and full of charm resulting in a story that made me smile. The emotional moments were balanced with sweetness, making their growing bond easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Daddy's Little Christmas by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Daddy's Little Christmas by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rudy escapes an ex who tried to shame and control his little side, seeking a brief refuge in Winterhaven—a queer‑founded Vermont town built for people who never fit elsewhere. There, he meets Graeme Whitlock, a man who offers genuine acceptance, safety, and gentle structure. With Graeme, Rudy finally feels seen and at home, turning a temporary getaway into the possibility of a Christmas wish he never thought he could make.

I loved this story, which was a tender, quietly powerful holiday romance about healing, acceptance, and finding the kind of love that lets you breathe again. Rudy arrives in Winterhaven carrying the weight of an ex who tried to shrink him into someone he wasn’t. What he finds instead is a town built on queer resilience and a man—Graeme Whitlock—who sees him without judgment. Their connection grows slowly, built on emotional safety, gentle structure, and the kind of care that feels like coming home. What makes this story shine is how it treats vulnerability not as something to hide, but as something worthy of protection. Rudy’s journey from shame to self‑acceptance is handled with warmth and respect, and Graeme’s steady presence offers a beautiful contrast to the control Rudy escaped. The romance is soft, intimate, and full of quiet moments that glow like Christmas lights against the snow. This is a story for anyone who loves found family, queer sanctuary, and characters who learn to trust themselves as much as they trust each other. A comforting, emotionally rich holiday read that lingers long after the last page. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Kellan & Emmett by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Kellan & Emmett by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a story about Emmett and Kellan Miller, two former best friends and first loves who are unexpectedly reunited at their high school reunion after two decades of separation. Emmett has spent twenty years healing from the intense heartbreak he suffered when Kellan kissed him on graduation night and then immediately left town without a word. Despite being settled in his life, the moment he sees Kellan again, all his old feelings resurface. Emmett is determined that if Kellan wants a second chance, he will have to fight hard to earn it. Kellan has spent his adult life running from the truth of that night and trying to build a stable, closeted life. Returning to his small hometown is unsettling, and being near Emmett makes him feel like he finally belongs. He realizes that to have any chance at a real future with Emmett, he must stop hiding and running and start fighting for the man he should never have left behind.

I loved this story which showed that it is never too for love and finding yourself. I loved the little stories and awards which I can imagine are key elements of a school reunion. Everything and everyone were well described and felt very real. Plenty of emotions and feelings as the two men reconnected and reset their relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Finding Gideon by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Finding Gideon by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a story about Gideon Raines, a man running from years of grief and guilt over the loss of his twin brother, and Dr. Malcolm Jones, a small-town veterinarian seeking a peaceful life. Gideon arrives in the tiny town of Foggy Basin with no plans to stay, but he immediately notices the handsome new vet, Malcolm. Malcolm, who considered himself straight, is intrigued when Gideon stumbles into his clinic and saves the day. He offers Gideon a job, and their unexpected proximity ignites a slow, undeniable attraction. The story sets up a romance where both men are reluctant to open up—Gideon because he plans to leave, and Malcolm because he's afraid to risk his heart—but the growing intensity between them is too dangerous to ignore.

I loved this story with the two men who slowly became friends and then fell in love. I loved how Malcolm helped Gideon to grieve and understand that he had worth and was deserving of love. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story which will cause you to cry. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Worth the Fight by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Worth the Fight by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a story about a forbidden romance between Caden, an underground MMA fighter, and Noah, a social worker. Caden, a "bad boy" who fights to protect his brother from loan sharks, is drawn to Noah, a man who represents everything he's not. He's willing to risk his life for his brother, but worries his illegal lifestyle will cost him the man he's falling for. Noah, who needs to "keep his nose clean" for his job, is instantly attracted to Caden despite seeing him as a "red flag." He's convinced that beneath Caden's dangerous exterior is a good man worth the risk.

