My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Kylie Oakwood is a new police sketch artist with an amazing talent but also a very secretive past. She’s desperate to make a good life for herself and to forget all about the tragedy in her life. Not that it’s easy being in the one field she should most likely avoid. Detective Porter Hanson takes note of the nightmares in the back of this young woman’s eyes, but it’s so easy to forget when he sees her artwork and how well she handles the witnesses. She’s a unique personality, and that rubs others in the department the wrong way. But, for him, something about her brings out his protective instincts. The trouble is, he cannot figure out why he is supposed to be protecting her or maybe that should be more about who, or better yet, what? Especially when weird things start happening around her.
I loved this story with Kylie struggling with her psychic powers, her family and her work. Porter did his best to help and support Kylie. There was a lot of angst, confusion and frustration in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand.
