But the more time he spend with Avery, the harder it is to remember why he's pretending. He’s everything Creed shouldn’t want, but somehow, he can’t stay away. Creed is the last person Avery expected to fall for - rough around the edges, emotionally closed off, and clearly running from something. But with his mother pressuring him to get married for the good of the family business, he needed someone who could play the part, and Creed was desperate enough to accept. He thought he could keep things simple, strictly business. But every time he peels back another layer of his armour, he wants more.
I loved this story of the two damaged men who found love when they didn't expect it. Avery's family were awful and I was thrilled when Creed stood up for him. Easy to read, feel and understand there were a lot of strong emotions in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.