I loved this story with the conflict between their two worlds and the rules they are willing to break for love. I loved the way that love was able to give them the confidence in each other and the way that played into the dramatic ending. The little details were clearly described and easy to understand. Easy to read and feel. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Off-Limits Daddy by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Off-Limits Daddy: An MM Daddy Romance by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ari knows what he wants—a Daddy to love and care for him—and he’s set his sights on Reid Morgan, Briar Creek’s broody firefighter and his older brother’s best friend. Fourteen years his senior and freshly divorced, Reid is strictly off-limits… but Ari lives to push boundaries, especially when it means teasing the man everyone secretly calls Daddy. Reid has tried to resist the temptation, but Ari’s charm, sass, and lingering glances are impossible to ignore. When an accidental fire and a steamy Fourth of July celebration spark more than just flames, Reid realizes the boy he vowed to stay away from is already tangled in his sheets—and wrapped around his heart.

I enjoyed this story of forbidden heat, emotional vulnerability, and the kind of love that burns slow but deep. Both men were carefully written so that I was invested in the success of their relationship. It was lovely to see Ari increase in confidence thanks to the support of Reid. Emotions and feelings through the story. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.

From the Ashes by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Myles, a widower focused solely on raising his son, has put romance aside. When his Christmas dinner disaster brings firefighter Tristan to his door, Myles experiences an unexpected attraction to a man for the first time. He's hesitant to pursue a relationship, fearing heartbreak for himself and his son, especially given Tristan's reputation for casual encounters. Tristan, who embraces no-strings-attached hook-ups regardless of gender, doesn't believe in relationships. However, meeting Myles during the fire changes everything. Initially planning to help Myles navigate the dating scene and his bisexuality, Tristan quickly realizes his feelings are deeper when he sees Myles dating others. He now wants Myles all to himself.

I loved this story with the two men who had their own demons from the past and their shared love for Myles's son Nix. I loved their connection with all of the feelings and emotions. Some drama which was a little silly at times but thankfully they got through it. This was an MM story with mature content.

Pretend You're Mine by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fake relationship with real consequences - will love be enough to heal the wounds of the past? Creed has hit rock bottom. Dishonourably discharged, haunted by his time in the military, and freezing his ass off sleeping in the backseat of his car, he's barely surviving. Then a chance encounter with enigmatic billionaire Avery Branson results in an unbelievable offer he can't refuse - pose as his boyfriend for his high-society family, and in return, he'll get the money he desperately needs. But the more time he spend with Avery, the harder it is to remember why he's pretending. He’s everything Creed shouldn’t want, but somehow, he can’t stay away. Creed is the last person Avery expected to fall for - rough around the edges, emotionally closed off, and clearly running from something. But with his mother pressuring him to get married for the good of the family business, he needed someone who could play the part, and Creed was desperate enough to accept. He thought he could keep things simple, strictly business. But every time he peels back another layer of his armour, he wants more.

I loved this story of the two damaged men who found love when they didn't expect it. Avery's family were awful and I was thrilled when Creed stood up for him. Easy to read, feel and understand there were a lot of strong emotions in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Submission by L.K. Shaw 4 of 5 stars

Submission by L.K. Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As soon as Marcus saw Penny the innocent and submissive side of her nature called to his dominant and so he immediately volunteered to guide her through an exploration of the world of BDSM. However, he is also playing a game of cat and mouse with psychopath Evan who just wants to destroy him and so when the worlds collide he decides to call it quits to protect her. But he was too late and now she is in the crossfire so he will do everything he can to protect the woman he is falling for.

I enjoyed this story with the strong Marcus feeling so powerless around the evil Evan and the actions that he was taking to take revenge for various events and deeds in the past. I loved the way that Marcus was very protective and that he did his best to protect those who he cared for. The sexual chemistry between Marcus and Penny was electric and it was great to see that it also led to love. I think the ending of this story although it started as very sad ended with a very sweet event that left me smiling. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM nature.
